Unique weapon ideas

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 7:42 pm

In this game there weren't nearly as many Unique weapons as there were in fallout 3. so lets come up with our own.

LOUISVILLE SLUGGER
weapon type-Baseball bat
damage-24
strength requirement-5
required skill- Melee 25

GECKOS BANE
weapon type- hunting rifle
damage-38
strength required-4
required skill-guns 50
Notes- while it has a lower base damage then the standard rifle, it boasts increased rate of fire, less spread, less weight, slightly higher critical chance and 25% bonus damage against geckos.

have fun coming up with some

FISHY

Unique Assault Carbine
Located at the bottom of the Sea.

It appears to have an already built in silencer and extended clip modification.
It's base DMG is 8 higher than its original counterpart, and the weapon is blue... or something like that.

Found at the bottom of the lake near hoover dam.

Thats in the game already....
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/9mm_SMG_%28Fallout:_New_Vegas%29

The gauss pistol, tesla rifle, and pistol. Would be in too if they had weapons from Fallout 2 in the game.

The Spas-12 eh I'd much rather them bring back the City Killer combat shotgun.

Flashbang was in Tactics, So why not bring ti back for this one?

The cannons sound way too over powered.

I would really like to have all the weapons from the originals back.

PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) - Modeled after the FN P90 submachinegun

50, 5mm magazine (The real P90 fires 5.7mm rounds but for the sake of making it easy on the devs, just make it 5mm)
Reflex sight
Automatic
High DPS/Low DAM
Special: -3.00 target DT
Two Hand

What can I say, I like the idea behind the weapon. A small, light weapon that fires small armor-piercing submachinegun rounds.

Hand Cannon

1, .50 MG magazine
Iron Sights
Breech Loading
High DAM/Low DPS
One Hand

It's basically what it's name implies. It fires a huge round but needs to be reloaded after each shot.

Edit: Has a small chance of knocking the user down due to the recoil.

Bazooka

1, Missile magazine
Iron Sights
Breech Loading
High DAM/ Low DPS
Two Hand

Who doesn't want a throwback to the trusty bazooka?

Wasteland Wristbow

1, Pencil magazine
Iron Sights
'Breech' loading
Medium DAM/ Low DPS
Silent
One Hand

This one I'm particularly proud of. It fires pencils at a high velocity (not only the pen is mightier than the sword) causing moderate damage to it's target. It's also a one hand weapon so it benefits from the Gunslinger perk.

Tranq Gun

1, Med-X magazine/1, Poison Dart Magazine
2x scope
Bolt action
Very Low DAM/Very Low DPS
Silent
(Med-X) 90% Fatigue Damage, makes the target take 25% less damage.
(Poison Dart) Slows target by 50%.
One Hand

Another one that I'm proud of. This one however requires the user to use Med-X as the ammo. Instead of doing hp damage to the target, it functions like an injector that either knocks the target out for a moderate amount of time or slows the target down.

Poison darts can be made by combining Empty Syringes and Radscorpion Poison Glands at a campfire (Survival 50)

Battle Rifle - Modeled after the BAR

20, .308 magazine (I know the BAR didn't fire a .308 round... Another bone thrown to the devs so they don't need to make a new ammo type)
Iron Sights
Automatic
High DAM/ Moderate DPS
Two Hand

We really need a BAR... They're just cool.

Shelly the Revolver Shotgun

4, 20 gauge magazine
Iron Sights
Double action
Moderate DAM/ Low DPS
One Hand

It's basically a big revolver that's chambered to fire 20 gauge shotgun shells. Based on the Judge (.44 Magnum revolver that can fire .410 shotgun shells).

I may come up with more...

GAUSS CARBINE
similar weapons- shares appearance with fallout 1 and 2 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/M72_Gauss_rifle_(Fallout_2)
Damage-46
Strength requirement-8
Skill requirement-guns-100
Notes- shoots at same speed as service rifle, holds 8 bullets in a clip, automatically negates 10 points of enemy damage threshold

GAUSS PISTOL
Similar weapons- shares appearance with F1 and F2 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/PPK12_Gauss_pistol_(Fallout_2)
Damage-30
strength requirement-6
skill requirement-guns-75
Notes- holds 10 bullets per magazine, and automatically negate 10 points of enemy damage threshold.

Critical damage: 10
critical chance x4

Falcon I would have loved to see http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Rocket_Launcher_%28Fallout%29this rocket make a return instead of the FO3 version.

Also would love to see these return:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Power_Fist

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vindicator_Minigun

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/10mm_SMG_%28Fallout%29

Plus the Wattz weapons and the old style plasma pistol as well.

JACKHAMMER

Rapid Fire shotgun

DMG: 5x15 (per shot)

fires 6 shots per clip

(automatic)

its really hard to find :P

Like the Pancor Jackhammer auto shotgun in FO2? I approve!

That was kinda what I was going for. The rocket launcher from Fallout 1 and 2 seemed alot like a bazooka.

Yeah, exactly. I was skimming through the Fallout 1 and 2 weapons the other day and saw that. I like the design better too... The Missile Launcher in Fallout 3 and New Vegas just looks like a giant toy that you can kill people with.

3lb trigger though... That's kinda dangerous hehe.

Really? There seems to be a unique counterpart for almost every weapon in the game, if not more than one. I think too many unique weapons makes them less unique. HOWEVER...

A unique Fatman that did the damage of the FO3 Fatman (and its Unique Variant) would be cool, call it "Hero-Shima" :-)

They would've needed to make a whole new ammo type (.45 ACP) to include it without butchering the gun. I really don't know why they didn't though... I would've loved to have it. Not to mention that having the new ammo type would open the game up to add a UMP and Colt 1911.

Indeed, the Colt 1911 is just too American to not be in. :P I could however do without a UMP.

How about a laser rifle with continuous beam and gradually growing - up to a certain point - DPS (and DPS only) if you manage to keep the beam at aimed body part (once the target changes - E.G. from head to torso - the DPS counter resets)?

I could see like a "built in" concentrated fire mechanic built into the gun.

sounds cool but i think its kinda hard for you to hold that beam at the body part. Enemies tend to move around a lot.

My main bother with this game is that there weren't too many... I dunno, "tactical" weapons, I guess you could put it that way. There was the Marksman Carbine, the Service rifle, the pistols... and that's about it.

I'd put in a special 10mm submachine gun with silencer, tactical sight, elevated damage, 2.5x critical hit chance, and it fires in bursts. Put some armor piercing bullets in the son of a [censored] and you've got a low-caliber weapon that even Deathclaws would fear.

A bigger, meaner version of the 9mm would be nice, too.

A weapon that burst-fired weak Tesla beams would be similarly awesome.
