Skyrim texture bug might be worse then everybody thinks

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:35 pm

So far i was reading a lot of idea's/theories.

But NOBODY thinks about the fact they use a new way of data storage on the Xbox DVD. The problem might be there.

I know this because Battlefield 3 had the same issues, but because you optional can install the HD texture pack on its own, this problem was a easy fix.

You might noticed that the DVD spins much longer when installed then older games, in Battlefield 3 we needed to wait for the Disk stops to spin BEFORE we installed the HD texture pack, otherwise the HD texture pack would be corruped, and the textures wern't loading.

My fair is that Skyrim has the same problem, but because we arn't able to install the Texture pack seperately, this issue might be bigger then we all think.

I so hope im wrong, because i wont be playing the game for the DVD, i really want to install it. Lets hope they come with a patch soon.

But i fair the worst, also because we havn't heard anything about any Skyrim DEV yet..

I think they would have noticed something like this before mass-producing the game discs.

No issue on my end. I play off the disk. Everything looks amazing. Plays fine. No problem. Don't take this offensive, but I think people are really exaggerating on the issue. If a issue at all. Just because it didn't happen to me, doesn't mean it isn't a problem. If i was to be really picky about it, I have seen minor and I mean minor ultra low res. texture not loading but had to to enter into a room and come back out and it was fine. It was a terrain segment by Whiterun. I guess we will just have to wait. Technically the game is not out yet for the majority. So panic mode that there hasn't been a response on this is silly. Patience.

As a PC player i don't care that much about this, but i just don't understand the logic here.
If i am not mistaken, installing the game makes textures look worse but if you run it from disc there is no problem.
Then what is so bad with running the game from the disc? People had no option of installing games when the Xbox was released and apperantly that did not stop people from playing.

I'm on my way to pick my Copy up now ( YAY AUSTRALIA =P )

And looking at screen-shots of this alleged difference and… didn't notice it. Like really I can't tell the difference unless I literally zoom in on images and squint.

The problem is there yes, but no where near as bad as everyone says.

However that is my opinions from Screenshots. I won't know till l8r tonight

Which is why I pre-ordered it for ps3. Looks like it's the 360 users with the short end of the stick this time. I'll laugh if they're the ones stuck with vampirism.

Hasn't this happened in every Bethesda game since Oblivion though? I remember a few times in Oblivion on PC and 360 of walking through an ultra-low resolution meadow, and up into new Vegas, I've seen the LoD fail to load the high detail many times. Sometimes the problem does correct itself, other times I have to zone or reload.

Now why would you go and make people worry for no reason. People have played it on the consoles and they say it runs great. Minor issues.
But honest I wouldn't care what issues there were and the reason why is the game hasn't released yet and bethesda is releasing a day one patch, have some faith in these guy and gals. They have called this game their baby since day one and everyone knows that people want their babies to be perfect, right? I'll be worried if a few weeks goes by and there are some major issues, until then I'm good.

Believe I know the past Bethesda games are full of bugs on console but we still play the heck out of them because they are that good. Also I don't get why so many people these days pick at the smallest things and rip apart the game. Games have and will continue to have problems, the only thing you can do is play it with the problems or not play it at all.

I was not in anyway bashing what you were saying, my point is the game isn't even out, so let's wait and see for ourselves. I'm happy I have been hearing all this great stuff about the ps3 and Skyrim. I cannot wait to play it, it's gonna be one beast of a game.

Is the world not ending? Bethesda should pay US to play!!! So says all the people who don't have the game. :spotted owl:

It was released in Australia today, the texture bug is simply a bug that sometimes makes the pixels in some parts of the screen go funny but it soon ends... nothing major :)
