Social Media

You run around wielding heavy, melee weapons smashing up anything modern and people who promote modern technology that can potentially lead to you losing your job?

More like the Urban Dictionary entry:

"...luddite

1. One who fears technology (or new technology, as they seem pleased with how things currently are...why can't everything just be the same?)....

....A luddite generally claims things were just fine back in the day, and refuses to replace/update failing equipment/software/computers on the basis that they were just fine 10 years ago."

I update my computer, except I'm still running XP....I won't buy a mobile device, or do the social media things like FB or Twitter. Email and Forums are just fine, and I don't expect to change any time soon.

Is there an Urban Dictionary definition for someone who stares a joke square in the face and relentlessly takes it too seriously?

I would love that, but I'm horribly agoraphobic, and many of the people I know live much too far away to just pop over and visit anyway.

I use Facebook. Not much of an explanation needed beyond that, to me atleast.

It's like saying I use Google, or I have an Xbox, but some people blow it way out of proportion.

How come you aren't my friend, you big JERK!

Also, I reiterate my earlier statement:

Hates social media, web-base social interaction. Posts thousands of times on forum.

I want social media, that if you try to connect with someone fewer than 5 miles away, comes up with the pokemon phone message: "Just go talk to that person!"

You haven't read some threads on the IMDB forums then.

That sums up my use in addition up here it's a good way to stay in touch with folks living in the woods around the community and a great way for us to find out who is going to town so we can help one another out with supplies we need without spending all day and $50 in gas to pick up one item we need. Helping one another out.

In addition to FB and Twitter I enjoy Pinterest as it is an awesome place for ideas for the home and recipes and style....I love that place.

Yep, I have a Facebook account. I use it to talk to distant relatives and uncles etc. Plus, I have some old high school friends I still talk to on FB.

Yep, I use Facebook. Although I'm only friends with people I've actually talked to in real life or hung out with. Unlike the people with over 1000+ friends...

This is how I am even though I kind of loathe having one anymore. I have about 75 friends on FB and that's because they are actually my friends and family. People I truly deal and converse with in real life.

I have a Facebook page not under my name as i dont want to display all my personal details like so many people i know on the net for everyone to see, but ive limited myself to only a few people, others i keep in contact through Facebook by their message system, i use it to keep in touch with alot of my friends who are overseas or interstate, and its cheaper than a phone call.

What constantly makes me laugh with social media is the fact that people pile up friends lists and compete with each other who has more friends, when someone has 5000 friends on their page you know their just accepting anyone to boost their friends numbers.

Mostly it's kids doing that. Personally, my list of unaccepted friend requests is longer than my friends list. :P

Alot of people i used to work with, before facebook was invented and they had, dating social media sites they would compete with each other to see who could get the best rating and have the most friends, and their facebook pages now reflect the same.

The only thing that annoys me is the constant prompt i get to accept more friends, i have a huge list of people wanting to me accept them on my page, and i havent accepted one.

This is exactly why I deleted mine. I never used it beyond the first week and got tired of the prompts from people I never knew. Besides, the people I did know were posting silly stuff I didn't care about.
