So what is everyone doing to prepare for dragonborn?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:06 pm

I see that some people are leveling their characters, some people are sitting in their player homes until it comes etc.

So what are you doing with your character(s) in preparation for dragonborn?

I am thinking of which armours and weapons to wear on my arrival to solstheim. What weapons to take and what clothes and armour to take. I am also leveling my archery and sneak.

Getting my Nord to badass-level warrior. Pretty much there, just moved into Hjerim and I plan to really hit the shout locations hard then finish the MQ.

Starting a new character meant for Dragonborn. Starting as a Nord Warrior, with a basic 1H-Shield combo. Gonna go with Heavy Armor all the way, and gonna try to hit up everything that I can while leveling.

I am gathering dragon souls and the remaining shouts I need to learn, while trying to get my conjuration the last few points to 100 so I can have thralls. And trying to get enchanting up so I can enchant the dwarven armor I made to match khonarhik. Ill be taking my dual dragonbone swords, spellbreaker, and either an enhanced dwarven crossbow with a stockpile of bolts or auriels bow and dragonbone arrows. And to help pass the time I'm finishing construction on my lakeview house and then might build the house in the Pale. Oh and I still need to do the companions quests... should really work on that.

Collecting shouts, getting around to defeating alduin, getting all the dragon priest masks, and whatever else Bodolf feels like doing. Basically, I'm doing all these things, but only in a way that makes sense to him, instead of with the mindset of, "gotta finish this stuff before the dlc's release."

I already have l 100 in all magic with all the perks I want. I am currently hunting down masks and shouts as well as getting all the Voikahar artifacts and finishing off my third mansion. A tranquil place by the sea where I can do my research from a colossal library.

Sythia, the only character to start and finnish the MQ has just come out of retirement (well kinda). I finnished main quest and havn't touched her since, but when I saw the trailer I figured its about time to revisit my first character.

At the moment I'm living out the quiet life in Heljarchen Hall. Building my compound and staying out of the public eye. Once the proper facilities are built she'll be honing her trade skills.

I'm sure she will get the bug for adventure again and set out to become a Thu'um Master and hunter of Masks. I figure by then Dragonborn will be released and she'll have to kick some serious ass again

I'll be getting my character geared up for the up-coming DLC. I will also be re-acquiring all of the dragon priest masks.

Clear out the cluttered quest log, finish companions guild quest, kill some vampires in dawngaurd, and look for more words of power. Need to get ready! So weak right now...

Just some jewellery. I think they are found in the radiant quests that Vingalmo gives. If not then it's the guy with the really squashed face and the short black hair.

Started a Nord warrior, who'll do the basic quests and the Civil War Quest line for the Legion and complete the MQ up until Blade in the Dark.

Basically I would do what I wanted to do with my first character but didn't because Dawnguard didn't appeal to me with the price tag it had. Anyways what I or my character Magnus would do is get a Daedric Armor set, and defeat Alduin. Once I defeat Alduin I put the armor set on a manakin and the dual wield swords I had in a display case and I would never use them again until another threat to Skyrim arose. What I would then do is buy a regular armor set like steel armor and just wander around Skyrim doing side quests and caring for my family, just waiting for a threat to arise. So once word comes of this other dragonborn I will dust off the daedric armor and head to Solstheim.

I have 100 in conjuration and all the perks have been ticked. The dead thrall is good, so their is no ash around and i can use the body again. I usually just conjure mist men or storm atronachs. I will probably be using conjuration, destruction, restoration, one handed and archery the most on Solstheim.

I still have my vampire royal armour that I use the most on a stant. And my dragonbone sword is on the racks in lakeview manor.

Nothing.
I have 4 base character 'types' , but I remake them for each new dlc.

Some may see this as work. but I just don't sense work when relaxing with a video game. It's a game, nothing more. And some of the small things are nice additives when remaking characters. Some examples include my female Breton alchemist finding a child's doll in a cupboard when escaping Helgen. Another would be when my male Nord tracker renounced his wolf blood to join the Volkihar.

And when it comes to the Dragonborn dlc, I think it will be nice when my newly remade Nord tracker escapes Helgen and finds or crafts his first spear at lvl1.
I doubt I'd much enjoy discovering or crafting the new content at lvl54.
Just a thought.

I decided to delete ALL my Skyrim stuff since I got bored of it because it took up a lot of HD space. The announcement ofDragonborn caused me to make a new game and I created a high Elf Mage and I'm going to do all the faction quests,Daedric quests, become Thane of all the cities,do the MQ,do Dawnguard as VL,and make a house that best fits my character.
