The hotkey system for the PC version is atrocious, good lord

I cracked and picked up my copy last night. Tbh I can honestly say that I'm not enjoying the game, and I don't think I can until this mess is fixed. Why do Bethesda think it's OUR responsibility to fix the games? Was not expecting them to be so lazy tbh.... PC is a massive flop.
I shouldn't have to use a 360 controller on a PC.

At least I've got BF3 to tide me over for a couple months until someone (which will not be Bethesda) fixes this rubbish

Yeah, this is crap to hear.

Though as someone else said, you can use autohotkey to get around it to some degree. That's what I'll be doing.

I'm sorry but I don't understand how this hotkey system works.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong:

1. You can hotkey weapons and spells.
2. A hotkey can only be tied to either 1 weapon or 1 spell (no cycling)
3. A specific situation now:

let's say I have fire rune in my right hand and a frost spell in my left. I now press a hot key associated with another spell, which of my currently equipped spells will be replaced? the frost in my left hand or the rune in my hand?

If instead I press a hotkey associated with a weapon, which of my currently equipped spells will be replaced? rune in my right hand or frost in my left?

Thanks in advance for any input!

It's quite funny how a few mod users give several examples that blow the original UI by Beth way :(

0-4 5-6 for left and right respectively...genius. Or modifier IE holding Shift would mean Off hand while just the numbers would be Main hand.

Wow.

I'm not usually one to moan and groan, but a horrible hotkey system was expected. A pity they didn't even bother letting you assign sets to custom hotkeys.

If they don't fix this, it does make it disingenuous that the PC version is "getting lots of love" or whatever. I really don't care about console/PC graphics or whatever, but the UI should be competent.

Don't get me wrong, I still can't wait to play the game. I just will acknowledge what I agree to be a major flaw. I'm sure it will only be a minor annoyance in the long run.
