SubWay - Eat Fresh: What do you put on your sub?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:49 pm

Spicy Italian on Italian and cheese bread with cucumbers and vinegar.

That's all. The cucumbers and vinegar make it fresh and tangy. :P

My favourite kind of any sandwich is Chicken, Bacon/Ham and Mayo. Subway is no different.

Cold Cut Combo- Chedder, Lettuce, onions, lots of mayo.

Steak & Cheese- Pepper Jack, Onions, green peppers, occasionally jalapenos, Chipotle Southwest sauce.

Meatball Marinara- just American cheese.

I don't really get anything other than these lol. We have a privately owned Pizza Shop around here that serves subs that are 100000 times better than Sub-Way's, just saying.

I always imagined it to be sweet, a bit like birthday cake icing but more creamy.
I just looked it up. It is indeed just a smoke dried jalapeno pepper.

Can't even afford bread up North... Tragic.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PYqZU46suiY/TVv7iSLhgNI/AAAAAAAAAQw/P2UzRl_a_9E/s1600/Meatball+Marinara.jpgall the way... Ow, my arteries

It's ok, us northerners will always survive as long as we have a Greggs. Bread is for filthy hobbitses.

I usually dont go to subway because they're a rip off, but for most sandwich shops I never ask for lettuce. I end up asking for toms, pics, and sometimes onions and the reason I dont ask for lettuce is because they over fill your sub with it and you get less of what you wanted. I always go for tuna or ham and salami with the veggies with oil s&p.

Cold Cut Combo with swiss cheese, not toasted, with lettuce, tomato, green peppers and black olives. Add mustard, mayonnaise, and a little bit of salt and pepper, and you've got a pretty refreshing sandwich.

Always get the cookies; they're delicious.

My regular selection is a footlong Spicy Italian on Monteary Cheddar bread, toasted, with provolone cheese, onions, cucumbers, black olives, and oil and vinegar.

If I'm at the one near my house I then walk across the street and get a McDonald's sweet tea because Subway's tea tastes like piss.

If I go for breakfast I get a bacon, egg, and cheese combo on flatbread with egg whites and monteary cheddar with nothing else on it.

Subway tastes gross to me, almost like it's metallic or something...

Oh, their ads are also a HUGE thing I have against them.

I admit I'm confused with the people who have such strong negative views on Subway.

Its just a bloody sandwich.
That's the exact problem I have with it. I don't see the point of buying something that I could very easily make a better version of.

Why exactly? Is it those 'I lost weight on Subway' commercials?

Then why go to any food outlet? I don't think the purpose is to be better than normal sandwiches, just easier while out as well as still being enjoyable. If you were out shopping it would be difficult to make sandwiches.

Pretty much. It's mainly because I dislike Jared and Phelps though.

I posted my sandwich in that lunch thread, but I'll post it here too.
  • Turkey and ham, not toasted
  • 9-grain honey oat bread
  • Pepperjack cheese
  • Lettuce, spinach, black olives
  • Chipotle Southwest dressing
I used to like their meatball subs, but they scare me now. The last couple I've had were freezer burned or something, sort of hard and disgusting.

I go to Montana's because I don't think I could personally make a burger that tastes better, I go to a pizza place near where I live because they have some of the best pizza I have ever had. Every sandwich I have gotten from Subway feels like a regular sandwich that I could have easily made. I don't hate Subway, but I don't like eating there either.

I had Subway late last year for the first time in maybe half a dozen years. Then I remembered why it had been half a dozen years. It's an abomination.
Word.

I dislike places like Subway for what they've done to the US notion of what a deli sandwich is/should be. Real deli's have almost disappeared where I live. Friends/companies getting platters of Subway for lunches and talking about what great deli sandwiches they are. The "deli" meats they generally use at places like Subway...*gagging motion* :P :D

That said, the meatball sandwich is tolerable in a pinch.

I don't hate Subway. The taste is all right, they just don't put enough meat on it.

When I order the chicken sub I like, they use a little pre-measured tray of chicken, and it's really not enough compared to the amount of bread and lettuce.
