Question to Americans - what things like 8/7c mean when it comes to TV broadcast time? It was spelled "eight-seven central" so I guess it has something to do with different time zones.

Yes, its a time zone thing.

Another very unique accent is Cajun...from Louisiana. Lots of French influence in it.

I love Cajun. I think it has something to do with my growing up watching the X-Men cartoon, and Gambit being one of my favourite characters.

That means the show is on the east coast. They say 8 because eastern time is at 8 then the central is the next time zone so it is at 7. But you answered your own question.

Awesome clip! Love that accent.
I don't know if the Newfoundland accent has been brought up yet, but I just thought I'd show these two clips.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHB32ll7Ce8 Allan Hawco is a Newfie with a slight accent, but this clip is about Newfie sayings.
2. I can't post a link to it because it has a swear, but if you search "newfie drinkin" on YouTube then it should be the top video. This is a near full on Newfie accent.

That's fascinating...I searched others elsewhere in addition and wound up listening to a favorite...Ashley MacIsaac...so goes the Interwebz.

Justin Wilson had a very famous Cajun cooking show:

Also heard pretty thick with some on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KzeYrjfN9s...from the History Channel.

I find it to be a fascinating dialect.

I find real true Cajuns very difficult to understand. I had a great friend who I use to talk to quite often who was from the swamps and ooo wee! It sounded like he was talking a different language all together sometimes. lol He sounded like some of the guys on that Swamp People show. Really smart guy though people seemed to dismiss him because of his accent.
And omg, I just realized who you linked to! I use to LOVE watching Justin Wilson! lol Which I guess was obvious with my 'ooo wee' comment. Thanks for posting that link.. total nostalgia. :)

lol And I use to say "you all" until I was about 10 and made friends with a girl from South Carolina. Now I say "ya'll" and if I try to say "you all" it just sounds so odd. (And that was like 20+ years ago so, I'm thinking it's going to stick.)

I always though they sounded like they had cotton balls in their mouth. I was scared to death of cajuns as a kid when I was growing up in West Florida, I liked their food though :)

Here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03iwAY4KlIU is what the most traditional of my people sound like. I do wish I could have been raised in a time when my accent wouldn't have been beaten out of me.
RIP Popcorn.
