I find this thread becoming rather...disturbing!

You know, I want to think my character is an atheist but it just doesn't work when I'm constantly praying in the name of the Divines and murdering in the name of Sithis and doing the will of the Daedra. All at the same time. It's all very confusing.

"I don't know. I don't think about it."

It is difficult to say, "i am an Atheist" while a deadric lord tries to conquer your world. Not to mention one faction has three living gods ruling over them. Lets not forget anything to do with Magick, which of itself may lead to unfathomable delights or dangers normal men ( not so much Mer) may ever know. The Dwemer were not atheists, they simply thought "lets be gods too!!" and well... it ended badly for them.

The Aldmer Ancestors Auri-El, Trinimac, Syrabane and Phynaster. I will also hold Mara and Magnus in high regard. My character will be a liberal Altmer (strange, I know!) and he will respect all religious beliefs but opposes evil Daedric Lords like Molag Bal and Mehrunes Dagon.

You mean the Eight?

My main will not be an active worshiper of gods. She will see the Aedra as too weak, the Deadra as too evil, and the act of worship as a waste of time.

...Which is not much at all like my IRL self.

I think you mean the--shoot. NixMaster beat me to it. (Talos hasn't happened yet, so there's only Eight Divines.)

I'm leaning towards Hermaeus Mora, but maybe my character will fall into the "doesn't think about it" camp.

Incidental point. There are going to be a lot of kids accidentally worshiping the Bal. "I am gonna [censored] you kid!! Hurr hurr derp derp!!!" We will see lots of that I am sure.

Yup lol since you are an Albino Dunmer does that make you a white elf? just kidding (one of my brothers have Albinism)

I plan on playing as an Argonian who dont really have a god, they deeply revere/semi-worship the Hist. To me their similarity is more like they are Buddhist.

Lightest skin color, lightest hair color and if possible a very different eye color. Digs into some obscure lore but lets just say that there are still Chimer around in their original forms more or less.

Well that is official assumed canon. They are called the Chimeri-quay and live on some islands between Morrowind and Akavir. Supposedly they were discovered when the Empire tried to invade Akavir and basically island hopped there. It was however a developer post by MK that introduced this information. Which I cannot remember the specific name of. Hence I said obscure lore.

In my RP backstory, an Ashlander Dunmer women fled Vvardenfell and Morrowind by boat and through a series of events ended up amongst these Chimer. Where she met her husband, a Chimeri-quay. Because of the oddities of crossbreeding races in TES(the mother's genes determine race and make the most impact while the Father only changes some of the features, except in direct racial relations like Nord-Nord or Dunmer-Dunmer) my Dunmer will have features of both Chimer and Dunmer. Or something like that.

Oh did not know any of that including the mother part. Do you know which races can cross breed?

Supposedly, all races can breed with any other. It's suggested that Argonians and Kajiit may be an exception, but this hasn't been confirmed. Men and Mer can crossbreed, which is why the Breton exist in the first place. And Orcs are considered to be Mer, not a beast race. The "Gray Prince" was the offspring of a man and an orc.

All races can breed with each other. Hence the race part. However it isn't really known if beast races can interbreed with mer and man, though it is thought that it is possible to at least have intercourse. However Mer and Man can interbreed with each other. The offspring will just be of the mother's race. So if a Male Nord and Female Dunmer got together it would result in a baby Dunmer, with a small amount of features from the father. Such as maybe a more powerful build or reduced brow ridges or something. However I cannot stress it that it would be like 90% the mother enough. There are no halfbreeds in TES. Even the Bretons are just Mer and Men who bred over generations and are predominantly Human. Mixing small racial traits often enough that it created a new race.

I will roleplay a heretic, worshiping myself.... does that count?

Tbh if I had to choose, I would worship Alduin. He's also a God correct?
