Can anyone recommend a website and/or store where one can buy laptop screens (in Canada)? My sister fell down the stairs with her laptop and the screen is apparently done.
It's very rarely cost-efficient to replace the laptop screen if it's cracked. It's generally one of the most expensive parts. Also after suffering a drop down stairs there may be other problems that may rear their ugly head later. Nothing worse than replacing the monitor only to find the hard drive is dead/dying or some other component cracked on the inside.

Best bet is to replace the entire unit.

They exist, but you'd need a compatible jack. So it would depend what you plan to plug it into whether or not it would work.

You need a 3.5mm (1/8")* TRRS male to 2 x 3.5mm TRS female adapter.

*Some phones use 2.5mm

The hardest part is the troubleshooting in case something goes wrong, otherwise building it is simple.
Fortunately, I've never had any problems. Other than one time, I put the screws into the motherboard too tight, and it wouldnt power up. Since then, I start the computer without the motherboard screwed in. If it starts fine, I turn it off, screw in, start it again. Havent had a problem since using this method.

Can I get some opinions about http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236117? ? I've been looking around for a while now, and have $200 to spend on a monitor. DVI for my PC, and HDMI for my 360.

Very nice monitor. I use 3 of those Asus screens on my system and they look great.

I just upgraded to a i5-2500k (3.3GHz) processor and I got a DP67BD motherboard to go with it. My question is, is anyone familiar with this board? I spent hours online trying doing research to try to make the board stop the turbo thrust option thing and just have a solid 24/7 overclock. I have it currently overclocked to 4.0GHz at the moment, but that's with the turbo boost thrust thingy that comes default stock on the board. I can't figure out how to shut of the turbo boost tech. and just have a solid constant overclock. p.s. The intel extreme tuning utility software that came with the hardware is probably the worst piece of garbage I've ever installed on my machine....ever. Any help is appreciated.

I remember my friend had a motherboard with turbo boost on it and it was a switch on the board itself and a red light turned on when it was triggered. Check your motherboard manual.

Hey. I just installed a new version of Windows 7 on my Laptop and installed it on a new partition on the hard drive. What this seems to have done is screw around with my network drivers as I cannot get any access to the internet as the laptop is not recognising any wireless or wired networks no matter what I do.

When I troubleshoot to find why it wont locate any networks it gives me the message that
"Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver."

This is backed up by the device manager which has yellow exclamation marks next to
'Ethernet controller'
'Network controller'
'PCI Simple Communications Controller'

Since I can't access the internet I have no idea as to how I can install these drivers, so I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me how else I can locate them.

Another option would be for someone to inform me as to how I might be able to get my laptop back to how it was pre-installation of Windows 7... if that's even possible.

Can you download the network driver from the laptop manufacturers website on a different computer and transfer it to your laptop?

I have both driver files on a USB stick plugged into my laptop, but can't work out how to get them to work? I extracted both files to my desktop on my laptop and then tried to install them manually through device manager but it gave me the message 'Windows was unable to install your Network Controller'. I got the same message for my Ethernet Controller and PCI Simple Communications Controller...

Did you try running the msi installers? Or setup.exe, or whatever they have for each driver.

I don't know what that is, sorry?

Also, is there any possible way that I can undo the re-install of Windows and go back to the previous way it was? I have all my old files in a place called Windows.old?

Yeah I have, neither that nor device manager appeared to work.

Is it possible that this is because the Cisco LEAP module, the Cisco PEAP module, and the Cisco EAP- FAST module were for some reason uninstalled?

Those have to do with RADIUS authentication, nothing to do with the wnic.

I just checked and they have an atheros, broadcom, and realtek wnic driver. you need to find out which one yours is and install that one.
