TweakGuides' Skyrim tweak guide by Koroush Ghazi

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, it may help some, it may not. Not everyone's system is the same, so this guide is a small "at your own risk" type of deal. Yes, he has helped me and other's on tweaking games but he is not a miracle worker, so don't expect anything to walk on water.

Also, I respect opinions and I do allow them here, but there is a difference between a honest, civil opinion and a rant/bash of the guide and the author. If you have something to say, comment or opinion, be it in a positive manner, not making a post a monkey with half a brain would make. Also, consider this before you go all gun-ho on the guide:

****************************************************************************************************************

Oh noooo!....

The tweak guide points folks to a general optimization guide for Windows, and in that PDF it covers.... gasp..... Component STRESS Tools to make sure your hardware is actually stable and operating correctly.

Wonder if all the people that took a snip all over http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1303107-extreme-component-testing-cpu-ram-gpu/page__view__findpost__p__19611751 are going to have another brain aneurysm at being told that maybe it's a good idea to test their equipment for proper operation before they make assumptions that something else (like a piece of software) is the only cause or the root cause.

Anyhoo...

Not working for me. He hasn't updated his site, so maybe it isn't supposed to be available yet.

I'm guessing it's not supposed to be linking to the GeForce website?

Thing is, Nvidia hired him to make guides for games after his little "retirement" from tweaking.

So yes, but I am literally looking at the page right now. Wonder why Nvidia took it down and why it is not working since I clicked on it and it takes me to the guide :confused:

The GeForce link doesn't work for me--just shows up as blank.

..Maybe it's because it knows I use AMD. Lol.

Blank for me, and I've been using his site for a while. Great place to go if you're looking to squeeze that extra bit of performance out of Windows and Oblivion.

Nah, still only shows a generic GeForce tweaks list, Skyrim's not on it.

I bat for the Red Team anyway :D

Seems like nvidia removed the page for some reason.... BTW don't expect anything new, it was all known tweaks, but with a lot of very useful side-by-side comparations!

What I like about this guy's guides, besides the excellent comparisons, is that he takes the time to explain every single setting so that you can make an informed decision on your own.

What did he take it down? I guess it wasn't ready.

tweakguides has been an essential Oblivion resource for almost as long as I owned the game. Dude's an absolute hero.

I was wondering where this guy went. He's always had very reliable and informative guides on .ini tweaking. Nice. Thanks for the post.

EDIT: From his site - "I want to apologize for the delays in releasing the Skyrim Tweak Guide. I'm very disappointed that things have turned out this way, but at the moment it is beyond my control. The guide should hopefully be out shortly. For those of you having problems with Skyrim right now and expecting some sort of fix to be in the guide, please remember that many issues can only be fixed via patches.

Update: On a positive note, the delay has allowed me to add a couple more tweaks to the guide and refine it a bit more, so it hasn't been all bad.
"

They leaning on him or something wacky?

I like this tweak (unlock high resolution world map):

Add the following to the bottom of Skyrim.ini :

[MapMenu]
uLockedObjectMapLOD=8
uLockedTerrainLOD=8
fMapWorldMaxHeight=150000.0000
fMapWorldMinHeight=1500.0000
fMapWorldZoomSpeed=0.2000

If so that is not the TweakGuide from Koroush.....still waiting for that one.

His tweak guides were good at one time. Now it's just logical crap. (settings that are in the game options)

He also screwed his community by shutting down his forums. People looking for help and whatnot.

Ask him how he feels about the 300 movie, lol you'll love it. Typical over-paid [censored].

Yea man, his BF3 tweakguide was off the hizzy!!

Plenty of guides at that link, none of which have anything to do with skyrim.
