Vampire features "nose line"

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:01 pm

Does anyone else loathe that red line that runs from your nose to your chin when youre a vampire lord? I have a nord with light skin tones and blonde hair and that line just makes her look hideous. Im overly-picky on how my characters look and I spend a lot of time making them look just right. I really wanted to be a vampire lord but I wont do it if the butt-ugly line is there. I figured it might have been some sort of graphical thing so I went to the face-changer to see if I could move some things around and make it less noticable or somehow remove it.... and of COURSE you cant use her skills if youre a vampire... some bull-[censored] about taking a "different path" or whatever.

Like I stated I know i'm overly-picky on this but.... damn I hate that stupid line, looks like my character has a nose-bleed.

If by some astronomical chance a bathesda employee sees this: Please for the love of Talos, give us a way to get rid of the line!!! It haunts my dreams.

Thank you.

Your not the only one. I hate the nosebleed line. I would've preferred the bat nose.

Hate to break it to ya but, undead aren't supposed to look pretty. Especially the Volikhar(vampire lord) vampire clan. Unlike their cousins in cyrodill they are easily distinguished; They cannot hide their vampirism through feeding. Thus, they have permanent "ugliness" to them. Hence, the red slit.

The other features of the vampires certainly arent pretty but I can deal with those. The red line just looks *silly*. Ugly is one thing but I feel like I need to put a damn tissue up to her nose lol.

I would've just preferred the glowy eyes. Or at least give vampires a vampire face-changer. But hey at least they stuck to the Volkihar lore in that sense.

See here is the thing I adore the bat faces I think they look awesome yes they look ugly heck I wish my character could look like that but the red line looks stupid. It just seems that the line was slapped on at the last second. Heck I would not even be complaining if all vampires have it *looks at serana, fura and harkon*.

Obviously they wanted still wanted the some vampires to remain 'sixy' -looks at serana- I mean would people be this crazy about serana if she looked the thrallmaster? I just want the bat nose.

Yeah, it's probably a poor texturing job. Somebody at Bethesda rushed the UV and paint job without thinking about it. :nono:

Considering NONE of the vampires in Castle Volkihar have them, its obviously something that bethesda did wrong....

That's how you fix that nose line, I can attest to how well it works since I don't have a nose line any longer.

My character was artfully scarred on a suntanned face...

As a VL, all his scars are now much more prominent, and rather than having the 'dueling scar from heidelberg' look, he's now got the 'face slashed by grizzly bear' look...and that nose line and the hint of blood on his lips makes it seem as though he's also been hit in the face with an axe.

On top of all that, he had one blue and one brown eye...now he's got one bright orange eye, and one super bright yellow eye...very unimpressive look. Every time someone says, "I don't like the look of your eyes" I think, "well, you ain't the only one sweetheart, now step out of the way, there's a boat that needs guiding into the harbour".

I wish they would have kept the red eyes, but just made the glow like the new ones.

Not a fan of it either, but they had to make Vampires look unique in some way.

I agree it is a bit.... weird. I don't particularly like it, but it is a vast improvement over what the vampires looked like in Oblivion; spent an ungodly amount of time in the character creation only to have my characters face completely rearranged after becoming a vampire.....
A texture at least, is easier to fix, if nothing else. My biggest problem with it, is it makes my characters face look.... messy... or blurry. It's distracting. Thanks to BabelFish for that link though, I will deffinately use that. :D

Maybe it's cause you're not actually a pure blood?

Even the vampires that are not pure blood, the wood elf for example, do not have that nose / lip line.

By lore, Cyrodiilic vampires are suppose to look sixy, Not Twilight sixy, but Dracula sixy/dangerous sixy/stalkerish.

I am sort of glad the Volkihar doesn't look pretty. It fits lore.
