It's good in terms of story and 40's / 50's atmosphere and music. But it's way to linear and short for a sandbox game. After you beat main story in 10 hours, there is nothing more to do in the game. Gameplay wise, if you've played any Rockstar game, you've already seen everything. Drive from A to B, kill some mobster, escape from police. That's mostly it.

Well considering the feel, lets blow up mafia and call it Fallout New Vegas.

Grab F1 2010 and do a full 7 year contract in it. That will take bloody forever.

OH, and set it on full race weekends. And don't skip any sessions.

I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles II, though that's a bit more than a "distraction". It's a fine game in every way.

I might replay Fallout 1 or 2. Might roam around in 3.

I'm so kneedeep in VtMB and Planescape: Torment that if I'm not careful, I'll miss the release.

Other than games, I started another writing project and I've been making some music with a couple of friends - and sometimes drinking quite fiendishly . The usual timekillers.

Just picked up Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam for $7, so probably some of that. Mostly work and going out with friends, though.

Yup downloading it right now. And While thats going I got school and I'm starting my job tommorrow so I'll have plenty of distractions. Of course as important as school and work are NV will be the distraction when it comes out lol.

Playing Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead and a bit of Warcraft 3. I was planning on getting ArcaniA: Gothic 4 but the demo was absolutely terrible.

Really? I thought that I might pick it up once it's in the bargin bin. The demo wasn't that bad, what made you not like it?

I think i might pick up an instrument. (drums, guitar or keyboard) i've yet to decide which though. :mohawk:

I cant afford anything at the moment so new things are out of the question. Ill stick with bad company and rock band up until FO:NV.

Gonna recommend guitar, I like drums and keyboard but of all instruments the most likely to be around is a guitar and knowing a tune or two is always nice, makes life more fun if you can just pick up an instrument and get playing, not many drum sets lying around and few pianos or keyboards outside of Suburbia...

On topic, game wise I'm killing time with FF13 and Dragon Age Origins, also raging at the fact they are both classed as RPG's. Seriously guys, I like em both (surprised me, was expecting to dislike FF13) but my god, they are completely different, to classify them both as the same type of game is pathetic, FF13 has more in common with action/adventure games for christs sake...hell all the FF's do.

Outside of gaming just studying up on philosophy and physics, you know how well those two mesh...

The only time in which I won't be at all bothered by anticipation for New Vegas is if I'm extremely busy or playing one of my video games. Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, usually. ;]

But yeah, I'm really excited for the game to come out-even though I probably wont' be getting it for another couple of months.

I'm playing life until new vegas, going to work and bringing home a paycheck, boring, but with enough grinding I might be able to beat it.

Great Southern Trendkill is great and so are Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power. Truly some of the greatest thrash metal albums. Rock on!

Playing Halo: Reach, DnD, and doing homework.

Although I don't really start freaking out about a game until a few days away (probably Sat. or Sun.), but I am starting to feel excited for it. Just a bit.

My computer was busted for along time just got it back. My other older computers can't handle this forum. Everything is so slow. Going back to College has also taken edge off. Buying books on Zombies has also helped take the edge off. " Day by Day Armageddon" and "Day by Day Armageddon Beyond Exile" are awesome.

Day by Day Armageddon by J. L. Bourne. They are short novels around 200 pages. Great Zombie books.

I'm playing Alpha Protocol. I don't know why everyone dislikes it the game itself is pretty good except for a few minute things, it probably could have used some more polish and development time but if it came out before Mass Effect I know it would be the RPG with shooting mechanics that everyone would be crapping their pants over. (With that extra bit of dev time for polishing first of course.) :tops:

I think for one of Obsidian's bigger endeavors Alpha Protocol was a step in the right direction that could have used more development time and funding that SEGA wasn't willing to give them, I hope they end up making another game like Alpha Protocol one day. (I hate when companies force developers to push a game out the door. It only creates buggy, half-assed games that end up getting canned because of it.)
