[RELWIP] Sounds of Skyrim

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 3:56 am

One word for you: ecstatic. The Wilds mod looks to be the best imo. And could someone please tell me what the music is that's playing in the trailers? I absolutely love it.

The Dungeons is from Dungeon Keeper 1 I think (6th track on the CD?)

Civilization is a remix of the Daggerfall Snowy theme

I don't know where The Wilds is from

I remember seeing this mod developed for Oblivion, and I remember I was full of excitement and hopes, and now I see hear this
It's so nice to see these truly amazing, brilliant mods that just really adds to the feeling of the game. The game feels so much more real.
I think the word "immersive" is overused a lot of times on the forums, but this mod is one of those occasions where I think it's 100% true and fitting to use the word. A very immersive mod

I'm really looking forward to the future releases. Thank you sincerely.

have been using your dungeon sound mot combined with realistic lightning and it really brings ten new levels of immersion. Simply a mod that is on my must have list, looking forward to the other ones also. Skyrim wouldn't be the same without your mods!

Great work with this release - it really adds to the dungeon atmosphere and I didn't even have to turn the music off to enjoy it!

One thing though, I noticed some sounds are mismatched, for example Forsaken Cave plays Falmer noises when it is inhabited by wolves and draugr. Other than that, awesome mod!

Actually that cave is playing Draugr sounds. :P They must sound a bit similar to the Falmer.

Would it be possible to get a version where we can pick and choose the sounds we want? As I watch the video's the mod seems to be shaping up great, but then I see stuff that throws me off such as the constant town pvssyr even though everyone is just standing around looking at one another. Either way great looking mod, I look forward to see what else you do with it
I can see the offputting manner in which having sounds of voice occur when no one is speaking. I love the mod, but perhaps adjust those interiors where this could happen to instead simply include ambient noise from that location. An inn, store, still has sounds that could easily be enough to "fill out" those locations without being immersion breaking. For me its my #1 mod right now. But ya I think that part in particular could use some modifying.

I am working on an in-game menu that allows you to disable/enable each of the sounds. Actually i'll say that I'm "trying" to make one. Making in-game menus with the new scripting engine takes a bit of time to get used to. :P
But yes there will be one so you can customize Sounds of Skyrim to your preferences.

Oh my... Just had a quick listen through couple of the sound files there and realized some of them were used in Morrowind addon of some sorts back in the day. Ahhh, feeling so nostalgic...

That would be Atmospheric Sound Effects by Duncan. One of my favourite Morrowind mods. :D

The Dungeons is from Dungeon Keeper 1 I think (6th track on the CD?)

Civilization is a remix of the Daggerfall Snowy theme

I don't know where The Wilds is from

Correct on the first two.

"A New Beginning" is the one used in The Wilds. It comes from Stronghold 2.

love all your additions, cliffworms. absolutely brilliant.

The Wilds should be released this week. I'm tweaking the volume a bit and trying to figure out why wolves won't howl and saber cats won't roar at night.

So i've heard. Even Bethesda acknowledged the unfortunate fact.

Actually that cave is playing Draugr sounds. They must sound a bit similar to the Falmer.

Really? I thought it was because it was an ice cave... it only occurred in the ice cave part and recently another ice cave inhabited by necromancers played a similar sound - however if it is an undead sound then that would be appropriate to the two groups as well

I should check for an ice cave inhabited by neither undead or falmer to be certain though...

Also curious about this, and AWESOME about Wilds being released this week. The wilderness is where my character spends the majority of her time. ^_^

I'm planning to, during the battles. That is, if I can find great samples. There are already in the game, but I think they either do not play or do not play loud enough to hear them well. I'll need to check that out. That would be part of the Special Events module.

You'll be missing out while the other modules aren't done. The dungeons mod by itself is amazing and really enhances the creepy atmosphere when paired with a mod that makes things darker, like Realistic Lighting.
