So guys, France vs England. How do you think this is going to go?

I'm thinking France is going to win this 2 or 3-1.

Eeyup, I don't have much faith in England in this game. xD

Yes 1-0 to England!

Oxlade-Chamberlain is good talent, I can see him being snapped up by a big club.

Indeed, altough I can't say I'm surprised by the result. They are pretty evenly matched, but I did however expect France to get away with the victory.

Good game nonetheless, at least from the neutral point of view.

The England France game ref was awful. Didn't realise France were allowed 12 men on the pitch. Onto England. They are completely unable to string two passes together. The defenders and midfielders seemed to stay in their own box the entire game. Abysmal.

Why forced?

2 -1 to Ukraine vs Sweden, i'm a little surprised even though both teams played lousy

- Dad gets Portugal in his.
- Competition arises.
- Dad is forced to support his sweep.

Little disapointed with England, not in the result, but in the referee and in the teams performance. We definitely show signs of strength defensively, our lines are great (usually, although not for Nasri's goal) and our pressing around the box is great. Hard to see many scoring past us. However it really doesn't make for good viewing. Our ability to keep the ball and our willingness to attack seem non existent. We seem to be closing them down, winning the ball and passing it around the back four before giving it straight back to them and letting them attack us all over again.

What England don't seem to have belief in, or the ability to do is push out and attack them with pace, no one touch passing going forward or any signs of darting runs. One made by Milner, who is such an awful winger, in the whole game was astonishingly chopped wide of the near post.

The Sweden vs Ukraine goal was much more exciting, but that was mainly down to how bad both teams were defensively. Ibrahimovic is such a strong forward, I can see him having a really good tournement and getting a lot of goals, but hopefully we can beat both Sweden and Ukraine in order to go through. A little worried now that Ukraine have that 2 point advantage.

Looking forward to todays games. I can see Greece beating the Czech Republic, although neither team has been that impressive in front of goal, or at all really. My eyes will be on Poland vs Russia and for the sake of my fantasy football team I hope Poland, through Lewandowski, manage to score a few, whether or not Russia, who have looked the best side so far, manage to beat them or not.

Danny Welbeck is a useless lump, I'd rather be playing Andy Carroll. Hopefully Roy doesn't keep playing Welbeck, I'd like to see Andy Carroll playing as he is getting quite good and would like him to get more confident.

Our defenders are good, but I wish Gerrard would have more faith in them to let them do what they do, and focus himself more on attacking than going back into our box to defend. That was our main problem - midfielders not attacking and going back to defend, not going to concede with that style of play but certainly not going to score and win. Milner should have scored as well.

If Andy Carroll starts over Welbeck I'll kill myself.

I was reasonably happy with the performance to say many thought we would get steamrolled. We actually pressed higher up the pitch than we ever have under Roy in the first 20 minutes or so, was glad to see Ox getting a start as well, offers as much as Downing going forward. We did start to look more porous when Parker went off for Henderson but we had some tired legs at that point too.

If we play similarly against Sweden and Ukraine, we should get through the group stages.

As for Milner, he obviously doesn't get picked for what he does going forward. He'll run and run all day and is a determined and disciplined defender who will always provide good cover for his fullback. Can you imagine Walcott lining up in front of Glen Johnson against Ribery and Evra?

When Rooney is back we should drop one of the wingers, push Ashley Young out wide and start Rooney behind Welbeck.

Carroll in his current form is better than Welbeck, especially Welbeck in that match.

Carroll alters how we play too much, whatever anybody says, it's too tempting to go route 1 with someone like Carroll up front. A good last couple of games for Liverpool doesn't really constitute 'form'. I like Welbeck for his pace and his running, helps to stretch defences. His enthusiasm and workrate too, he chased the French back line brilliantly.

Welbeck had next to no service yesterday, he spent most of his time chasing down defenders by himself, which is to be expected when you end up essentially playing a 4-5-1. Carroll wouldn't have done any better under the circumstances in my opinion, I can barely remember any decent crosses making it into the box. Glen Johnson kept chucking them into row Z.

Are you serious? Welbeck was one of our best performers in that last match and Andy Caroll hasn't been 'in form' since he moved to Liverpool.

I'm not opposed to him playing as he offers something different, but I don't think it would be fair to put him in at the expense of Welbeck who's played well.

And the defenders just brushed him aside. If we play again like we did that match we're gonna need a more physical striker, someone who can get through the defence.

I see Carroll as very much a 'plan B' substitute for this tournament. Welbeck is a better starting choice, at least until England have Rooney.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Carroll should definitely not be our first choice, he's only had 4 or 5 good games for Liverpool all season, if that and really doesn't suit our tactic. We need a better dictator of play in the midfield, something I'd normally say was Gerrards job, yet he seems to worried about protectecting the back four than he does attacking. Glen Johnson is rubbish, period.

Enjoyed todays games. Got a soft spot for Poland and hope that they can quallify for the next stages. I seem to be supporting teams simply for whoever is in my fantasy football team and I really like both Lewandowski and Polanski.

You take that back!

I agree with what you say about Gerrard though, he doesn't have faith in the back four and feels the need to be back there helping out, when he should be doing what he does best - attacking. As the team has said though, they should use this draw as a platform. I think if we are to get out of the group stages, we need to put more emphasis on attacking rather than having our midfield in the box. Playing it safe will not get us anywhere.

Unbelievable Jeff! Honestly he's my second least favourite right back in the world. Martin Kelly is first. :P

They do say, that the best form of defence is to attack. England just seem to scared to try, but I guess that's what you get with Roy Hodgson. Wish we could be more like Russia who just seem to bomb forward with such enthusiasm, something we seem to really lack.

Martin Kelly is boss!

I think we do need to play to our strengths, and our strength is defence. However, we can't just rely on it, and I think we need people like Glen Johnson in defence, someone who can defend but is also amazing at going forward and can get good counter-attacks going.
