That stupid helmet

As I plan on playing an Argonian with horns, how the hell would he get that thing on his head? No silly looking helmet for me.

The helmet isn't that stupid. Though, it isn't that creative either. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that the reason why Beth decided to do the horns facing down is because they wanted to avoid the proverbial viking helmet with the horns facing upwards.

This helmet is only good to take Dovakhin by the horn while ....well you know why, by the way that must be the dream of any horned helmet lover.

If you want to get pissed at something, be pissed at the fact that many perks REQUIRE you to use a FULL SET OF ARMOR (Full leather, full plate) to work. If you ditch one piece the perk won t work!!!!
Pathetic.

Those aren't ram horns they're http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/11/03/new-skyrim-avatar-items-and-premium-theme-now-xbox-live/ and I like it.

That link does not imply that those horns are actually dragon bone. The dragon bone armor and helm are on the avatar on the far right.

In response to OP, I don't know how you can even talk about not liking the main Dovahkiin helm, and at the same time have fond memories of Fin Gleam. I think the swim out near Anvil to pick up Fin Gleam was always my first stop after leaving the sewers, but GEEZ was that thing ugly! I always hated the fact that it was Glass armor (which I felt was particularly hideous in Oblivion), and looked totally out of place on my stealthy thief character.... Thank goodness first-person let me pretend it wasn't there ;)

That is the only helmet you will ever be able to wear in the game. Get used to it!

No no I heard that if you finish the main quest you can also wear a Colovian Fur Helm!

So far, in every screenshot/video/piece of art that I have seen, the player character has had that gross helmet on. Wouldn't it have been nicer with dragon teeth or something dragon related (rather than ram's horns)?

A big part of Oblivion was the helmets; fin gleam, the helm of oreyn bearclaw, and the grey cowl in particular. They were all in my shortcut menu to equip. So I certainly hope helmets are interchangeable in Skyrim. I would have trouble believing that they werent.

Anyone else? Thoughts on the ugly stock helmet?

Well he just found out he is Dragonborne and dragon's just started attacking, he probably hasn't killed one just yet, soooo he's equipped the best he can under the circumstances.

I don't think you ever have played a TES game before, because then you would not ask such a question.
Of course you can change helmet or even not use a helmet at all if you want that, every armor piece you ware you can take off or change with another armor piece....you can run around in your undies if you want that.
