I work on various thing such as the NPC animations system, some AI and some gameplay mechanics.
The upcoming "meet the dev" thread will be a great place to discuss this kind of things
Good luck with your project, practicing and experimenting stuff on your own is a good way to become a good programmer .

Just some advice for Arkane studios- Keep the original desighn. Because this is what we are interested in so just stay with it and the gmae should fly off of shelves and get gresat reviews.

A flash game im guessing? Dude enough with the 6 bit games look at Slayer 3 or even BLOONS!

Nope. Completely made in C++ from scratch (with help of SDL api). Psiweapon does all the pixel art, although there is some my stuff, but I svck at it.
The game is pretty much standard roguelike (randomized dungeons, monsters, items, permadeath) but obviously there is tile based graphics unlike ASCII. There is also some new stuff, boss fights and a story with multiple endings but without obvious choices.
Edit: Oh I forgot, another friend is also recording sounds and composing a music. It's a bit high tech for a roguelike but that's how I wanted it to be.

P.S. This is my first project like that.

I've also done a few personal games (started programming when I was in second grade--made Frogger in basic). Since then I've made a simple racing game, a short point and click adventure, and a top-down shooter.

Haven't done anything in a long time though.

As much as I love making games, it doesn't pay the bills.

This is my first post and I just want to say Hi to everyone and the Dev team !! !

Hello to Sarakyel, magic vlad, dan todd, the rest of the dev team and especially Ralph Colantonio - don't know if you remember me from waaayy back during development of ARX fatalis where on your site you were asking for opinions and ideas to add to the game, and I flooded your inbox with mine breaking the record.. ( yep I'm back!!) ... and you did such a great job with it that it demanded next gen comp system, and i couldnt played it till years later .

This game will be one of the best immersive if not complex game out there on the market and will set the bar on RPG games. I know the guys at Arkane have always had a vision of a game like this even way back then, only that time they were limited by technology, time, money and publishers . Arkane has always had a philosophy of really deep immersive games which gives player freedom of choice. I believe now they're seeing this fully comming to fruition.

Things are moving now, with more advanced technologies now available and ambitions can be achieved much faster. I'm certain everyone at Arkane have put their hearts and soul into this product as they always had with their games.

I wish you guys all the best and know that everyone here are at the forefront of something great!
