I dont know why but this interests me. I may give them some money, despite never playing wasteland... And never getting past the first town in fallout 2.

I watched a review of the first Wasteland on YouTube last night. Brought back memories from my childhood playing the game on our Commodore 64. It'd be cool if the original game could be bundled with the new game.

It might actually get the cash, if this gets made I get new concept art so you guys give them more money.

And I called it, no way this was gonna be a console game.

I don't think the system requirements will be as high as whats coming out these days, so you may not need to spend as much.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2?ref=live

Almost 21,000 already done (at 3.40pm, the amount raises all the time), 100 of which are from me.

Notifiable is that the goal was lowered to 900,000 while the real goal is 1 million, but Fargo puts the last 100,000 from his own pocket if need be. He also takes no salary from doing this, so all the money will go to the project.

(also, noticed Jason Bergman in the backers list)

Whose Jason Bergman?

This thread, in comparison with the WL2 threads at NMA and RPG Codex, is hilariously woeful.

The project is already 2/3 funded, and there is still thirty-three days to go. Really not worried about them hitting their goal and then some.

Haven't played much of the original game, but I would like to see the series revived. They have been trying to get this sequel made for a long time.

Was just going to say that the attention this is getting here is "tremendous" in comparison to Codex and NMA before I saw your post.
But I guess it (the lack of attention) is not something unexpected.

Anyways, like SlappyHappy above said, 600k raised already. To goal isn't far anymore, and I personally look in the horizon for the 1,25-1,5 million marks already. Yeah, I can be optimistic too. :P

I dont always like the Codex (Like praising a dev, then insulting them seconds later).

But I think this is pretty neat, especially them all pitching in to try an get a codex statue in the game.

Its just a pretty great thing. This kickstarter stuff has allowed devs to go back to making older games, sites like RPG codex and NMA have clung to those for a long time. It would be nice and fitting if they had their site immortalised in a new game, showing the genre isnt dead.

I wonder what the graphics will be like. Im guessing fallout 2 at best... Cant really see what you can do with an isometric game.
Allthough that would make making the game pretty cheap, devs waste too much money on graphics, not enough on gameplay.

There are some suggestions on their forums someone suggested AoD engine and I'd like to see that happen. I'm goimg to join their forums and throw my hat in the ring for the AoD engine.

No, not really. When I first watched the video on the Kickstarter page I had to lmao at the "There was a Fallout 1 and 2?!" line thinking to myself, "Fargo must be reading the Bethesda forums!"

Seeing the list of stuff you get for doing it from decaf I would if I had that money solely for the stuff you get.

I can't wait.

Neither can I. Normally I do my best not to get hyped up for something, especially something that is so early on like this, but I can't help it this time.

Fargo tweeted a while ago that they are going to start working on another video. First one was quite hilarious.

It's hard not to get excited for something when you have a personal stake in it. I only put up $100 and to some that may not be a big deal bit it's a lot of money for me. I want this to happen so if it doesn't I'll be very disappointed.

So, if they hit their $900k mark do they start work on the game or do they ride it out until the Kickstart is over? I'm assuming it'll keep going intil the 33 days are up.

I would imagine so (which I'm sure they already have, at least to some degree). But yeah it'll keep going until the 33 days are up.

Oh man, this ia gonna be huge then. If it nails $900k by tomorrow evening then it stands to reason that it could go to $1.5m+ easy by the time the Kickstart is over. This game is going to be epic.
