They should have given us that penalty at the end, but still, bad play from us.
The referee was just plain bad

Wow, I don't think many predicted that. Quite a poor game in terms of quality of football, very wasteful of the Dutch and they were made to pay. Can't see this ruining their chances to qualify, they just better hope Germany beat Portugal to put their minds at rest.

Looking forward to the next game, hopefully we'll see a few goals!

I had a dream (more of a nightmare) two days ago in which i saw Christiano Ronaldo lifting the cup, i never dream about stuff like that so i'm spookily intrigued :) Portugal to win then, but it's Spain all the way for me, i'm Spanish and would love nothing more than a third victory hehe.

You should put a bet on Portugal to win!

Pretty interesting game before, nice to see Denmark playing typical Chelsea football. ;)

That's actually a really good observation, almost an exact replica of the Chelsea vs Barcelona game with Denmark last-ditch defending and Holland wasting every oppurtunity they got.

I love Cristiano Ronaldo, so if England get knocked out, I'll be supporting Portugal to win it. Considering Holland's suprise loss to Denmark, a bet on Portugal to win isn't such a bad shout.

Yeah, reminded me so much of the Chelsea game. If England get put out, I will be supporting Spain, simply because I love their style of play.

Edit: I'm predicting a 2-1 Germany win.

Not shocked at all by the Germany vs Portugal result last night, shame Ronaldo didn't make much of an impact but the Portugese team appeared less than impressive, and extremely negative.

Spain are starting out against Italy without any strikers though I'm personally hoping that Balotelli flops, as he gets on my nerves. Predicting a 0-0 bore draw, although I really hope it's not.

Any reason?

I'm honestly not fussed, really bored of Spain being the 'best in the world' but Italy aren't that interesting either, Montolivo is one to watch, apparently a good little player. Just hoping that Spain aren't going to bore us to death by passing it around the midfield for 90 minutes.

Yeah I don't like Spains style of play either, passing it round a lot. It reminds me of liverpools style of play last season, launch it forward and hope Carroll heads it in. Only Liverpools is slightly more boring.

How exactly did they cheat?

Thought it was a good game, but not surprised by the outcome. 4-6-0 vs 5 Italian defenders was never going to be a high scoring game, surprised Spain managed to even get a goal. Dissapointed Iniesta couldn't score, he played well but I need the points for my fantasy team.

Always diving. Shocking ref. No penalty for Pique's foul on Balotelli. Balotelli yellowed for winning the ball. Busquets being his usual diving self.

Disappointed in Torres but not surprised to be honest, Del Bosque is a loyal man so he plays him anyway, but LLorente must be wondering when his turn will come, Torres might have a goal or two left in him for this tournament, i hope he can make them count if and when they do come.

I would have been able to enjoy the game more if i had not had my heart in my mouth :) Iniesta should have been booked for teleportation and levitation, both of which i'm sure are illegal, what a player he is.

I must admit I was surprised that Llorente didn't start given the fantastic season he's had. I had him down to be one of the leading performers/scorers of the tournament but hey-ho. Ineista never ceases to amaze me. Didn't think Spain were too bad in actual fact, not as bad as they usually are, didn't see any penalty shouts against Balotelli either, but I was glad to see him leave the pitch quite early, waste of time and space if you ask me. Busquets has quite a reputation, and I don't like the guy, but he wasn't as bad today as he normally is for Barcelona, so I'll give him some credit; he didn't do much to help Spain though.

Ireland vs Croatia was a great game. Jelavic scored again, showing that he can do on an international level what he's done since January at Everton and his strike partner wasn't half bad either. Modric looked great but I can't help but feel they should have done better to put more past what was an unorganised although spirited Ireland side.

I'm seriously deprived of soccer action. I don't have cable at this house, and my internet is too slow to stream it. :(

Anyway, cheers to Croatia, they were the better team.

Why is that bad? Poor Sivartus can't, so you should consider yourself lucky.

Yeah he was unlucky, especially for their second goal. Hilariously unfortunate timing as the commentator claimed that it was such a good header as the replay showed Given nodding it home. Never know though 6 points in the other two games will see you through nicely.

I have a feeling Ireland might not even get a single point in their group if they don't kick it up a notch.
