What exactly DID the beta fix?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:57 pm

Everywhere online that I lurk, I see people complaining about this DLC, myself included.

A majority of these bugs I hear were around in the beta forum long before Dawnguard was sent out as a retail DLC. So, what if anything actually was fixed, or are they still planning one larger update to wipe them all out at once? Or can they, some folks are saying that it's "impossible to patch a DLC" and that we're totally out of luck.

If the beta did in fact clean up bugs, I shudder to imagine the train wreck that the beta was for those poor souls that got in.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER:
This isn't a thread for talking trash about beta testers, I'm genuinely wondering what if anything was fixed from the beta to the retail release.

I suppose that could work, the Xbox might just have to redownload the updated DLC when the PS3 and PC get it.

I'm not familiar with that bug, one of my major gripes is how horrible it is that Khajiit don't get the epic orange eyes as a vampire lord.

The beta testers all were little kids who either svcked at skyrim or boosted so they had the most variety and Bethesda chose them. Then they dont go and report the bugs.

As a player who uses exclusively Khajiit characters, yes I mad.

The Vingalmo one is bad, and they should have fixed it if they knew about it.

a major bug is the totems of hircine quest being unavailable if you marry Aela this bug has been here in the beginning in the game and it is not fixed. I did not mind before but now i cant use some of the werewolf perks and that is robbing me from full gameplay i really need them to fix this glitch. I also tried the witch head solution didn't work my skjor is alive when hes supposed to be dead.

I tried fixing the vingalmo glitch and i only made it worse. Vingalmo's dialogue option of him giving quests doesn't even appear anymore i cant get anymore vampire side quests its ridiculous these concerns should of been met in the beta.

That's extremely harsh.

I wouldn't put it past Bethesda to get bug reports and do nothing about them.

I'm left wondering about this too. Someone asked for notes about this from Gstaff but was told Bethesda had no intention of releasing that information.

I play primarily on the Xbox and use my roommate's laptop on occasion to play with mods if I get the opportunity.

Woah I wouldn't go there friend. The beta testers reported numerous bugs. Bugs that weren't fixed. They even reported things they thought were bugs but turned out to be poor design choices. I give credit where it's due. They did their job. Bethesda didn't

That's odd, every other patch/update has had a comprehensive list detailing all of the alterations.

Maybe they refused because they knew it'd be a short read and upset some people...

Good luck getting a successful career with that stereotypical perspective. We've reported more bugs than you could possibly imagine. Glitches you have yet to find.

Thank you for saying that. You beta testers did a fantastic job, and most of us here appreciate and envy you. This is the devs fault, not yours.

I absolutely saw this coming given Bethesda's track record with bugs, and find it incredibly irresponsible. I have participated in betas for many games, and I have seen this sort of thing happen all too often even in betas for multiplayer online content. Players scour the game for bugs, and diligently report them, sometimes repeatedly, sometimes even going so far as to directly pm devs, even weeks in advance, only for nothing to ever be done about them until after release.

I've been playing for the past couple of days. Trust me when I say they're there.
If the beta testers had a hard time finding them, color me surprised.
Either they weren't trying or they didn't care.
