What "Gods" does your character follow or worship?

Sounds to me you will look a bit like old Vivec himself.

Alduin is, I believe, one of the two Nordic interpretations of the Time Dragon, the other being Aka-Tusk. Could be wrong about that but I BELIEVE Aka-Tusk is Nordic in origin and aligns more closely with Akatosh, whereas Alduin aligns more closely with Auri-El/Bormahu. End of Time God vs Flow of Time God.

The short answer is yes, Alduin is a Dragon God of Time.

I have a feeling a lot of people will be role playing Chimer in some form.

I always found it interesting that Vivec chose to portray himself as literally half Dunmer and half Chimer while Almalexia chose to appear 100% Chimer. I think Sotha Sil chose to appear Chimer as well, but we never really saw enough of him (literally) in game to know for sure.

I heard it said that Sotha Sil, being the least vain and most humble of the Tribunal, wore the skin of the Dunmer in an act of empathy towards his people.

But then, that may have been a result of a misconception - apparently despite my impressions from what I've read, Almalexia was full-suited to her role as Mercy until loss of divinity drove her insane. Since Vehk is the meeting point between Seht and Ayem, it's possible then that Sotha Sil was the least involved and most distant of the three - in which case he's probably full Dunmer mostly 'cause he doesn't care. I mean, it's not like anyone except his own robots even see the guy 99% of the time.

EDIT: Just looked up some screenshots, and Seht is rather pale for a Dunmer, but it's implied he's been dead for a long time, which could probably explain that. It's also possible that his skin has blued up due to the time he's spent down there rotting, but I don't think it likely, simply because it's too deep a color for how brilliantly gold the chimer are. Still possible, though.

I have no such thing as a god, but a true leader: Ingilde Windcaller, who formed the Vokundein Clan.

Septim becomes Talos after uniting all of the nations into one empire. This game will take place before that, when the three powers are competing for the throne.

Indeed. Talos hasn't even been born yet. You can check out the time line for the second era here: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/second-era <-- Be warned that web site is super slow, so open the link in another tab.

My first character is going to be Dunmer, so definitely the Tribunal.

General Talos is born nearly 200 years after the events of TESO. The Nine Divines religion is the Eight Divines in this game.

My first character will be a Templar, and will worship the Eight Divines, with a focus on Julianos, God of Wisdom and Logic, and Stendarr, God of Mercy and Justice. He also will worship, to a lesser extent, Meridia and Hermaeus Mora.

Just FYi, Divine Worship and Daedra worship kind of conflict. Instead of worship maybe sympathize might be a better alternative? However do what you like, just saying, Daedra do not like to share worshipers and the Divines certainly don't like Daedra worshipers.

Indeed, now that you mention it "sympathize" seems like a better alternative. I wouldn't mind doing some quests for these 2 though.

Yeah, if you plan on RPing just put it in your head that your interests happen to coincide with these Daedra and helping them helps out Julianos and/or Stendarr. Or something like that. Or just worship all of them if you really want to. That could be interesting. I mean Molag Bal has a claim on your soul already so I guess it is pretty much anyones game at that point.

Venitas will 'follow' all the gods as the situation demands.

But he worships only one: himself.

Hubby was delving into some obscure lore and we might have found part of your source. It doesn't give the same island explanation as you are, but it does "confirm" (in a non-canonical way) that the chimer continued to exist.

Ahhh, thanks. However the source I was looking for is more obscure actually. Maybe I will mosy on over to the lore forum and slip it into question form in an appropriate thread. They always know thses things and while I am basically a regular there I am still an initiate. I also have no idea how to begin looking for that source.

Edit: Ha! Thanks to some help from OP I found the source.

So you're going to be a crazy person, worshiping things that don't exist. Got it.
