Some bugs for breakfast;

-Windhelm: exited from windhelm to skyrim through the door that leads to the docks and fell through the ground after the load screen finished. I could still walk around and change perspective, game still worked... I was just underneath the city looking up at the foundations. I could even walk all the way to the palace without having to load or go through any doors. As soon as I walked to where the docks were (outside the city) I turned around and everything was back to normal. Couldn't replicate it though.

-Looking for Ri-Saad as part of the Thieves Guild sidequests, I found him East of Markarth...walking thirty feet in the air. I had to jump to bring up the talk menu and while talking he stayed up there looking down on me (with utter contempt for my filthy land loving ways). Damned kittehs.

I have a new one too:

I was playing the Nchuand-Zel: The Lost Expedition quest and for some reason I received two of each quest item (i.e. Alethius' Notes, Erj's Journal, etc) . It didn't do anything to hurt the game but it was odd.


Oh yeah, had that one too.

Here's one...

I got an "Animal Extermination" quest from Aela the Huntress. It's your average, go kill a sabre cat, quest.

So I get to the place, the sabre cat is dead, body empty, and the quest arrow just points at him. Well I can't get credit for killing it because it's already dead.

So... my entire freaking Companion line is absolutely ruined until this stupid cat is either reset or one day respawns. Yes, it's gamebreaking, as the character was actually designed for the purpose of doing the Companion quests.

This one made my Dark Brotherhood Questline unable to be completed. I cannot "kill" Ennodius Papius one of the first contracts. I tried it on my level 53 save and the game registers him as dead but it won't update the quest. I can't pickpocket him when crouching because the game registers him as dead. I can turn him into a zombie and kill him again so the game is recognizing him as dead but still the questline won't update. So I went back to a level 41 save before I completed the Civil War/ Alduin quests and it still won't update. I've killed him with a mace, Mjoll and with magic and still nothing. I've sunk over 140 hours into the game now and it is absolute bull that I can't finish the Dark Brotherhood quest. This is completely unacceptable. Anyone have any ideas?

Nope. My friend lost 3 solid days of gameplay though because his Shadowmere just simply disappeared. From some odd reason, he didn't realize it for 3 full days, or his saves with Shadowmere became corrupt.

Moral: When you get Shadowmere, save your game.

But ya, it svcks for my guy... he is level 81, full Daedric, etc. (on PS3). He's the leader of the Companions, and as I was doing the rest of the quests to get the werewolf totems, I get that stupid animal extinction one that is bugged. So ya... that character is trash unless that bug gets fixed.

Let's not mention the mage I made when I first got the game, who ends up with an extraordinarily underwhelming 250 Armor Rating with the stupid Mage Armor.

I suppose I could always go back to playing my 81 thief, or just some other game, until some of these bugs get fixed. Some of the bugs are cool, and even turn into little Easter Eggs. But some of them are nowhere near as fun, and really put a damper on the game.

i'm having the companion problem as well, as for alteration though, get it to 100 and you'll be able to do the alteration ritual, which you will be able to get dragonhide: which negates 80% of physical damage.

I've got a couple of new ones. At the Whiterun stables, there is one Louis Letresh (sp?), one day there were two. Today I finally pressed forward with the mainline story and killed the dragon and went to go sack Whiterun witht the Stormcloaks and there are now three of Louis. They all have slightly different inventory but it's all the same guy. Since the latest patch I've noticed random arrows pointed straight up at lots of places. Mostly iron, but there were a few steel. They weren't stuck in the ground, they were just standing straight up on point just at ground level.

I don't know if it's a bug, but I go to the Thieves guild and the buisiness ledger says "activate". Press to activate and nothing. I've been guild master for quite a while and have done many quests for them. Is there a point that it is supposed to do something? I find it funny that I'm running the show and still treated by the NPC's as a newb... Can you actually run anything there? /endrandomaside


300+ hours in and I'm still content with the game aside from the random freezing and framerate issues. Those seem to have gotten worse for me since the patch, just hit 14MB.





Update to previous glitch, I don't know which part of the pressing forward did it, but Vilkas is no longer pursuing me. I became Thane of Whiterun, killed my first dragon, and sacked Whiterun all within the past couple of hours... Hopefully I can now continue the Companions questline without being denied fast travel...

I had that as well, but it was when I picked up the physical object and it still registered on the corpse.

Found a minor glitch recently, the war maps aren't updating properly. i just finished the Falkreath mission for the Stormcloaks and the map banner is blue but it still say Imperial. I noticed it when I took Whiterun as well, as that didn't update at all. I could see if it was some, it's an outpost and they don't have good intel... but it's the main map at HQ. Still finding the random arrows in odd places as well. it seems to be getting more prevelant. I'm up to 16MB now.

Edit: The arrows are now showing up in town as opposed to just in "the world".

Stealth is somewhat wonky/broken on mine.
The sneaking icon spazes from hidden, to detected, to nothing to back to hidden and so on.

Bug:

If you put on the "mage robe" and at the same time one of the priest masks your face becomes invisible/transparent.
Graphics disapear.

Found a new bug this morning myself. Killed a dragon and it must have been stuck in its ragdoll animation because it would not burn up and give me its soul, it just laid there. Also I have been playing the game for around 60+ hours and have encountered a random dagon only twice. I hear from my friends that they get attacked often. I walk everywhere and have only fast traveled a few times and I am rarely attacked. Hopefully the update this week has the remedy and if not I hope Bethesda is reading this. Thanks for all your hard work guys, still my GOTY even after these issues.

I experienced this same issue traveling from Riften to the Standing Stone. I also can't absorb a shout, very frustrating.



I just killed the dragon that was formerly perched atop the word wall at Lost Tongue Overlook, and now I'm unable to absorb the shout. The animation begins however it never successfully delivers the shout. In addition, when trying to initiate the Trinity Restored quest of the Thieves Guild quest series Karliah greets me at the Standing Stone with, "I'm glad you're here." and then the game freezes and I'm left with no other option than to restart the game. I've restarted from several other save points and receive the same results.

I tried to move the game along by initiating the Elder Knowledge Main Quest Act 2 that I was completing synchronously and I've reached another stopping point. I'm unable to receive the Effects of the Elder Scrolls and Ruminations on the Elder Scrolls from Urag gro-Shub in the Arcanaeum. He walks over to the book case, then to his desk and say's here you go, but they are never added to my inventory. I really would like to resolve these issues without having to start from the beginning. Has anyone experienced any of these issues?

Don't know if this will help, but on some of the Word Walls, I have to move right up until I am nearly touching the wall in order for the animation to complete. A few feet further back and it just keeps running.

Urag puts them on the desk in front of him :) Well he did for me anyways. They weren't added to my inventory. I only noticed cause I happened to be staring blankly at the desk and they just appeared in front of my eyes and Urag started talking about them in his usually, depressing, orcish way :D

But er gotta annoying bug here. Been collecting some books for Urag's misc mission "Find Me Those Books" and have already picked up the book before the quest started :/ Didn't know it was to do with his mission just thought it was a skill book. Only now he wants it and the marker always points to a chest at Greenspring Hollow but the book never respawns in it.... plus the books a quest item, can't drop it, and I can't give I to Urag.... maybe he thinks i forged it in my Khajiit ways :D Buut I can't finish this misc mission to start a new book finding fun loving misc quest :( It can easily be ingonered but... well i'm a super Khajiit Mage and like doing all the College quests :D

1 enthir will not show the dialogue to trade or sell (I'm not archmage)
2 arniel skips the dialogue to activate his " arneils endeavor" quest I get kicked out of dialouge
3 I do not get to acess the dialogue to start "drowned sorrows"

4 Alduin does not break the wall in the tower at the start of the game and you are stuck

I fast travel quite often and i get attacked so much it's damn annoying. Let's put it this way i made both sets of dragon armor, improved it, and i still had about 20 bones/scales left. Maybe it's the fast traveling, but I'm not sure.

My sleeping tree has no spigot , so no wonder drug for me .
I looked it up on youtube just to be sure I wasn't missing it . On my tree where the spigot should be is just a discolored spot .
I know , it's a somewhat minor glitch , but annoying after spending the better part of an hour tracking the place down and messing around trying to find the stupid spigot thing .

My game has started making a loud obnoxious noise every time I go into sneak mode .
My arrows now bounce off creatures , while it still damages them it's annoying that I now have to look around to pick up my arrows , makes the Hunter's Discipline perk worthless .

The few glitches i got are:

- During the quest in windhelm, blood on the ice, i think it is called; i didn't go through the right steps i guess. so the amulet i got was never identified. so it is just unidentified amulet or whatever. lol. i still completed it but still.

- i did the bard college side quests to get the instruments and i completed them (and got their rewards), only problem is they never left my invitory.. it takes up like 10 weight, so that is annoying. i tried seeing if it will let me claim the rewards again, but no dice.

quest items are weightless , so thats just inventory clutter

except the fact i can't get rid of them. lol. it's a glitch as to the fact they were supposed to be outta my inventory when i completed the quests.
