Time for some spoilers form the latest beta.

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 7:06 am

Next DLC will be called Dragonborn. It is set in Solstheim. Main locations are Raven Rock, Miraak Temple, Castle Karstaag and Telvanni Tower. You will might be able to ride dragons. Also, new armor types, possibly horse (?) Bomemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim.

PS3 DLC will come soon and so will mounted spell casting.

This could, of cause, be an elaborate troll on Bethesda's part! The naming in Translate_*.txt is correct though, http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=85626061&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch

You will be able to ride dragons.
Let's say this is true. That area is going to have to be far larger than what Skyrim is. One of the mods here did an experiment. He did a levitation CC and he set the running speed to the same speed the dragons fly at. It took him about 30 seconds to get across Skyrim length wise. So this DLC is going to have to be the same size as San Andreas and the dragons would have to fly a little faster than the Dodo plane.

IDK how Telvanni tower fits in though, isn't that in the middle of Vivec?

Yeah, IDK how dragon flying is going to work, but the mechanics are there in game. Maybe the idea was scrapped?

If it is added, it will have to be very limited. Because when you fly over cities, it'll look really bad.

Nah, a Telvanni Tower is a giant-spiraling plant that a powerful wizard (obviously from House Telvanni) grows into the shape of a tower: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs41/f/2009/047/9/4/Telvanni_Tower_by_Demi_urgic.jpg

That's probably just a cell name, a tower called "Telvanni Tower" make absoultely no sense, so (if this is all real...) it's probably going to have a proper name in-game.

Ahhhh ok, I did wonder! The marker ID just says "TelvanniTowerMarker", so you're most likely correct

If it is really Solstheim, than it wouldn't be surprising to see Telvanni refugees and their towers up there.

Anyway, can any other Computer Archmage check up on this?

In current lore there are a large amount of Dunmer who migrated to Solthseim, so it is more likely than not the Telvanni set up camp there and decided to grow a new wierd, big plant to live in.

Still tough, it is possible. Dawnguard features got spoiled this way.
And seeing how Solstheim changed a great lot in 200 years (it practically became a new homeland for many Dark Elves), it is a legit location.

I am sceptical of course, which is why I hope someone will check all this.

Assuming you did get this info from 1.8 beta, I'd believe it... this is how Dawnguard stuff was discovered was it not.

Would the PC beta have info related to the PS3 in its files? Did the earlier betas have Kinect info in their files?

Yeah it is and was (I think).

There are references to new creatures too, Riekling, Scrib (lol), Netch.. etc, but you can check this out yourself

The interface files are common across all platforms (check SDK in my sig). Kinect menus are in the version of Skyrim you're running, but they're just not (able to be) used.
