What games would you like Bethesda to make?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:58 am

I mentioned this in another post but for fear of going off topic I thought I'd start something new.

I'd love Bethesda to make a Discworld RPG.

What are your thoughts?

Discworld, one of the best realised and brilliantly funny fantasy universes ever conceived. Google it. the author of these 20+ books is Terry Pratchet.

There were a few point n click games made years ago but something on the scale of Skyrim would be awesome. I'd sell my dear old Granny and the dog for such a game!

I could see them doing Pong *The Pong 1.9 patch will be available to all users sometime this year, we'll keep you posted* LOL!

Honestly Discworld would be great. I still own Discworld Noir... but likely won't play on Windows 7.

Planescape, Beth needs to buy the rights to that setting. However leave Torment as is, if they can't improve on it don't try.

Ravenloft setting.

Darksun setting.

However I'd love to see a Warhammer game of some sort.
Bar that three settings.

Necromunda, a hive setting, vast industrial gang land sci fi turf war.
Fps rpg possible, lots of factions, create a character develop a gang. Go to war using tech, tactics and character specialization.

Mordhiem: Same as Necromunda but with a dark horror fantasy setting in a city destroyed by a foul magical meteorite.
One that has tinted the place, warping, mutating and perverting everything.
The meteorite is worth more than anything, even a single small chunk.. but a dark master lies at the center in a pit waiting.

Gorka Morka.. Orcs with guns, gizmos and vehicles. Mad Max meets Psycho axe armed brute.

I had an idea this might have had a mention somewhere, but I'm new so sorry if it's bothering anyone.
Although Madoc, Torment would be pretty cool in a non-isometric format. Loved that game! Morte really made me laugh out loud with some of the things he says.

Heyo! Somebody call the fire department because that burns.

I'd love a more up to date release of Pirates. Their first one was great.

Morrowind + Skyrim's Gameplay and Graphics

Or, since that's never going to happen, maybe an RPG set in the Firefly universe. Nothing would be awesomer, if they did it right.

A game that's better than Skyrim.

Not that Skyrim was terrible, just a little too over the top for me.

I don't. A game like that would need to be heavy on the combat, and it should be flashier than Bethesda's stuff. Closer to Kingdoms of Amalur.

Me personally, I just want them to work on the next Fallout. Then the next Elder Scrolls. Repeat forever. Any other big games added to their list is just going to slow production on those down.

I really would not want Bethesda to make a Discworld RPG, that world is so amazingly written and all of the characters are some of the most original I have ever seen. Bethesda would not be good at translating this into a game.

As for what I would want Bethesda to make, I'd like themto make more Elder Scrolls games. In fact I'd like them to concentrate more on TES, they could give Fallout to Obsidian so they could focus even more fully on TES.

Zing!

I'd like to see them do their open world thing with more character, story, and setting depth. I like their game worlds, but they always feel a bit cold and two-dimensional to me. It'd probably be too expensive to make, though.

An MMORPG. That would really lampshade just how bad they are at game balance and rulesets, and hopefully make them take some actual measures to improve on that point.

Honestly, I'd like to see an open world experience akin to Fallout or TES set in a world with a Zombie (Or zombieesque) breakout. Not only would you have to risk zombies, but bandits and raiders as well. maybe there'd be a mixture of big cities like New York City where some of it was sectioned off and a semblance of Pre-Apocalypse law and safety is held, but then other parts of the city are untamed, with looted buildings, corpses in the streets sometimes, zombies, bandit ambushes, et cetera. Ultimately, I wouldn't want a story about some magical cure, but rather a story focusing on the coping, surviving, and reviving of a safe humanity.
