Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:57 pm

I don't care about 3D, especially when it's shoehorned into older movies, but I will be seeing all six films just because I've always wanted to see them in theaters (a second time, for the prequels). Going to see The Phantom Menace tomorrow.

I might watch the original trilogy if they were released in the theaters, again (preferably in 2D), but the prequel trilogy... nah. Can't they do something more useful with Star Wars? I'd take a memory eraser to re-experience KotOR with no knowledge of it again. :P

Or make a Kotor that is not a MMO,

I wish they would do something with the expanded universe. The Thrawn Trilogy would make an excellent movie series

Elephant poop can make some nice paper.

:teehee:

Yes, I actually got a small book made out of elephant dung from a museum. It's a comic book about elephants.

Phantom Menace 3D

Did they really need to highlight the crappyness in 3D?

The series is good where it is. Making more movies just runs the risk of ruining the name of Star Wars.

lucas was oringially going to make 3 prequels and 3 squels but decided against the latter and wrapped it up
he was going to find the other(orignally it wanst leia) and rebuild the jedi order with him or her
but lucas was like never mind and decided to kill the sequel idea

That, too... but that's asking too much, evidently enough. I feel a memory-wipe might be more viable than getting a clamored-for true sequel to a beloved series, oddly enough.

Which brings me back to my point. Making more movies just runs the risk of ruining the name of Star Wars.

Having a 12 movie series is a bit ridiculous to me.

and all this bashing of lucas actually makes him feel like a failure, or atlest from where i sit it seems
how would you feel if you spent your life working on movies and everyone got mad at you for trying to make them better and rereleasing them

Attack of the Clones is still a better love story than Twilight.
i said movies, not a documentary on how not to make a movie. Totally different criteria and types of films.

Phantom Menace is actually my least favorite movie of the series. I can at least turn off my brain for II and III's action scenes.

Sorry, the way you worded that confused me a bit.

I am not bashing Lucas at all. I am saying that 6 movies is enough. He did a good job and doesn't need to add anything else.

One of my friends posted a picture on facebook of him with a bunch of Star Wars 1 3D-swag in a movie theatre.

I immediately unfriended him.

Let's think about this, what was the main selling point of star wars? Ok. Since he doesn't have any ideas that could possibly usurp the originals, he falls into the pit that most directors fall in: Rehash fest. But the crap keeps selling so, he just keeps rehashing.

If it made me rich, why would I care? He wants to make movies his way, so he can deal with the consequences.

I hope George doesn't do another Star Wars movie. Besides, my comment was more directed at 3D then Star Wars.

I'm going just for Darth Maul. Screw the Jedi, screw Jar-Jar, forget Padme, give me some Sith. And by the way, Darth Maul did not die. George Lucas just resurrected him for the Clone Wars.

I might see it, I kinda enjoyed the Darth Maul and Qui Gon characters.
I know I wont see episode II, but I know I will see III - VI. I've never reall considered them great stories (any of them, but maybe I just don't like Georges stroy telling) but I do think they are fun to watch.

I'd say he was actually Palpatine's best apprentice. He was certainly the only one who could have become a true Sith Master, Jedi never make good Sith.
