The Unofficial Ulfric Fangirl Thread

Post » Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:55 pm

Two can play that game after all, and he might find out in the end that HE was the one who got played. :P

Well, I guess you saw where I put my Nord in the link above. ;)

OK, that's pretty cute, you Dork. She even hit the umlaut o - impressive.

The ?? That's a perfectly normal letter on a Swedish keyboard. You know, we have these weird habit of putting dots and circles above some letters and pretend we made up new ones. The French have their accents graves et acutes, we have dots.

I just can't see Ulfric marrying a non-Nord when his whole deal is Nords ruling Skyrim. That would set a bad precedent and open up inheritance questions for any heir. I could see him feeling pressure to marry an imperial Nord, though. After all, a Stormcloak dovahkiin is already in his court, throwing favor his way- he wouldn't need to marry her to have that influence. But ultimately I think he would go with the chance to have his line be made up of thu'um-wielding überNords.

I agree here. I plan on letting him having affairs with every female Dragonborn I throw his way, but I likely won't have him marry (or, rather, RP an engagement) with the Dunmer, or (if I ever play them and they turn out to be Dragonborn) the Redguard, the Bosmer, the Altmer or the Orc... (The Breton is already married, so that's out of the question anyway.) I think an alliance with a prominent Nord family is likely, actually. And as you say, it might very well be one of the Imperial supporting ones. Ingun Black-Briar?

After the war was over, Ulfric and I decided to have a very private exchange of vows in the most appropriate place available. We'll do the big public wedding later, after the Moot, right? (And also because the "marry Ulfric" mod made him do some rather... er... odd things, like decide to walk all the way back to Riften on a daily basis, forcing me to go fetch him home on more than one occasion. And it made it impossible for me to dismiss him as a follower when used in conjunction with UFO. It also gave him a strange penchant for putting his "prisoner of the Legion" gag back on without warning. Maybe it was a hint that I should pay a visit to Haelga and have a look at her line of... er... accessories. I dunno. But anyway...)

We meet in Windhelm on the big day:

And then someone decided to play a Chubby Checker record...

After which we sent inside and made it official, at least for the two of us.

Is that huge Talos statue in the vanilla game? It seems vaguely familiar, but I'm betting it's a mod. o.O

Way to denigrate your child's achievement, Mother of the Year. We have to do funky things here to get umlauts over stuff. I usu just put an "e" after the letter on the rare occasions that I type a german word. :P

Temple of Talos in Windhelm. (Speaking of the small annoying things - the priestess there claims Ulfric prays there on a regular basis. Wouldn't it have been great if he had a schedule where he actually did go there every day instead of just slouching all day long? Something for a modder? Maybe it's already been done, what do I know...)

I never ever exaggerate when it comes to my children's achievements. Never. :P
I know about the funky things. My last name (which isn't Winter :o) contains a letter that isn't in the Swedish alphabet. I don't know how many times I've explained to people how to type it...

The one in Windhelm's Talos shrine? That's real. Dude, don't you visit Talos shrines? You need to check in with your inner Lorkhan once in a while.

Hey! Now I'm a bit disappointed, I half expected to see Ulfric go barbarian with an axe and a loincloth.

I was so gobsmacked when that happened, and then laughing so hard, that I didn't take any screenies. Suddenly Nudist Ulfric in full combat mode does tend to make one forget how to perform otherwise normal functions.

Temple of Talos in Windhelm. (Speaking of the small annoying things - the priestess there claims Ulfric prays there on a regular basis. Wouldn't it have been great if he had a schedule where he actually did go there every day instead of just slouching all day long? Something for a modder? Well I have no clue how to do that. Yet. But it's worth looking into. I don't know if it's something I could figure out how to do and then add into the Ulfric mod I'm already using... which will let me put him in "relax" mode if he's following me, in which case he'll just sandbox around whatever cell he's in. But I'd love to make him do other stuff as a part of his regular schedule. Like, you know, EAT, which he never seems to do. I don't know, though, there are so many scripted things that happen when you first go to Windhelm and enter the Palace, his conversations with Galmar about the war... I don't know if having him leave the Palace at a certain time would screw that up if you happened to wander in there at a time when a scripted convo would normally happen, only he's not there because he's in the Temple having some quiet time with the Lord.

Shh. Let him stay. He could be converted.

All part of my evil plan.

I'm actually surprised we haven't had any out and out haters yet.

Ah. I may have seen it because it does look familiar. I'm pretty bad about exploring...especially Windhelm because it's so annoying. I like the blessings OK, but I usu either wear an Amulet of Talos or use Throw Voice (fast cooldown). Plus, the map is so huge the blessing is almost expired by the time I arrive at my destination.

I never ever exaggerate when it comes to my children's achievements. Never.
That's an American thing. We have to protect our children's egos by not keeping score in sporting events when they're younger and putting bumper stickers on our cars that say stuff like, "My child is on the honor roll at X Elementary.", "My child has perfect attendance at X Elementary." or "My child has 70% of their advlt teeth already.". OK, I made the last one up, but you get the idea. I'm sure you've noticed the results of the coddling by how easily people's noses get bent out of joint when you offer the slightest criticism here.

?h ja we do!

My current character hasn't made it outside of Whiterun Hold yet, so I'm enjoying everyone else's screenies and stories until I have some more of my own. The last time I played an Ulfric-crazy 'Cloak was way back before I got sick and couldn't play for about 6 weeks. That's like Ages in Skyrim time.

Lariah the Tested is a Redguard who saw something special fell into hard lust with Ulfric in the wagon. (Yeah, I know. I tried to come up with a unique story but really, what else is there? "Ugh, my head. Wait - where am I? Where are we going? What is -- Woah! That is a MAN! OMG. THAT is Ulfric Stormcloak?? Holy-- Okay, I know what I'll be doing just as soon as I work on my mad fighting skillz. Sweeeet!" Yeah.)

I just happened to think about the cart ride today, I mean, you're unconscious, right? You're slumped over, right? But what are you slumped over on? Who's that sitting right next to you?

That's right, ladies, you were slumped over on the shoulder of the true Hot High King of Skyrim. And possibly, you know, bleeding and drooling on him and stuff.

...

Well, look at it this way. At least he already knows if you snore, so it won't be such an awful surprise later on. :P

Nice... really shows off the green eyes, which are often hard to see when playing. I wouldn't even know he had green eyes if I hadn't seen it in the CK.

LOL! So true! And I never thought about being slumped over on him. Oh, Ulfric, you had me at "mmmrrph!"

Nice... really shows off the green eyes, which are often hard to see when playing. I wouldn't even know he had green eyes if I hadn't seen it in the CK.

I love the CK. I made an Ulfric mannequin for the house I'm making. Then it occurred to me that it might be just a tad immersion-breaking while playing. Or my character is a psycho if she has a house full of Ulfrics. For a joke, I thought about making a really big Ulfric and putting him next to my personal Talos shrine.
