Skyrim sill freezeing after patch 1.5 please tell me how to : V

I really was hopeing patch 1.5 was the one that would fix the freezeing issue in this game I was wrong.my game freezes at random times but it froze at skull cave every time i weant in there my game is like new so no scratchs on it so is my xbox like new so its not on my end and just today it froze whean my mage was casting fire.please fix this game or tell me a way to fix this issue.I can not have fun playing this game this with it freezeing.its really makeing me upset.

Not since i downloaded patch 1.5 i have before this patch came out many times and it has still locked up on me

I'm noticing a similar problem I'm running on a PS3 and any time the screen transitions into the water the game locks up, ive never had the problem before now.

I have heard of a problem of random freezing about every 30-45 minutes, which ended up being a hardware problem. In order to see if your random freezing is the same as the problem I have heard about, can you tell me if you have problems installing the game onto your HDD, i.e. the installation stops after around 30% complete? If you have installed the game without any problems, then it is a different problem to what I am thinking of.

At least that is good news. If you had problems installing it, then there would have been a strong chance that the disk drive was faulty, and the only fix would have been a new xbox.

i geuss i well make another char and see what happens.is there any thing else i can try that well stop the freezeing or at least stop it from doing it as much?

I can only suggest (as CCNA did) is for you to try a new character. If, (using your old character) the game consistently froze whenever you went to Skull cave, then with your new character I would go to skull cave as soon as possible to see if the same problem occurs. If it works with your new character, then (unfortunately) it could be that there is something in your old savegame that is causing it to crash whenever you go to that location. What that could be, I don't know.

do you have any save file bloat? if you do afaik none of the patches have been able to remove any bloat you may have. From what I have seen in the forums, most not all players experiencing crashes in certain players usually have some sort of save file bloat that causes an issue. What causes it Im not sure but some contributing factors is nirnroot glow and possibly stuff not getting cleaned up.

Having the same problem with two characters already, doesn't sound good. It will be interesting to see if you still get the same problem with a new character, created on this new patch.

Additionally, you could try deleting the installation from your HDD and try playing from the disk while going to skull cave. It is possible that the installed version could have become corrupted on your HDD (somehow). I am just trying to narrow things down of what could be causing your problem.

Having the same problem with two characters already, doesn't sound good. It will be interesting to see if you still get the same problem with a new character, created on this new patch.

II well be heading to skull cave soon I did not install the game this time.I just got done with escapeing helgen .

I've personally had a number of freezes caused by installing the game on my 250 GB Slim HD. It doesn't like the large drive, it seems. Because every time I have a problem, uninstalling the game fixes it. I even tried reformatting the hard drive, and redownloading all my add-ons, but I still got the "cyan screen of death" last night just exiting Whiterun, twice. So I'm running it uninstalled again.

What's strange is that my wife's xbox arcade with a 120 HD has no problems with the game installed. I knew it! I shouldn't had upgraded! 8)

I haven't got 1.5 yet. Should auto-update tonight when I log into Live.

dont think its the drive thats the issue, I run a Slim 250GB myself with little to no issues running game installed

Yes, the game still freezes after 1.5. I just downloaded the patch, went out for a walk in the main world to see how long it would take for it to crash... It took about 30 seconds.

My savefile also went from 17MB to 18MB in the time it took me to:

1) Get out of Breezehome.
2) Open Whiterun's main wall door.
3) Ride my horse away from the city for a few seconds.

Whatever is causing these issues, it's still there.

its called Wolfskull cave not just skull cave my mistake.I just got the qeast to clear it out I well let you guys know if it freezes there again

well i completed the qeast to clear out Wolf skull cave and it did not freeze :biggrin:

.thats a good sign.but thats not the only place it freezes.I never know were its going to freeze.

thats just great it just froze again I think i am wasteing my time trying to play this game.the game is just broken thats all there is to it.it froze whean it was loding that time.

imo it sounds like your'e xbox hard-drive is on its last legs or theres a dodgy connection inside your'e xbox case from the mainboard to the HDD.
Ive been using the flash drive for a few weeks now for hours on end and Havant encountered a crash yet.

Just suggestion that you might want to take.....

me neither. go into ur save and delete the game off ur hard drive and ur title update. get ur update, exit to dashboard and reinstall game to hdd. works like a charm lol.

That's odd. The Patch fixed almost all of the issues I had. Textures are fine again, shadows are much better and view distance has been fixed as well. Quests are still messy but overall, I'm satisfied. Now, 1.6 HAS to be the final patch.

imo it sounds like your'e xbox hard-drive is on its last legs or theres a dodgy connection inside your'e xbox case from the mainboard to the HDD.

I have 2 flash drives so i just install it onto a flash drive and it well fix the freezeing issue?its worth a try i geuss if my flash drive has that much space on it.64 mb should hold it i hope
