Things you miss from previous fallout games that wasnt inclu

Post » Sun Sep 07, 2008 1:53 am

I actually have two things i really miss. The first being the Raiders i mean yeah they was a pain in the ass in FO3 at times but i miss the fact that they could be around any corner, the majority of foes in NV are creatures in the wasteland. Lets face it the Fiends just dont quite cut it as being raiders there not really organised they svck as a faction.Second of all dogmeat not the dopey useless fallout 3 dogmeat the fallout dogmeat reliable and wacky,Rex is okay but no where close to dogmeat by my standards.

Okay so you get the idea, dunno if this has been done but im betting money on it has.

Talon Company

totally dont miss these.. it always seemed unrealistic that an organised, well equipped unit like that would be no different from raiders with wanting to murder everything.

Imagine what Obsidian could have done with them... so much potential...

Yeah the whole "hired to cause chaos in the CW" was really a HUGE waste of potential.

I dont understand you at all, are you blinded by radiation poisoning. You seem to have general respect and love for the Talon Company. There a bunch of [censored] [censored] wankers who will kill, try to kill anyone their boss tells them too.

I can't really think of one tbh, as NV is its own game like every FO title in the series.
That and so far I've faced super mutants, raiders and assassins all over, I like the weapons in NV just as much and all my favourites are in.

Hmmm..
Ok perks for silly things like grave robing or just for roleplaying none to few bonuses with them, they're just there to add flavour and maybe offer new dialogue like FO1 & 2.
More random encounters, but tbh NV areas seem to change after you visit them that I no longer miss the random ones as I find new things all the time.
Multipule companions, but not really as one is enough in NV imo.
All towns having unmarked quests, but again in NV most do anyway or as said above change over time, so I'm just being greedy here.
Some combat tactics that FO tactics had, such as prone, climb.. etc.
six as a weapon, or in all the towns but a few quests already let you use it as a weapon of choice.
Barter with anyone, just enter dialogue and say want to by a pistol? sorry you don't have enough caps but I'll take that rope off of you for this knife.

Hey, it's the Wasteland, money talks. They kill who they are contracted to kill, that is discipline. Discipline of that level is very respectable. So I guess you hate Charon too? He obeyed his contract obediently, does that make him evil? Talon Company Mercs obey their contracts, and get their paycheck; I fail to see what is so evil about being a good employee.

Damage types and corresponding resistance levels for armor. For example, fire, electricity, bullets, plasma, etc. being a specific type of damage and certain armors being better at resisting certain types than others. (From FO1/2)

Indeed, what name did you pick? It was always between "Wolf" and "Mantis" for me.

Node based world map - FO3 and FONV seem too scrunched up like amusemant parks (FO3 especially). It works for TES where it's more believable for a fantasy game to be more localized with shorter distances between towns. The "open world" concept is way overrated.

Everything else I could do without, but things that would've been nice:
Multiple companions, though I understand the need for the limit because they would make you too powerful in FO3/FONV.
The Highwayman.
Groin shots.
Wanamingos.
Boxing quest.
pormstar quest.

I miss that as well along with other traits/reputations (nicknames) that come from things like Boxing, fighting with the shi, making porm, grave robbing and made man. At least in FO New Vegas we get perks for our actions. Having people call me by my nickname.

I miss the makeshift weapons of FO3, there are some rarities remaining but I was hoping for a whole new set of do it yourself tools of mass destruction. Clearly the overwhelming focus was as many conventional firearms as possible instead :/

I would prefer a map system more like in Borderlands, but different. the map node system, IMO, is outdated and too slow-paced and withdrawn from interaction.
Edit: and Talon Company

Totally the Super Mutant Behemoths in FO3. I mean the giant death claws like the mother and alpha kinda took its place, but I miss taking teddy bears from certain shopping cart cages spawning a certain giant monster.... with a fire hydrant... :ahhh:
