The Greatest PC Game of all Time

Let's see... if I had to go with a game that is PC Exclusive, then I would pick Fallout 1/2.

Mine turned out as follows:

1. The Witcher
2. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
3. Warhammer 40.000
4. Mount & Blade
5. Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Certainly not what I expected, but not too far off I suppose. The first two are pretty much accurate, and though I would not have put the other three in my personal top five myself I do very much enjoy all of those games.

I am greatly displeased by the fact that I was not once able to choose for Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines and Redemption.

Tried it a second time:

1. Deus Ex
2. Warhammer 40.000
3. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
4. The Witcher
5. Battlefield 1942

Still no Bloodlines. :(

Planescape, Deus Ex, and Morrowind for me.

Planescape didn't show up for me. How strange.

Skyrim is in 2nd place.

...

EDIT: I'm at 7 and it is now trying to make me choose between Fallout and 40k. Not cool, Dorkly, not cool.

EDIT EDIT: At 3, and now it wants me to choose between Fallout and Morrowind. This is just cruel.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ended up with:

1. Fallout
2. Guild Wars 40k should be here.
3. Diablo II
4. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
5. Baldurs Gate II

I'm not sure how Guild Wars ended up in front of 40k, or why Fallout 2 and New Vegas weren't even on the list. Blood Money would also be tied with Diablo II, and Morrowind should be in Guild War's 40k's place, with Baldurs Gate in third place.

In my opinion and for myself, top 10 with most liked as 1 (last in the list)

10. Myst
9. Broken Sword: the Sleeping Dragon
8. Mass Effect II (didn't play the first one)
7. Leisure Suite Larry: Magna [censored] Laude (I thought it was very funny)
6. Morrowind
5. Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth (first one, maybe because it's one of my first video games)
4. Skyrim
3. Fallout 3
2. Oblivion
1. Syberia and Syberia II (basically II is a continuation of 1)

The order is subject to change.

Had to giggle since it isn't really accurate. Most of the games (3/5) are simply ones that hold nostalgic value. But I really did think Dungeon Siege was a fantastic game. Such with Starcraft. Half Life is indeed great, but definitely not in my top five. Deus Ex: HR was a damn good game, but also not my top. But then again, I could never really pick a top five even if I tried... so I'll settle with this.
1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
2. Half-Life 2 (including Ep. 1 & 2)
3. Dungeon Siege
4. Starcraft
5. Dragon Age Origins

Warcraft 3
The Thief games (the ones before deadly shadows)
Age of Empires 2
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Half life 2
Dungeon Keeper 2
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2

Planescape didn't show up for me. How strange.

And that's an issue for me . . .

Now that I actually took the quiz

1. Morrowind

2. Knights of the Old Republic

3. Battlefield 3

4. Dragon Age: Origins

5. Mass Effect 2

Dislike that New Vegas and Planescape weren't an option, from what I've seen.

This is completely inaccurate (or at least the last three are)....

1. Diablo II
2. World of Warcraft
3. Portal 2
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Counter Strike

I don't see how Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike appeared on there. They don't have enough games on there.

1. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
2. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
3. Medieval: Total War
4. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
5. Heroes of Might & Magic III
6. Cossacks: European Wars
7. Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings
8. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
9. Thief: The Dark Project
10. Delta Force 2
11. Darklands
12. Mount & Blade: Warband
13. Delta Force: Task Force Dagger
14. System Shock 2
15. Stronghold
16. Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis
17. Master of Orion II
18. Blood
19. Gothic II
20. Deus Ex

Of course, those are just my personal picks. It's hard to say what the all-time greatest are. "Professional" game journalists tend to go for the same overrated picks... Valve games... Blizzard games... Bioware games... etc.

Edit:

Tried the link, and ended up with:

1. Morrowind
2. Heroes of Might & Magic
3. Age of Empires II
4. Baldurs Gate
5. Oblivion

That was a nice trip down memory lane, to learn how predictable I am. Skyrim/DAO/Witcher/Witcher2/Oblvion I suspect it was a close call for the fifth position with Morrowind and Portal getting edged out.

It was nice to see Grim Fandango on there, and some other games. Definitely nostalgia inducing.

  • System Shock
  • Deus Ex
  • Thief
  • Star Wars: Tie Fighter
  • Day of the Tentacle
The Witcher, Portal and some other ones are in the top10.

Unsuprisiingly were my top 2:

1. Diablo 2
2. Morrowind

I had a very tough time wth those two, I love them both dearly, but I had to go with the game that I've put more time into over-all, and even though I've put well over 1,000 horus into Morrowind, I've put nearly 5x that amount into Diablo 2.

3. Neverwinter NIghts
4. Warcraft 3
5. Deus Ex

Was kind of surprised, as I would actually put Deus Ex into third, followed by Neverwinter NIghts, and then Warcraft 3 in 5th, but ahh well.

realistically, my real Top 5 would look more like this:

1. Diablo 2.
2. Morrowind
3. Heroes of MIght and Magic 3
4. Deus Ex
5. Neverwinter Nights

Skyrim is in 2nd place.

It really does not deserve to be there. Makes me a little, :verymad:.

1. Morrowind
2. Chip's Challenge (I freaking LOVE that game)
3. Warcraft II
4. Oblivion
5. Skyrim

Seems quite spot-on. Though, I might have expected to see Diablo II above Skyrim.

EDIT: I belive Morrowind totally belongs in my #1 spot, with Warcraft II definitely belong in the Top 5. Hours-wise, Oblivion should go in there too. Chip's Challenege/Ski Free both svcked many hours out of my childhood, but I haven't really played Skyrim too much.. Which I'd like to fix, but can't get into the game.

So I got to the Half-Life vs. Morrowind part...
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!

Anyway, here's what I got:
1. Half-Life 2
2. Skyrim
3. Civilization V
4. Portal 2
5. Half-Life

I had to skip a ton because it kept coming up with older PC games I never played (X-Com and Ceasar). It made me choose between AoE 2 and Starcraft...

1) AoE II
2) L4D2
3) Fallout
4) TES: Oblivion
5) Starcraft

Sounds about right given what I had to work with. I was assuming Fallout meant Fallout 2 also.

I actually had a random number generator decide between AoE II and L4D2. Best of 5.

1. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
2. Thief II: The Metal Age
3. Diablo II
4. Half-Life 2 (including Ep. 1 & 2)
5. Warcraft III

Those weren't my results.

Those are actually the first five definitions of "awesome" in the dictionary.

1) Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
2) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
3) Dragon Age: Origins
4) Portal
5) Crysis

3/5 belong. Portal and Crysis should be switched out for Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead.
