I'm playing Alpha Protocol. I don't know why everyone dislikes it the game itself is pretty good except for a few minute things, it probably could have used some more polish and development time but if it came out before Mass Effect I know it would be the RPG with shooting mechanics that everyone would be crapping their pants over. (With that extra bit of dev time for polishing first of course.) :tops:

I think for one of Obsidian's bigger endeavors Alpha Protocol was a step in the right direction that could have used more development time and funding that SEGA wasn't willing to give them, I hope they end up making another game like Alpha Protocol one day. (I hate when companies force developers to push a game out the door. It only creates buggy, half-assed games that end up getting canned because of it.)

I've seen some gameplay footage of that game and I have to agree. As I have said all along though I cant help but get the feeling if SEGA had stayed away it might have reached its potential and beyond.

Great Southern Trendkill is great and so are Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power. Truly some of the greatest thrash metal albums. Rock on!

Awesome someone else who loves those guys they kick so much ass. :mohawk:

Been playing Fallout 3 for the last couple of weeks. It's been ages since I played and I wanted to re-familiarize myself with the controls, gameplay, and atmosphere to help prepare for NV. Plus I just wanted to do a lot of the things I had never done before. New character has about 30 hours of gameplay, level 14 I think. Gonna keep playing him until level 20, then do the rest of the MQ and any major sidequests that I feel I need to do or redo. After that, depending on how long it takes, I may start a negative karma female in F3 and mess around a bit, just because I never played an evil character or a female before, so I want to see the game from that perspective before NV takes over my gaming life.

Oh and I got the complete Harry Potter books as read by Stephen Fry, so I'm listening to those as well. Hopefully I'll be done by the 19th (currently about halfway through Order of the Phoenix and plowing through at a pretty rapid pace).

Gonna recommend guitar, I like drums and keyboard but of all instruments the most likely to be around is a guitar and knowing a tune or two is always nice, makes life more fun if you can just pick up an instrument and get playing, not many drum sets lying around and few pianos or keyboards outside of Suburbia...

On topic, game wise I'm killing time with FF13 and Dragon Age Origins, also raging at the fact they are both classed as RPG's. Seriously guys, I like em both (surprised me, was expecting to dislike FF13) but my god, they are completely different, to classify them both as the same type of game is pathetic, FF13 has more in common with action/adventure games for christs sake...hell all the FF's do.

Outside of gaming just studying up on philosophy and physics, you know how well those two mesh...

You are right about the lack of drums kits, but i cant help myself. But i do have a keyboard and a terrible guitar in the house somewhere. I might learn both guitar and keyboard nothing better to do. Maybe some Who songs. :mohawk:

In related gaming news i've FC pinball wizard and im putting a few hours aside this weekend to play Fallout. Perhaps some BFBC2 aswell.

Lots of Halo: Reach. I plan on getting Dead Rising 2 this weekend as well. The last few weeks are always the worst. You see, this is why someone should've invented time travel by now.

Well I started using this forum after I heard about FNV to help vent some of that hype.
Now I got school to keep me busy, in fact, with all the work, soccer, and some gamefly games I've really calmed down. :twirl:

I'm am running out of stuff to do during my free time! Work and girl aside, I have replayed almost all the games on my shelf. Picked up the new Halo and Dead Rising 2 and that's keeping me occupied. Maybe I'll take up crime fighting...

Besides studying again, went back to school even though I'm becoming an old fart lol, nothing.
Still got a couple of games lying around here that I still need to finish but I just don't feel like it.
My mind is with F:NV and it'll probably stay that way till release.

Started playing Mafia 1 all over again and I'm just at the last mission but I don't even find the courage to return to that one for now.
Never expected it but looks like I'm getting obsessed with F:NV

I'm reading the Road by Cormac McCarthy, which I've found to be a very good post-apocalyptic novel so far.

I have a few rentals to keep me busy. Dead Space, Final Fantasy XIII, and MLB 10: The Show. My free-trial with Blockbuster runs out on the 17th, so these games will pretty much lead me right into the release of New Vegas.

blockbuster is giving free trials? wow they are right on top of that chapter 11 bankruptcy paymet.

Trolling the forums here, watching vids of Starcraft 2 and random FO3 stuff on the youtubes (my PC died, I can't play anything until my new one gets here).

Typed up a post for the "How are you keeping sane etc." thread just before it got locked. Boo, now I cant post it without putting this preface or I really will come across as a nutcase. Not that I'm not.

Errr, wait...

Spoiler
Why?! Who told you I wasn't sane? It was them, wasn't it? Don't deny it, I know you're one of them now, trying to crawl into my brain like worms, all fat and white and full of head juice. I'm on to you, I'm on to ALL of you.

Perfectly sane. Per-per-perrrrrrfectly. Yes innn-deedy. No need to check your closet either, I won't be there, no I wont, not one LITTLE BIT.

Watching the entire ST: Voyager series. It's not as bad as I remember it, but still no DS9. Also playing through Batman: AA, Dead Space and assorted internet games.

Whenever someone asks "Picard or Kirk?" I always like to be a smarta** and say Janeway.

I have something to distract me from NV, but it's not very good. Diablo 2. Unfortunately I have spend thousands of hours in Diablo so it's not working super great. I'm also playing some Fallout 3, but that's not working either :shakehead:

edit- I forgot about MW2. :gun: I can't wait for Black Ops either

I actually really like Janeway. Of course I tend to gravitate towards strong female characters.

I have that book also! Have you seen the movie? That is a great book with an excellent plot which REALLY reminds me of fallout3! The whole father and son deal, I wonder if the guy who wrote the book is a fallout fan...As for my distraction I play starcraftII and fallout 3 still LOL, also work is a pretty good distraction while I wait for fallout:NV :user: Problem with having a job, never have enough time to play these games, but at the same time work is a good distraction while I wait for the new releases!
