my game has not froze yet i have been doing these steps.
  • clear the game cache (hold down LB+RB+X while the game boots)
  • reduce number of save games turned auto saves off

  • clear the system cache
doing these things seems to be helping my game work better.

If it worked for you it's possible that the updates have created your freeze problem. Because clearing the system cache removes game updates.. I think

not 1.4 or the 1.5 patch, they reside inside the savegame folder, clearing the xbox cache wont remove them. Also the LB+RB+X doesn't dump patches when entering the game, it dumps the games cache of extracted assets (unconfirmed) like how you would in oblivion to make it run better.

my game froze alot but it has frozen only 1 time since patch 1.4 came out. the only problem im having after patch 1.5 is for some reason now going into some building causes all the light to disappear and go black and about 5 seconds later come back normal

that effect started happening in 1.3, i just contributed it to realism effect, your eyes adjusting from light to dark. the time did seem variant on how bright to how dark of a area you went into.

When mine freezes, it completely locks up my console...even if I just started my console...it is NOT a hardware issue!

It freezes when I enter some locations (Understone Keep, some dungeons/forts. etc...)...others I can enter as I please. The locations where it freezes, it completely locks my 360...it is totally unresponsive to any external input from the controller.

Bethesda games are famous for completely freezing Xbox to death.
Today i shoot to nearly death a dragon who crash instantly in me. When i saw this happening i just think "Oh Crap ! My Xbox will suffer" . Then lag ---> Freeze ---> 2 or 3 push-the-button to reboot it.
It was the same with FO3 and NV, only this games crash so much my consoles. Perhaps this games/engine use too much processor/memory resources.

http://www.bethblog.com/2012/04/12/kinect-support-coming-to-skyrim/ really? here we are haveing freezeing issues with this game and all thay want to do is add more things to this game which well add more issues .why dont thay try and fix the game first before thay add new things.I think fixing the games freezeing issue is more importent thean adding Kinect and other things.I am not happy about this.

Like the kill cams, Kinect support was done during a week when the game was finished and prior to release. It was one of the things that was featured in a video that showcased what the devs wanted to add to Skyrim. I dont think much was needed to add this support to the game so it should not have taken away from bug fixing people are looking for.

well turning auto saves off and clear the game cache and system cache dose not make the game stop freezeing mine just foze loading,I lost all that i did i did not even play that long.I wish thay would fix this game instead of adding meaningless things to it! :swear: :drag:  this game is not worth 60 bucks if it works as bad as it works.how do thay get away with selling games that freeze is beyond me?thay should try and fix the issues the game have first inseade of adding things that dont fix issues at all likehttp://www.bethblog.com/2012/04/12/kinect-support-coming-to-skyrim/ and Killcams .I dont know how other people dont have any issue whatsoever with this game its really hard to belive.

All games will freeze at some point. Ive had Bioshock 2 freeze and corrupt my saves, I was fairly far along too. Ive fallen through the world in Crackdown 2. Every program has a fail rate.

Have you trued a new game to see if freezing persists? Sometimes patches cant fix your save file. While they try its not always an option

Even with 'new' hardware, those can fail. This isnt me saying its not the game's fault but its a bit of a stretch to claim they are lazy to fix issues. Not all issues are easy fixes and even if a modder has 'fixed' an issue, that issue still exists just has some bandaid over it in hopes it wont go through it. I feel that Beth is doing what they can to fix stuff, its not like every issue that people have can get fixed in a day, a week or even a few months.

I am going to just throw this out there, but i bet many game freezes are caused by 1 of two things:

1. There is a scratch, smudge, or perhaps a part of the disk is not readable (that would explain crashes only occuring in Understone Keep for example...the data on that part of the Cd just may be corrupt...no one said all discs are made perfect...have you tried using a different Skyrim disc when visiting there?)

2. Your Xbox 360 DVD Drive needs cleaned (most likely) or is dieing(not likely) I clean my Xbox 360 Drive 1-2 times per month....taking discs in and out, opening and shutting the tray, etc allows dust to get in....1 spec of dust in the right place can make your game play just fine until you get to the place it needs to read where there is dust on the eye and boom freeze.

I reccommened cleaning your Xbox 360 drive....get a drive cleaner and clean it...i bet it helps big time....ever put used games in your Xbox? Borrow your friends games? god knows what kinda much you have inside that Xbox drive...clean it....i bet it does wonders.....

Just so you know, Mine used to freeze all the time too...I took it part and cleaned the Drive Lense...I haven't had one single freeze in 4 months know....all my freezing problems vanished when i cleaned the drive...my drive was dirty too and my Xbox slim is only a little over a year old...but there was a good bit of dust in there....
