Unique weapon ideas

My main bother with this game is that there weren't too many... I dunno, "tactical" weapons, I guess you could put it that way. There was the Marksman Carbine, the Service rifle, the pistols... and that's about it.

I'd put in a special 10mm submachine gun with silencer, tactical sight, elevated damage, 2.5x critical hit chance, and it fires in bursts. Put some armor piercing bullets in the son of a [censored] and you've got a low-caliber weapon that even Deathclaws would fear.

A bigger, meaner version of the 9mm would be nice, too.

A weapon that burst-fired weak Tesla beams would be similarly awesome.

Just for clarification, I'm intentionally only giving basic ideas for weapon damage. I don't want the weapons to be absurdly powerful... I would like for Obsidian to consider some of these after all. Despite how unlikely that is.

9mm Tactical SMG - Based on the MP5

30, 9mm magazine
Reflex Sight
Three round burst
High DPS/Moderate DAM
Special: +5% Accuracy
Two Hand

The big daddy of the SMG collection. It makes use of the 9mm cartridge for late game much like the Marksman Carbine does for the 5.56mm round. MP5's are accurate as all getout too hence the accuracy bonus.

The Suppressor - Based on the M60
50, .308 magazine
Iron Sights
Automatic
High DAM/High DPS
Two Hand

The big brother of the Light Machinegun, this monster fires a larger round from a belt-fed magazine. Designed to keep the enemy's head down in a firefight, just make sure you're watching your ammo because it'll go quick.

Concussion Rifle

5, Energy Cell magazine
Night Scope, x1 magnification
Single shot
High DAM/ Low DPS
Two Hand

A new addition to the Energy Weapons family, this weapon is designed to compress the air between the user and the target causing massive internal trauma on impact. Think of it as an explosion, minus the exploding part. The shockwave is what kills.

Stealth Carbine - Based on the G36K

30, 5.56mm magazine
2.5x magnification scope
Three round burst
Moderate DAM/Moderate DPS
Two Hand
Silenced
Laser Dot

This German creation was designed for the soldier in mind. Made of lightweight polymer parts with a built-in scope, silencer, and laser aiming dot; any fairly trained person can be deadly with this weapon. The only downside is the lessened damage compared to other firearms of this caliber. Of course, the silencer would help you get a drop on your target so there would be less to worry about.

!H!MG (or something less stupid)
basically a unique light machinegun with massive power, a slower fire rate, a much smaller magazine, a more expensive round(don't want to say .50mg), and ST of 10, guns of 100. Obviously a weapon such as this should be very heavy, large, and UNbalanced in effectiveness and practicality. ie: effectiveness>practicality

They would've needed to make a whole new ammo type (.45 ACP) to include it without butchering the gun. I really don't know why they didn't though... I would've loved to have it. Not to mention that having the new ammo type would open the game up to add a UMP and Colt 1911.

That and the Infiltrator/Perforator (I mean it's already in the game I just can't get to it :banghead: ) would be nice.

DPS 260 (I dunno how DPS is calculated so this might be wrong)

Recharges during the daytime. Drains quickly and is less effective at night or indoors. Make it powerful during the day, something similar to Pew-Pew or even Alien Blaster. Critical hits lead to enemy disintegration.

I was kind of bummed out that there was only 1 full auto assault rifle (Assault Carbine) in the game that fires a weaker .5mm caliber instead of the usual 5.56 rounds and no unique variant to boot. So here's my unique weapon idea:

Gobi Campaign Assault Rifle
  • A unique assault rifle chambered to fire 5.56 rounds
  • Similar rate of fire and spread to the regular assault carbine but higher damage per shot due to the 5.56 ammo
  • Comes with an extended clip (30 rounds)
  • Has a maintenance kit (lower rate of damage per shot) and has camouflage fatigue paint similar to the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle

I was going to see about modding in a laser sniper. Uses twice the ammo of the regular laser rifle, but decreases DT. However, with the planned patch, the idea might be a bit redundant.

A crossbow. Great for hunting and soft targets, but obviously not to use against armor and thick skinned creatures.

A ak style weapon.

A large machine gun that you can also mount. Perfect for placing close to a camp and mowing enemies down.

I'd also love the ability to have areas shelled by ncr or boomers if you use flares or something.

Pre War Mortar
  • Uses Missiles/Mini Nukes (or new Mortar ammo specially)
  • Cannot be fired when moving, or without using the viewfinder.
  • Has a viewfinder that functions effectively as a sniper scope.
  • Fires in an arc, but has huuuuuge range, as long range as the viewfinder/scope allows.
  • Very High DAM
  • Super Slow Reload.
  • 1 Ammo a clip.
  • Benefits from explosives perks obviously.
  • Decreases speed when not "sheathed".
  • High Weight.

it automaticly Negate 10 pionts from enemy damage threshold.
