That stupid helmet

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 12:00 pm

So far, in every screenshot/video/piece of art that I have seen, the player character has had that gross helmet on. Wouldn't it have been nicer with dragon teeth or something dragon related (rather than ram's horns)?

A big part of Oblivion was the helmets; fin gleam, the helm of oreyn bearclaw, and the grey cowl in particular. They were all in my shortcut menu to equip. So I certainly hope helmets are interchangeable in Skyrim. I would have trouble believing that they werent.

Anyone else? Thoughts on the ugly stock helmet?

Of course they're interchangable. Plus, in only 50% of the Skyrim videos/images I've seen they're not wearing that helmet.

That is the only helmet you will ever be able to wear in the game. Get used to it!

Don't worry about that helmet being special or anything. It's only the normal Iron helmet.

A helmet? Hmm.

I think it is pretty cool for a piece of armor that will become nothing compared to the armor everyone will have near the end of the game

Thats funny cause most the headwear in Oblivion you liked were acctully my least favorite. I only used the Gray Cowl to not get in trouble when i went around punching people. I rather like the iron helmet.

That's all there is for helmets. Look at the bright side, they have like 3 swords to choose from.

I'm not a fan of the generic Dovahkiin that Beth is using for its marketing campaign either. That helmet is indeed ridiculous, I mean at least have the rams horns pointing UP. I am very glad the CE has a dragon statue instead of a Dovahkiin statue or I wouldn't have gotten it.

I wish the horns were turned upward. I'd love ramming things! :ahhh:

I also think the helmet is becoming a bit cliché, I definitely won't use it on my first few characters.

I'm going to put one on display in my favourite house as a memento of all the pre-game hype.

If the horns were pointing up, a bandit could just rip it right off your head. Come now - it's a baws looking helmet. You've just seen it all the time.
