Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #4

You have an auto 5? I'm officially jealous. That's a fine gun, and I'm not just saying that because of Red Dead Redemption, heh.
Been thinking of buying one myself, but the economy and all...

But how would the fission battery recharge?
Maybe there's a photovoltaic cell you can get from the Helios plant. I know the helios plant isn't a photovoltaic plant but maybe there was a little lab that was working on them within the plant. That could recharge your gun, solar scorcher style.

I have the Auto-5. Serial #24XX Browning can't authenticate whether it's first batch or not becuase most of the older records gots destroyed (Damn WWII), but it's gotta be either 1903 or 1904. It's definately one the 20,000 that Browning got in that first order from FN.

How do we recharge batteries now? Plug it in at night. Zaapppp! Zaappppp! Die, svcker! Zaaaaaaaa............Crap! damn batteries!

Excuse me, I must go change into a new pair of pantaloons.
My current pair has been rendered unusable for the time being.

She's not a real beauty anymore, most of the bluing on the reciever is gone. I shoot her once a year with very light loads, but last year, her stock finally gave out. No biggie, it was the only not original part on her, so I'ma looking for an orignal english style Browning stock to make her whole again. (and I'm also repairing the old stock for practice, I love to tinker)

I am waiting for the video to show a Chicago Type-writer already. Other than that my squealing like a little girl will still be kept inside.

Fission batteries are nuke batteries we have them right now.. they run basicaly for 500 years or so slowly reducing in power as they age. They run off the decay of fissle material. Beliove it or not but some old pacemakers used them....

That new revolver takes .45-70 rounds. I read that the Tommy Gun takes that kind. I wish that this gun will be semi-confirmed to be included in-game. Even a simple "maybe" will do. At least that sounds hopeful.

I'm just loving that grease gun, m3s look so gnarly, just look at the thing, its like someone tinkered with it in their little shack and finally got it working.

Recharger Rifle and the plasma pistol(not sure what its called) look like squirt guns in that vid. then again most squirt guns try to look futuristic so it fits that whole 1950s theme well :)

The Thompson uses a pistol round, .45 ACP, and the .45-70 gov't is a long rifle round. A big difference.

Did you notice if the shotgun has a stock, I could not tell because he was shooting from the hip. I ask this because the riot shotgun and this gun may be different weopons( the riot has a pistol grip), one in 12 gauge and the other in 20 maybe.

my guess is that the pump action start with a pistol grip and then you can upgrade it with a full on stock to give you more accuracy.

but that′s my guess.

most likely you wont, if Enduring Protectron theory is correct that the Tommy gun is the Lincoln's repeater of F:NV

To bring about my point again:
Irresponsible [censored]s are responsible for the gun related deaths in the US. Most of us out here who respect firearms and use them for hunting, recreational shooting and things of that sort don't appreciate being pooled in with thugs and delinquents who want to be "gangsters" and get into the "thug life" so to speak. Those people don't go by the law in the slightest they get guns through drug trades and black market deals, just because a few people in a large nation do messed up things with firearms doesn't mean we should all be punished for what they did. (A lot of people have been stabbed to death by knives, should we ban knives as well? Maybe tighten laws on the use of knives?) :tops:

I am not saying that everyone in america is irresponsible with guns, but becuase guns are so accesible compared to other countries, like engalnd and australia, a lot more deaths occur. I was just asking why so many people enjoy guns so much. its just weird to me that nearly anyone can legaly own a gun, not saying that their going to go on a killing spree.
My principal used to live in america, and an 8 year old kid shot a classmate becuase he didn't like him. I know that this is an extreme case, but it only happened becuase acess to guns is easy.
BTW i am not stereotyping that all americans just love guns, but every forum I go on, when people talk about guns who own them they are american.... :whistling:

still I think we all appreciate, gun enthusiasts or not, if we keep the whole gun debate out of this and just focus on talking about F:NV

Any way back more on topic, anyone heard if there gonna be any good, low caliber revolver? As a revolver enthusiasts I was a bit sadden the only really good and useful revolver was the big beefy .44 magnum that was hard to keep a good amount of ammo for.

Its because we have our 2nd Amendment the Right To Bear Arms, I'm glad we're not as regulated I don't want to end up like the UK and have the government babysit its people by holding on to all the "dangerous" guns because we all know people can't be trusted to hold onto their firearms safely. People need to realize the government needs less power over your everyday life, we give them all the power and now its time for us to stand up and make sure they don't take anymore. :tops:

EDIT: I don't even know if its passed or not but I read on the Firearm blog that the UK has been looking into that sort of gun control, its truly a scary thing when your government wants to cease any means by which you could protect yourself.

I do understand where you coming from, but i would definatley rather live in the uk compared to the us in terms of laws of guns. i am not trying to a a**hole here, but your right to bear guns is what causes so many needless deaths.

I thinkt this is of topic so we should stop talking about it.

I wouldn't mind having a bayonet type rifle where you would have the option in vats to perform a melee attack if your right next to the target.

would seam a bit useless to make a new rifle just so you can it′s main trait a bayonet when using VATS.

not that I would have any bayonets at all, just not as something for one rifle with a function only used by those that prefer VATS.

I saw in a recent screenshot that the character was wielding a spear.
I wager that you can tip the spear with poison ,kind of similar to the system in oblivion.
This would go hand in hand with all these crafting/survival type skills in the game.

well since we already know

A: throwing spears will fall under the melee skill

B: the survival skill can be used to make poisons you can coat melee weapons with

and thus your observation is most likely correct.

or even coat the spear with some kind of sleep inducing knock out /paralysis type of poison.
ideal for those fans who dont want to kill anyone.

eh the problem with that is your delivering the poison threw something made to kill people.

I don′t think that would work ;p
