[RELWIP] Sounds of Skyrim

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 1:08 am

Fantastic work!

Just visited Nightcaller temple and from what I could tell there is wind whistling, sounds of machinery in the background and the sounds of rats. It was a lot more enjoyable travelling through. Thank you!! Rated on steam workshop.

Holy crap that is awesome. Downloading right now. Please get the other 2 parts out ASAP!

I'm a bit of an audiophile and I can't wait to get immersed with these.

Glad to see this come over to Skyrim, have been waiting on it, now we just need Symphony of Violence and Storms&Sounds and it will be complete ! Unless you plan on doing the whole shabang and do every sound in game =)

Great work, another must have.

Interior thunder and rain is already covered. In the released Dungeons part too. You hear the raging thunder from inside dungeon entrances or, in forts, pretty much everywhere. Plus the rain that hits the windows in forts that have them. ;)

Watching the vids makes me so excited. I used to turn the music off in Oblivion for this.
There are a few things I'm not keen on though (People on streets and in taverns seems a bit much, as they arnt big enough to fool you into thinking the sounds are coming from anywhere), hopefully you'll release a few options.

Yes, there will be a menu from which you'll be able to disable/enable all sounds. I'll have to work on one for the Dungeons in fact.

Congratulations on the release!

So did the CK allow you to do anything with the 'cleared' status of a cave to stop certain sound effects?

DUDE!...Dungeons & Tombs are WAY scarier now. :cryvaultboy:

Had a creepy late night enjoying the Sounds Of Skyrim after a very smooth install by the Steam Workshop without me lifting a finger or needing to figure things out. Same goes for subscribing, commenting and rating.

The dungeon sounds have a very supernatural occultish feel to them. I was getting so emotionally effected by the evil sounding effects i actually seem to see a demonic face at one point gazing down as if smiling at me from high above the cavern wall. Talk about audio triggered optical illusions

I also found myself playing along with the sound effects like when hearing the female sounding musical tone i would look over at some misty dungeon fog rolling across the cold stone floor expecting to see a Grey Lady or Lady In White floating by and slowly turning to face me revealing a grim smile upon a ghostly skeletal visage.

Thank you Cliffworms for this masterpiece of the macabre unnatural.

Hail Cliffworms! Summoning up that which is from another world dark and ghastly.

Thanks Pov!
Alas, no. There is a function to check if a dungeon has been cleared, but that refers only to the first time it has been cleared (When the game sets a dungeon as "Cleared" on your map). So the sounds can stop playing once a dungeon is cleared, but they won't play once the dungeon resets.

The next update will include new pairs of pants.

Thank you very much, bishop of the fiery pits from below. Your feedback is always as enjoyable to read, as enjoyable as listening to the music produced by the screams of tortured souls.

Indeed! I always enjoy reading his feedback on projects since Morrowind. I love how he tells his gameplay experiences. He provides great feedback with a structure that makes it a nice read. :)

And thanks Zanderat! Great to see that you love it. :foodndrink:

Great work with this release - it really adds to the dungeon atmosphere and I didn't even have to turn the music off to enjoy it!

One thing though, I noticed some sounds are mismatched, for example Forsaken Cave plays Falmer noises when it is inhabited by wolves and draugr. Other than that, awesome mod!

Would it be possible to get a version where we can pick and choose the sounds we want? As I watch the video's the mod seems to be shaping up great, but then I see stuff that throws me off such as the constant town pvssyr even though everyone is just standing around looking at one another. Either way great looking mod, I look forward to see what else you do with it :)

I can see the offputting manner in which having sounds of voice occur when no one is speaking. I love the mod, but perhaps adjust those interiors where this could happen to instead simply include ambient noise from that location. An inn, store, still has sounds that could easily be enough to "fill out" those locations without being immersion breaking. For me its my #1 mod right now. But ya I think that part in particular could use some modifying.

Oh my... Just had a quick listen through couple of the sound files there and realized some of them were used in Morrowind addon of some sorts back in the day. Ahhh, feeling so nostalgic...

One word for you: ecstatic. The Wilds mod looks to be the best imo. And could someone please tell me what the music is that's playing in the trailers? I absolutely love it.
