No spiders!

I hate spiders, but I don't have a phobia. I prefer to use range combat on them while in stealth mode. Takes hit and run tactics if there are a lot of them. I prefer to travel alone, so I don't have a merc to help me.

The facing my fear thing hasn't really helped. I tried it in multiple games.

By the way, there are Spiders on the planes of Skyrim and there is one in the DB Sanctuary (sort of a pet to them, stays in one spot though).

Oh, that would be GLORIOUS for PS3! Alas, I don't have a computer powerful enough to run Skyrim properly. =/

I can only agree with the OP's statement. And this is nothing against the game itself, it's deffo added to my ''best games ever'' list.

But I too have a spider phobia or a phobia for any sorts of extreme display of insects of the same sorts.
I really hate the times I face them giant spiders, I'm just glad I'm into archery so most of the time I can get rid of em from a far distance.

But man, I am so afraid of the times in the game where out of freakign nowhere a giant spider drops from the ceiling on top of me =(

I've never got the "scared of spiders so can't stand images of them". It seems to be largely limited to spiders. I had, for the longest time, a horrible fear of dogs. Big or small, puppy or full grown, I was terrified of them. Even to this day, I hate canines of all kinds. Don't get the appeal, don't want to get the appeal, would be quite content with life if all dogs in the world spontaneously combusted. Not afraid any more, just strongly dislike.

But only the real things, actually having to be around them and unable to get away. Wolves and dogs in video games? Nah, didn't get any kind of emotional response, still don' t except "woo easy leather :D". They aren't real after all. Or maybe my phobia has always been being unable to get away from a dog and I'm in complete control with a video game xD

There are still a few in interiors as removing them would necessitate overriding some CELL records and in doing so would have removed the climate data. Will complete it when there's a Skyrim editor.

I haven't tested it, but should be a better alternative.

Note: Until an editor comes out, interiors with removed spiders will look ...funky. I'll rebuild this plugin when able.

Haha yeah the mod I posted is a bit of a hack job, but I guess people are limited without the construction set.

The climate data won't be there, so the cells will look like they do in the render window of the editor, kinda flat. Admittedly, it's hacked as well, but should be better than "goofy bears" named as and behaving like spiders.

Hmmm... I think I've just figured out a way to avoid cell edits but still get rid of the spiders before the CK hits.

This is gonna take awhile and I've got plans tonight. Should be done tomorrow. Basically, the spider _NPCs will be overridden by contextually correct creatures of other types which will be duplicates of other _NPC forms. There's one spider associated with a quest, it looks like, and I'm not touching it. The rest will be skeevers, trolls, mudcrabs, foxes, wolves, etc.

What I'll do, when the CK comes out, is make a mask or ring that adds the player to the spider faction while equipped, much like the ghoul mask in FO3 but for spiders. So long as you don't pick a fight with a spider, it'll ignore you. Since there are still gonna be spider webs and eggs all over, it would make more sense to neutralize than substitute 'em, yeah?

Sunday: Gah! Left my USB3 cables at my friend's last night and cannot continue working on it until I get them back. Will bump this with a new reply ASAP.
