The Hero of Kvatch vs Dragonborn

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:13 am

alduin is of flesh and blood. jyggalag is the god of order. and has a army. if a mortal with the same power as alduin can beat him at his own game. then a god will have no trouble against a dragon

Alduin isn't JUST a dragon. Did we not pay attention? He's the son of Akatosh. He's destined to devour the world. Jyggy doesn't have that kind of power.

this should be more like how long would the dragon born last against the lord of the shivering isles.

At the end of shivering isles he takes sheogoraths place and becomes him.

Oh, I thought we were talking about Dragonborn. Silly me.

He doesn't. At the end of then Shivering Isles, he assumes the position of Sheogorath, a Daedric Prince. However, he doesn't have the full powers of a prince, and there's a big difference between Daedric Prince and God.
Even then he still has his staff and he could just freeze the dragonborn and stab him...or turn him into a sweetroll.

This. Alduin also DOES have an army. Of dragons.

Not all shouts directly affect the enemy though. If the Dragonborn dual-wielded weapons and used Elemental Fury, the Hero of Kvatch couldn't even hope to best him.
Sure he could. Just stack Reflect Damage up to 100%, and the Dragonborn would just kill himself attacking the CoC.

Hero of Kvatch/Champion of Cyrodiil is a god...

Shouts aren't magic.
They are in game terms, I add shouts directed at me into my magika pool...that are a form of a magic it seems

Hero of Kvatch/Champion of Cyrodiil is a god...

The Champ was given the powers of a Daedra. To some extent. Obviously 200 years has gottne him a little farther. However, he started mortal.

Dovah had the dragonblood from birth. He was basically BORN with god-like power. The Thu'um can devastate cities for Sithis's sake!

and the past nords open a time rift and threw him into the future which is the tamerial we are in today. the dragon born killed him. the hero of kvatch is sheogorath. hes talks about his adventures as the hero of kvatch. when u meet him and pelegias the mad in skyrim. plus for jyggy its been two hundred years.hes def. got his power back. remember before they imprisoned him jyggy was the most powerful daedra lord. but his siblings tricked him. and see how much trouble he was in the shivering isles. and he wasnt no where near at full power ya dig

Yes, but Sheogorath in Skyrim is, again, heavily implied to be the Champion of Cyrodiil. And since his presence can be felt on Mundus, that probably means that he's been able to become a full Prince (or pretty damn close to one) in the 200 years since Oblivion.

Anyway, I'm voting with the Dragonborn, because the question is about the Hero of Kvatch, NOT Sheogorath.

Dovah defeats Alduin. Something tells me that Alduin could've eaten Jyggalag for breakfast. Just sayin.

Doubt it. Jyggalag was the most powerful Daedric Prince in Oblivion, before the other Daedric Princes banded together, stripped him of most of his power and cursed him into the form of Sheogorath. Alduin was defeated in the first Dragon War by a bunch of mortals who used an Elder Scroll to throw him through time.

Alduin isn't JUST a dragon. Did we not pay attention? He's the son of Akatosh. He's destined to devour the world. Jyggy doesn't have that kind of power.

Jyggalag has not only destroyed worlds before, but entire Oblivion Realms. Alduin was the son of an Aedra, Akatosh, which Aedra are less powerful than Daedric Princes, because they sacrificed most of their power bringing Nirn into existence. Which is why Aedra can be permanently killed, while Daedra cannot. Alduin, the son of an Aedra, would be a gnat in comparison to a Daedric Prince, especially the most powerful Daedric Prince in history, Jyggalag. Jyggalag in his prime, would've curb stomped Alduin.

I'll wait till Skyrim is done with dlc, because who knows where the Dragonborn will end up. The last two hero's are probably still alive so it's a fair bet something simmilar will happen to the dragonborn to write him out of history.

But if I were to guess, I'd call a tie. We're talking two hero's here. You can argue specific's all you like, but in the end it's just like the arguement of Super Man vs Goku. The one you choose is simply the one you like more often than not.

The Daedric Princes have nothing on Alduin. A dragon took down Mehrunes Dagon, after all. Jyggy may be more powerful, but he was still defeated by a mortal/goddish thingy. Dovah > Dragons > Daedric Princes

Nobody? Really?

Ok I'll bite:

Shouts svck.

Seriously, this is the most overrated excuse for a Dragonborn victory in every match-up. You guys NEVER justify this claim, you just say it in the same fashion a little kid playing Rock-Paper-Scissors screams "METEOR!!!" and then claims he won.

"Who would win in a fight between Dovahkiin and Courier Six?"
We just had that thread. Everyone's response? "Dovahkiin cuz shouts."
Yes, nevermind that Courier Six is the one with the guns and the nukes, nevermind that Courier six runs faster and nevermind that Courier Six has a matrix-like perception of time (Turbo), nevermind that a well-placed shot will knock Dovahkiin on his ass (Shotgun Surgeon or an AMR loaded with explosive rounds), nevermind that even if Dovahkiin were to catch Courier Six within melee range, Courier Six is definitely gonna get the first few punches in (due to his matrix perception of time) and a SINGLE punch can knock the Dovahkiin on his ass (Ranger Takedown) or stun him for 30 seconds (Paralyzing Palm), and nevermind that Courier Six has weapons that pierce directly through armor whereas Dovahkiin does not. How the HELL is Dovahkiin supposed to catch or land a hit on someone who runs faster than him and has a matrix like perception of time, while ALSO wielding a nuclear weapon?

Who would win in a fight between Dragonborn and Champion of Cyrodiil?
What's the general answer again? "Dovahkiin cuz shouts."
Yes, nevermind that CoC has 100% damage and magic reflect, forcing Dovahkiin to rely completely on a bow, nevermind that CoC can achieve ridiculous movement speed with self-magic buffs, nevermind that CoC can STOP TIME and while he's immune to Mehrunes Razor (100% magic reflect, anyone who attempted it would kill themselves) he can attempt OHKOs on Dovahkiin all day with the razor since Dovahkiin CANNOT reflect magic and only rarely reflects physical damage.

Dovahkiin is Sh*t Tier

Match him up against the Nerevarine, the CoC, the Lone Wanderer, the Courier: you name it. The Dovahkiin is the most limited protagonist we've ever had; PERHAPS he could beat the Lone Wanderer. He has less tools than any character we've ever had (save for MAYBE the Lone Wanderer) and is nothing but an axe-swinging barbarian with shouts instead of standard magic, but the shouts more or less have the exact same functions as most magic spells, save for a few.

I usually don't care about comparisons like this, but the lack of logic from the Dovahkiin supporters is astounding. Being able to shout isn't the end-all do-all to fights, especially when most of your opponents have ways to DODGE HITS ENTIRELY while still attacking whereas you yourself do not.

That dragon was the avatar of Akatosh.

Personally, my Champ was a Daedric prince and had spells that paralyzed, burned, froze and electrocuted all in one. All my Dragonborn has is shouts, heavy armor and dual swords with the ability to sprint.

@longknife: most of the time, you complain about game balance. Now you're complaining that we can't achieve 100% reflect magic and damage?!

Shouts can be VERY powerful. Elemental fury. Marked for death. Fire breath. Ice form. Unrelenting force. Used properly, these shouts can become very deadly.

What if both the Dragonborn and the CoC had plain, unenchanted iron armor. Who'd win? Dragonborn. Even with all of the enchantments on the CoC's armor, the Dragonborn can smith his Daedric bow to legendary and use a few sneak attacks to destroy the CoC.

Someone's on a 'I HATE SKYRIM!' rampage today ...

Well, lets see. MY Dovahkiin vs. MY Hero of Kvatch..... my Dovahkiin, no doubt. As others have said, the shouts give a big advantage. And honestly, my Dovahkiin is just a lot stronger overall compared to my hero of Kvatch.
