Stopped playing dawnguard

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 2:42 pm

Usually this stuff doesn't bother me but I've had a lot of vamp attack in cities and many reloads. I like the dlc but this is seriously annoying. Hell, cliff racers were less annoying. So if you were starting a new character like me don't bother with this, unless you don't mind dead npcs.

It's normal. It's a part of the dlc >_> It's actually cooler than just kids wandering around

I agree. Although sometimes enough is enough. I don't want people other than guards, who eventually respawn, to be killed

Stop fast travelling. I've been playing nonstop and have had only 1 vampire attack. Dragons/vampires seem to be linked to fast travelling.
I suggested in another topic that maybe fast travelling to the stables of cities instead of actually inside them may prevent them from spawning there, but have yet to test it.
Much less people outside towns that can die than inside even if it doesn't work.

Tried that, when I went in city there was a vamp attack.

Well, there goes that idea.
Well, the only thing that may work is not fast travelling, but if you don't want to do that you may just have to try to kill them really fast.
Someone in another topic said he was using the slow time shout and dealing with them that way.

While I have to agree with you, some people (myself included) just don't like named NPC's dying as they do not respawn.
When enough people die the towns will just be empty.

yes they went too far. They always ambush me during travels. that should be enough, killing of NPC is more annoying

Wait, are you kidding? If you use a "New char" the vampires are so low level that they can barely take down 1 guard.

Just wait til you realize that they never stop, even after you've beaten the DG Mq.....random vampire assaults on your Towns for the rest of your game.....yay

Actually I've had like 3 vampire attacks while being on the vampire side. And plenty of dawnguard attacks on roads. Also had a bandit raid in a town. But I like it. Chaos is good.

Takes a while for guards to die but npcs run in and die very quickly.

Why was the topic moved to hints, cheats, spoilers? This doesn't cover any of those :s

i think its a good feature, makes the war between mortals and vampire seem more alive. i've completed most vanilla quests anyway, so i dont really care for npc's dying

It's an invasion themed DLC. Deal with it.

Man up, actually act like the Dovahkiin, and handle your business.

Besides, 90% of the time the City Guards just flat out own the Vampires before they can do any kind of damage. People really need to quit over-exaggerating...

Vampire/Dawnguard attacks should stop when you complete either of the quest lines, that's my only "complaint" of the DLC. A Master Vampire killed Adrianne Avennici... :(

Oh really, maybe in your game. In mine the vamp kills the npc before I can fire a spell. No over exaggeration. The guards attack those dogs while the vamp kills npcs that run up to it.

I'm going to deal with it by not buying it.

Maybe further down the line depending on available mods, but I'm still reticient to purchase content that needs a mod to make it palatable. Making sure named NPCs don't get killed when I go into a town isn't what I want from a game.
The point that resonates with me the most is that it happens all game making dead cities pretty inevitable - however long it takes - with a full playthough and I can see for myself regular battles in cities would start to get very tedious indeed. I'm not paying to make my game more tedious.

Yup, really really.

Almost three cities worth of Guards swarm the Vampires when they attack in my game. Have you done a killing spree or guard cleansing? There should be more guards swarming the Vampires in five seconds or less than you thought was possible for the city to hold...

But that's what happens in invasions. People die. It's called urgency and suspense, and it actually gives gravity to the theme of the Expansion.

I haven't stopped fast traveling at all and I've seen 3 attacks with a single dead npc...
