Martin Kelly is boss!

I think we do need to play to our strengths, and our strength is defence. However, we can't just rely on it, and I think we need people like Glen Johnson in defence, someone who can defend but is also amazing at going forward and can get good counter-attacks going.
I'm glad someone has faith in those two, although I can't help but think it's misplaced. Glen Johnson is good at running on the ball, what he's not so good at is anything else. Including both defensive and attacking capabilities. I've not seen enough of Martin Kelly to properly judge him, but I fail to understand how he was a better choice than Micah Richards. I trust it's down to some sort of Liverpool goggles that allows you to appreciate Johnson, but I really dislike him, simply down to his lack of capability, especially to perform on an international level. Fair to say everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would like to sit with you and watch a game, purposely pointing out every mistake or poor contribution he makes, it's quite humorous. :P

Roy picked him for a weason, and I would gladly sit and watch with you to explain the magic of glorious glen :P . Well, he isn't magic but he is a decent player who can bring the ball forward.

England are useless. Hope we get knocked out in the groups. Maybe then we'll invest in some homegrown talent...

Nice to know we have such good supporters. I've noticed a few people in my school have started supporting other countries instead of England. No wonder some players don't play well at international level when their fellow countrymen aren't even supporting them and even going so far as to support other countries.

I support my local team. I go to loads of away games. Seriously who cares about some overpaid useless players?

Come on, it's your country, a chance for supporters of all teams to come together and support the national team! Not to mention great football can be played in international tournaments.

I don't care who wins so long as it's not Spain. I sort of want England to do well but after the last 90 minutes I felt like killing myself it was so dull. Supposedly worse teams play better football than us.

Yeah I suppose it was dull, but in the teams eyes I suppose it doesn't matter. We can hope that they will realise that style of play won't be winning any games, and put an emphasis on attacking, as attacking style of play is much more fun to watch and wins games.

I'm spending the summer in Freiburg, DE, so I'm sort of rooting for the German side. I went to a bar with a friend for Germany's opening game and had to sit on a curb to watch. (They still happily served us beer though). Otherwise I'm really rooting for the host nations, considering I have split (mostly) Polish and (the rest) Ukrainian heritage in my family. It's hard, I think, not to love the Spanish side (although I miss watching David Villa very much).

I'm going out again for Germany's match tonight, but hopefully I'll actually be able to get a real seat.

I'll be able to catch Portugal-Denmark before I head into work today. My work schedule has really interfered with watching matches. And getting on the forums. I wish I would've known this thread existed before today.

I'm excited to see if Denmark have what it takes to put up a good fight against Portugal. I didn't really expect them to do well in their group, but after the Netherlands game I'm starting to wonder.

That sounds a little extreme!

I'm not sure anymore. As great as they are at moving the ball around, without David Villa or a replacement end product, watching Spain usually results in seeing thousands of passes without them ever breaching the box.
