Even living in Japan, I decided to buy the game on Steam anyway, I'll try to activate the game via VPN on 11/11/11.

I was not expecting to be able to preload the game just now, but for my surprise, not only I was able to do it, but I downloaded at blazing speeds, very few times I saw my 200MB fiber optic connection work at full power.

Barely 5 minutes total, that was amazing to watch.

Bozz, is that you? Haha

23 mbps... and I thought my 2mbps was impressive. Must be nice not having capitalistic cable companies dominating internet speed over there..

I...what. What. 10/10, good sir.

Also my pre load is going at under 200 KB/sec. [censored]. But at this rate it will still finish by friday which is all that matters.

Yes!

I came here to complain about the japanese release date, then decided to stick around, it's a great place and fun to read.

Great news. If I hadn't just started DL'ing Rage (21GB, sheesh)....I know I could pause one and start the other but I'll wait. Still, why oh why does Steam always give me only 2.5ish MB/s when my connection is so much faster....sometimes at 3am it goes up to 6-7MB/s but...bah humbug.

...after Rage, Skyrim pre-load here I come! :)

Yah, thought I'd check the forums and saw the announcment of preloading in progress.

So I went ahead and plunked money into the Steam kitty.

For what it is worth, downloading at a steady 1.2 MB/S , so it says.
Should take less than 2 hours total. Comcast Houston, downloading from the alleged Houston Steam hub.

A question to which "that" would be the answer hadn't entered my mind.

Umm... I bought the game on Steam, I live in the US and I see no option to pre-load. In steam I jsut see news and on the website it has a new thing that just says I own the game. Thats it no Pre-load Option. What am I missing?
right click the game, look at the option with info on it, and click it, will give preload option if it didnt show automatically
