I can confirm "- Arrows don't work for menu/mapping/anything"

It worked before, both with the preferences bmouse accelerator ini flag on or off. Before it worked whether or not the in game options for controller were on or off.

Now, it does not work, both with the preferences bmouse accelerator ini flag on or off. Now, it still doesn't work whether or not the in game options for controller are on or off.

No mods at all. Mouse accelerator tweak is the only tweak I ever used (back n forth).

Game menus (selling misc items) is almost impossible now. It closes itself, like it did prior to 1.12 stealth patch. Stealth patch fixed it. Patch 1.2 re-broke it.

Extreme CTD problems. Game on machine during the 1.2 patch was thoroughly destroyed by 1.2 patch. CTDs over and over and over (it was reversing itself - crashing earlier and earlier).

64 bit Vista fully updated - 3 mg Ram (in betweener) - 6.2 Gig virtual memory - i7 920 - 8 proc 2.67GHz - ATI Radeon 4800 series 1Gig Vram

I haven't played Skyrim since the patch came out, so i'm still on 1.1. Kinda worried about starting it up again at the moment, due to all the bad things ive been reading! Is the patch still coming down through steam? If so, is there a way around it? Don't know much about steam, but can I just disconnect the ethernet and play offline?

I took a leap of faith and patched the game. Played for ~4 hours with no problems whatsoever.

Also I'm using the SKSE loader to launch the game wich fix the magical resistance bug.

Dragon problems.

Killed 2 since the patch that were fine other than them burning half a mining camps inhabitants.

But then found a third which did the flying backwards, can't come within 200 yards trick. This was accompanied by major, major FPS lag (I can generally run at 30fps solid but this dropped it to around 10).

I even tried taking it out long range but apparently it's an invincible dragon who can't die......

Same as Cpt_ Calavera over here, not seen a dragon yet since patch but everything else working fine.
Using same SKSE via 4Gb Launcher, although works fine if i start it normally anyway.

Did not use any ini mouse or control tweaks before patch so maybe thats the reason i have no control issues now.

My only issues since the patch (playing vanilla):

* Magical resistances are gone.
* Wait takes forever. i.e. - it takes anywhere from 10-20 seconds for the wait timer to count down each hour.

Love this game, got it pre-order, had no real issues with anything other than 3 Dragon Souls not being absorbed and an occasional CTD, neither problem bothered me or effected my playing of the game.
even the Red Eagle Sword reappearing and not going away until I put it back into the Slot to open the secret tunnel, did not bother me.
HOWEVER, now the STEAM client force updated me to 1.2 today and now My Character is spewing out Steam Plumes like a Dwarven Centurion on Steroids, and emitting red sparks from near her knees..
and I cannot see properly in 3rd person view, sword fights in 1st person are nothing like the good fun of 3rd person, in first person view though, I see the shift in light as though I have invisible Ice Shards sticking out of me, I have tried dumping all items and such and every other trick in the forums I have read, to no avail.
This issue of Steam force updating us is a problem for me, as this highlights when the game is working fine, and now it is not and I did not choose to update.
I am still a big fan, having played ALL of the Elder Scrolls Games from days of the 386 DOS PC to now, this double issue of Steam and Patch 1.2 is the only time in over 15 years I have felt the need to complain...
I will be looking at a Unofficial Rollback to 1.1, until this issue is fixed.. I dunno what the Patch did, but it was BAD...

Before patch everything ran fine except random crashing after loading screen sometimes. But that would be OK since it was caught by autosave each time.

After patch:

-Will not run over 40 FPS. Looks horrible now and hard to play.
-Crashes randomly while running around. No particular events or triggers similar to each crash. Occurs within 10 minutes of playing.
-Even after hotkey fixes, still displays to press [tab] to close my menus instead of my designated hotkey. (Left handed player, use arrow keys and other keys around them for playing)

Treasure maps are not spawning chests after the 1.2 update. This worked fine on version 1.1.21. I'm running no mods and my INIs were rebuilt by the new 1.2 executables, so there are no possible external causes. I've verified this on a character that was created on 1.1.21 as well as a new game created on 1.2. This issue hasn't been officially recognized or mentioned by Bethesda. Since it is a REGRESSION introduced in the 1.2 update, I felt it necessary to point it out, even if it has previously been mentioned in this or any of the previous threads on this patch. Because it is a regression (i.e. a bug introduced by an update rather than a previously existing bug) Bethesda should take notice and correct the issue in the next update. I'm aware that many, much more serious bugs exist in the game, but regressions have to be addressed first or the bug count will only rise. This is standard in software development.

After 1.2

- I'm experiencing random lags and stuttering that barely make the screen frozen for 1/2 seconds. I did not have any of that before. I'm running that on a I7 950 12GB ram, GTX580 on win 64 with 290.36 nvidia drivers.
- I'm using the french version and the "é" type is gone from the menu replaced by a square like a " char return"

Hoping from Bethesda that the next patch don't break other things and really takes care of making the game works properly as a customer should expect when he's paying for.

Hi.

I've had the game for about a week and haven't had too many problems, playing daily.

Using PC. Steam did the update to 2.1 patch automatically. It worked fine last night.

My problems started TODAY - Friday Dec 2nd.

I remember reading a bunch of books in the Winterfell library last night before I went to bed. No problems at all.

Now, today, when I read a book, there is no option listed at the bottom of the screen for "TAB to Exit". My only option is to take the book.

I also have major problems at the enchanter table. The option listed at the bottom says "R to Craft". When I first installed the game, one of the first things I did was switch the R and C keys in the game controls. So I was used to hitting C to craft instead of R. Now, neither one works. I can CLICK the word Craft at the bottom, but then I get the pop-up asking if I want to create the item (Yes/No). When i Highlight then click on Yes, nothing happens. When i highlight then click on No, nothing happens. TAB does not back me out of the pop-up. ESC brings up the system menu, as expected. So i'm stuck there. I have to bring up the task manager and kill the game at that point.

The game is broken for me. I have downloaded NO MODS. All i did was logon to steam which had automatically updated with the patch. Naturally, auto-update is now disabled.

Looking forward to being able to play again.

Hi,

after 1.2 (vanilla, no mods):
- I comfirm the resistance issue: and it's really easy to test it. On Morvunskar (near windhelm), there is a trap which trigger a fire stream. Under the fire, my life go down EXACTLY at the same rate with 80% fire resistance (boots+amulet) or with 0%.
- I have some crash every 30mn, more often if I enter/exit on dongeon frequently.
- I'm using the french version and I have now some typo issue ("é", ...)
- Sometimes, lags occured (10s without being able to do something)

It working fine with 1.1 (just some texture issues)

Game was fine yesterday, running it vanilla and come to play today and now my arrow keys dont work to navigate menu's and the game keeps freezing. Now the mouse sensitivity has gone through the roof almost uncontrollable and noamount of adjustment in the settings makes any difference.

Water textures get badly messed up under the bridge in Whiterun, just as you enter the town, in front of the blacksmith. Standing in the spillway will show you what the water should look like, but if you're standing up near the forge, pan your view around and you'll see the water shift direction and speed up dramatically with very low detail. This is the way water looks when it's in the far off distance and in this instance creates a very jarring effect. This is not new with 1.2; it is also verified to be present in 1.1.21 and is very easy to reproduce.

I'm having alot of issues.

No fast travel. No arrow buttons. Can't craft anything at all, leather, smelting, etc without getting out of the game which sets me back.
Can't pick up anything from a dungeon that's on a table, potions, purses, etc.
Dungeons you walk through a door and it is all black and white. Have to wait a few minutes for it to catch up.
Attack "R" is slow takes a few seconds for it to kick in and then maybe it won't.

Just a few I've encountered.

Farkas, the guy who gives you the very first companions quests, now will not stop drawing his weapon and initiating conversations with me. I'm supposed to have him following me around for the second quest but he just won't shut up. I can't even take two steps with out him starting a conversation like I had pressed the E button. I'm not talking to him at all and he started doing that the moment I entered the companions building in Whiterun.


Please sticky this thread so all the bugs are contained in one location

Since Patch 1.2

Bad News:

- The ability to recharge enchanted weapons has completely gone, the "T" Button no longer does anything! (Needs sorting quickly)
- Whilst the Mouse Y Axis sensitivity has been improved it almost feels like it is more sensitive than the X axis now, almost reversing the entire problem.
- Favoriting items still doesn't work, you cannot press "F" key to favorite an item even though it's the default key binding. Favorites worked for about a day after first install of Skyrim and then stopped for some unknown reason.

Good News:

- Good thing is if you've rebound your "Use" key you can now actually "Take" books after reading them. Before 1.2 you couldn't pick up books unless you left "Use" as the default "E" Key

I can confirm the non functional treasure maps. They no longer spawn the indicated chests. I also posted this in the separate topic created for this issue but I figured I may as well post it here just in case.

i have yet to download any of the 360 patches, mainly because i don't have my system online, and bringing to work or a neighbor is kind of a pain.
i guess my overall question is - should i hold off downloading a current patch until there is a patch that is stable and fixes most of the bugs?

I am playing the game straight out of the box, no mods, no changes to default keys. Before 1.2 I could not drop anything and I tried all sorts of online hints none worked. Now I can drop things often without trying to, i open my inventory an things fall out. Still can pick them up and move on. However, I can no longer use chests to store things, I open the chest and then open the inventory and the chest closes immediately. that could be a game breaker on some quests. Character creation is now almost impossible. I keep being asked if I have finished before I have chosen a six, scars, warpaint etc. Every time I try to chose a feature I get asked if I have finished. The R key no longer works properly.

Overall the patch has made things worse except I can drop things.

Steam applied the patch automatically and now arrows don't work in menus, and all I was carrying in "MISC" is gone. I had 99+ lock-picks now I have none. I wander if I lost anything else because I usually carry around 300 and now I'm at 100 ! Looks like I just lost 200 of goods.

Does anyone knows how to enable the arrows again ? Because I hate using the mouse in those huge lists, especially the favorite menu. :sad-face:

I also lost ALL MY KEYS except 2 : "Interrogation Chamber Key" (I have 3 of those) and "Trap Door Key" (I have 2 of those). These keys are related to the last quest I did : Invade the embassy.

My game is completly unplayable after patch 1.2. Memory leaks occur that makes the game lag like hell. It's scandalous of Bethesda to make a game that I paid for unavaliable like this. I've half a mind to sue them (they should be used to loose in court by now).

Bugs i have encountered since Patch 1.2

- Tresure Maps does not work, i got tresure map IV, but there is not treasure to be found, why is these chests not there even without the treasure map though. Do they really spawn when you get the map, now that is a stupid idea, and very unrealistic, you should be able to sumble over the treasures even without the map.
- Bookshelves are completly bugged, as i can place books in the shelf, but if i do it bugs out and i can never use the shelf again.
- When i became than of Whiterun, i got the axe of whiterun, which was a Orcish battleaxe. The bug with it is that i can't seem to put it on any weapons stands, it bugs out. Might just be a bug with that weapon though as other weapons works fine.

I have yet to encounter a backwards dragon, and i am using an unoficial fix for the resistance bug.
