The Skyrim Dead Is Dead Thread III

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 1:57 am

I would like to add my character to the wall. Tika lvl 15 heavy armor and two handed weapons. I had just completed the companions quest line, and was going to free someone that had been kidnapped,

walked by a giant camp and thought i could take one. One quick space flight later and i had my answer.

Celest is really heartbroken over the loss of Uth and frankly, so am I. Turns out, Ole Uth is one of the hardiest buddies to have. BUT that's they way it goes. She is still on the lookout for the Bandit Chief that killed her sister, yet no new leads. I guess that will just be a chance happening. She has been wandering around the city of Markarth. This place is real cool. It has spawned several, very interesting, quests. Celest is trying to get on the good side of the Jarl. She would like very much, to call this place home.

Leveling has been extremely slow. Celest is a sliver away from 15. I wanted to get her 1H skill to 100, by level 20 ( currently 63 ). Then I could focus on her Conjuration skill. I would like to invest some time in Smithing, but I'm just a little torn on what she wants / needs to do.

During our recent trials, we came across a Breton Summoner / Mage. She is cute and very creepy. She wants Celest to help her out with something.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like to add my character to the wall.
From the OP.
NOTE : You must post notice, of starting a new character, for them to be eligible for the Skyrim Memorial.
Arriving in Dawnstar, Deidranna headed for the local tavern to get some rest before going to the museum she originally came for.
Spoiler
She overheard a discussion aboout people having nightmares. Not just ordinary ones but everyone the same. The priest of Mara that seemingly tried to help cooled down the crowd and promised to see into the matter. She approached him and asked what this would be all about. He seemed to know exactly what was the matter. A deadric goddess, Vaermina feeded on the people of this little village. He asked Deidranna to trust him on this matter and help him. I wasn't quite sure if we could trust him but the chance of taking part in the glory of a deadric goddess made Deidranna following the priest to the hidden shrine.
The shrine was found by some orcs who seeked revenge. In their despair the priests activated some magical smoke that put everyone in the sanctum to sleep. Because of the appearance of Deidranna and the priest they now woke up, just to be cut down again by her sword and the priests fireballs. They finally arrived at the heart of the place, a plateau with the skull of Vaermina on it. While the priest started a ritual to destroy this unholy artifact, the goddess herself spoke to us. Deidranna just grinned, drawing her sword and climbing the steps behind the priest. I knew what would happen and honestly, I wanted to know what we would get for this.
The priest sung the holy words of Mara to destroy the altar. Deidranna drew her sword and stood right behind him. While he was incarnating the song, she took her sword up and slit his throat with one easy movement. The lifeless hull sunk to the floor, the eyes widened in surprise. Deidranna took Vaermina's skull from the altar and stepped out of the shrine into the night of northern Skyrim.
Her travels had now a new sense. She wouldn't rest until she found all daedric artifacts that could be found. The power within these items is exactly what she is seeking for.
After this adventure she ventured forth to...
Spoiler
Ustengrav.
After battling thorugh the bandits and undead haunting this place she finally arrived at the end only to find the hand that normally holds the horn empty except for a note...nobody does that with Deidranna. After getting rid of some Vampire-business in Morhal, she went directly to Riverwood. The person who did this better head a damn good explanation for this or otherwise he or she would be (un)dead.
The alphabetical order thing is totally bad and not fun.
It's always fun to scan the thread and see who elses char. died recently, but the alphabetical order means u have to go over the whole list
The idea is go scan over the thread. The people post when their char dies. The OP is just a way to list them all. What exactly would you suggest?
I think this is a wonderful idea. It's probably the boost Skyrim needs for me! I restart often, not because I do not enjoy the game, but because I like tooling around with different skill combinations! I will edit this post when for my initial try.
Glad to have your interest. Just post a new, in lieu of editing. That way we are sure to get it. Editing a previous post will likely get missed, by people just staying updated.( like me) :wink_smile:
Death is for the weak.
No but seriously it's a bit easy to die from falling in Skyrim while on a horse, I died from like a one meter drop which would be annoying whilst playing the DID style since I'd have to be so careful not to fall too far while on a horse, which I already am so careful with and yet it happens constantly lol.
Wish I had started in here before hitting lvl 12 :( haha, I created Shujaq and then couldn't stop playing long enough to post about his beginning etc. I'll quickly recap where he's been.
Spoiler
Started out doing the first couple quests around River and Whiterun. Grabbing the tablet of course(forgot to loot it off the boss first time in lol, oops) I really thought he would be a tough fight with no companion and no armor to speak of...Orc Berserk and 2 power attacks later he was laying at my feet lol. So far so good. Finished the first dragon, did a tiny bit of smithing to grab elven weaponry and up to superior they go...nice axes(I'm going no further as I'll be using Foresworn or ancient nord axes end game....I like the looks :P) and luckily had found a frost enchanted weapon on the first boss I fought so both axes got a nice little enchant right off the bat :) Went to high Hrothgar making excellent use of sneak to get by the very dangerous critters along that path :P Just had to go do the Taste of death quest, I love Eola as a companion! And now started the companions quest line. Gotta say that having done a few characters previously, remembering to use shouts all the time and being careful makes this quite easy so far even with zero armor....not sure I could do master though it's quite a jump.
Shujaq kill many Silver Hand's today. Tall woman Aela want's some reading book for finding Silver hand leader. Shujaq had heard of werewolves but never seen...and now me is one! Feeding...the blood...the fear...the power in Shujaq's arms is even better than beer! Tearing, slashing, biting and seeing my foes run from Shujaq like never before. Shujaq never look back. These silver handeds had no chance falling before my claws easily. Finding the reading book and then even their leader. What a fight! He died on his knees as most do before Shujaq and I howl with glee at the thinking of more Silver handed blood.
PS: Senior Cinco how are you raising your one handed so much? I wish! I'm sitting at around 46 or 49ish at lvl 13 now. Having no armor protection to fall back on I do find myself sneaking a bit more than I'd like maybe...using a bow more than I would normally. That might be part of it. Hrm.
Honestly, 1H was the only skill I was raising for a while. My char was running around naked with two swords. She picks no locks and never goes into sneak mode. Speech is hard to control because of trading. 1H is the only tree she has invested perks into, aside from the first perk if Smithing and Conjuration.
I'm sorry, you run around naked with two swords while playing DiD?! Crazy man! I thought DiD was all about playing it safe?
Anyway, I have a rather brief character to report. Kara entered Skyrim yesterday evening and died less than 24 hours later at the hands of a bandit chieftain. It turns out that sneak/archer doesn't work well at level one, which is a shame because I was going to blog her story in Skyrim and spent a couple of hours writing up an opening. I guess I'll have to re-use that next time I try that character, but for now I'm going to have a run with a heavily armoured paladin (1h, shield, heavy, resto).
My next character will be using the D.I.D style of gameplay for sure! It sounds so fun! Accordingly I think I'll be using a heavy armor tank-ish orc though :D
Adel Fenn, a Breton was arrested at the border this morning. Currently, Heavy Armor with lots of Destruction being used to burn Draugr, Wolves, and Bandits. The 2H Battle Axe enters play on occasion when the Magicka pool runs dry. Undecided on what additional support skills will be used. I suspect he's an Alchemist, that way he doesn't need to swap spell hands as much to keep healthy or a topped off Magicka pool. Skill focus is subject to change as this is my first attempt. It's already more fun to me, knowing I make a mistake will be a "re-roll" or whatever the TES equivalent is.
Currently toying with the "Improved Destruction" Mod. We'll see how it pans out. Good Luck to the rest of the DID players.
Gives Skyrim a kind of "Rogue-Like" feeling. Would really be there if there was a "hardcoe" mode similar to Fallout where one had to eat and such.
Well I suggest simply adding the dead chronologically, so that next time I log in I can read a couple more tombstones which are nicely and often comically phrased
but if you think it's nicer alphabetically then i suppose that's fine too :>
Just started this, good idea. Adds a lot more excitement to the game. I'm only lvl 8, had a couple close calls, but managed to pull it off so far. (on adept)
I am devastated, I just got word that, after killing two dragons, after "cleaning" Bleak Barrow Falls and some bandits nests, escaping three murders attampts, one by the Dark Brotherhood, another one by an unknown Redguard woman in an iron armour, and a third one by a scavenger near Helgen, Fallen Angel has died trying to retrieve Amren's family sword at Halted Stream Camp ... Fallen Angel
Nord, orphan
Birth: unknown
Death: Turdas, 27th of Last Seed, 4E 201
Life is no joke.
Sir Gor von Badd died when fighting a bazillion draugr in the quest to retrieve a fragment of an axe, in order to prove he was a worthy companion.
Level 20, died from a ridiculously powerful draugr deathlords power attack that must have dealt more than 180 damage. (master difficutly)
Time to get at this! I'm pumped. Last night I sort of created a char for a DID test run, but I was way too tired to take it seriously and died in the tutorial. XD I may actually DID her later, but here's my first official DID character:
Name: William Wallace
Race: Nord
Age: 30 something
Class: Pretty much exclusively Steel Greatsword (claymore)
Back story: William was born in Skyrim, but at a very young age his father died in the Great War. His uncle, Argyle, then took him on a journey across Tamriel, teaching him the ways and customs of the world, and the boy grew in mind and stature. After almost two decades of travel he returned home with the intent of living in peace. However, when crossing the border he was mistakenly captured by Imperial soldiers. William quickly learns of the Empire's disenfranchisemant and sympathizes with his countrymen's desire for independence. And now dragons are attacking, and William is determined to face his destiny. Either he will fulfill it, or die trying. He is not afraid however, because every man dies... but not every man truly lives.
Recent adventures have been fun, but unremarkable. Here are some thoughts from J’Shanji:
Rumors abound of dragons in the sky, taking livestock and burning villages. Folk speak of war, despair, and the hope that a hero will rise to save them. J’Shanji turns things he has learned through his mind.
Many heard the thunder that day on the tundra outside Whiterun. The guards also felt the tremor that drove J’Shanji to his knees. But few heard the voices moaning on the wind, Dovahkiin.
They were calling him, J’Shanji knows. It is what others say that bothers him.
Some say the Dragonborn must carry Septim blood. J’Shanji holds no ill will toward man or mer. But the thought that a furless flat-face may have sired one of his line churns the stomach. The alternative is worse. Born with a dragon’s soul, others say. J’Shanji is Khajiit. How could the gods give him the soul of a lesser creature?
The Greybeards have the answers. J’Shanji knows where to go, when he is ready.
For now, J’Shanji wants the wind in his mane and the prey running before him. The Bosmer Faendal wants the same. Today they will hunt, and leave troublesome thoughts for tomorrow.
Holmgar
A 22 year old nord warrior. He fights light armored and with honor. A greatsword was his weapon of choice.
Nord, warrior
Birth: 4E 179 16th of Heart fire
Death: Loredas, 27th of Suns dusk, 4E 201
Died to the freezing fangs of two ice wraiths in the Pale. Left without potions and allies is bad in a harsh land such as Skyrim. He was on his way to reinforce the now imperial owned Fort Greymoor.
Level: 16
Edit: forgot level and description.
Journal Entry #1
I write this as I rest a moment near a rock outside a cave entrance. I never knew so much could happen in one day. This day I will never forget as a see a real dragon fly away! I was captured by the Imperials and was sentenced to death because they thought I was a Stormcloak. They are a resistance movement against the Imperials. My head was on the chopping block and I was about to die but then a real dragon showed up and started to destroy everything! When the dragon attacked I heard the roar and the roll of thunder. It was then I felt an intense wave of energy wash over me. In the confusion I was able to escape with a fellow prisoner named Rolof.
During our escape I saw some horrible things that the Imperials were doing to the prisoners in their dungeon. I felt no pity as I had to kill a few during my escape. I now wear the same Officer’s armor that was intent of killing me. I find that very ironic. Rolof says there is a town nearby where he has family that would help us. It feels good to have a weapon and shield in my hands once again. Rolof says I should join the Stormcloaks. From what I have seen, I might have to do just that.
The dragon is gone. Rolof says we better move before Imperial reinforcements show up. I had to agree.
...And so it came to pass. Urma Gorku proved himself to Aela The Huntress, through valour on the battlefield, and honour in his heart. Tentatively, he asked if she'd be his companion, and she gladly accepted. Heartened, he showed her the Amulet of Mara around his neck, and she accepted his proposal. The two were wed. But this is not the end of their story. Aela will not allow herself to become a meagre housewife. The two became close on the battlefield, and it is on the battlefield that the two will see out their lives. First, though, Urma has a more personal mission to fulfil. It is his intention, as an expert armourer, to gather enough glass to make her a full set of armour, plus weaponry. Until that point, he has given her a full set of Falmer armour, which more than adequately shows off her curves. It is his expectation that, in forging the glass equipment for his wife, Urma will also gain enough skill in smithing to begin forging himself a set of Daedric armour. He has gathered a very small number of Daedra hearts already, though ebony is proving extremely difficult to locate.
I'm afraid I must be away from the forums, for some time.
Feel free to continue with a DID IV, if someone has the desire.
Good luck with your chars.
