ok, What is happening in Zenimax in this precise moment?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:00 am

That being "said", where did I ever state that this game affected Skyrim's development in any way, shape, or form? That statement is out of left field and serves no purpose.

Well you still seam to think that Bethesda is doing this MMORPG. I was just making things a little bit clearer for you.

I've known all along it's been Zenimax. Zenimax is a company, has executives that will get pissed off of a failed project that took several years in development and cost millions to make, and Bethesda's "Elder Scrolls" name could be tarnished by the general public unfamiliar with the series by a bad first experience from this game. The general public will most likely not notice this is not a Bethesda Elder Scrolls game.

Is. That. Clear. Enough. For. You?

Its not Zenimax (Zenimax is the whole Company) Its Zenimax Online which is doing this Game.

Thanks for proving absolutely nothing with that post. A subsidiary of Zenimax failing is going to hurt Zenimax. Who in the hell would have guessed? Hey guess, what. When Blizzard North got shut down that hurt Blizzard Entertainment. Logic, tis hard to grasp.

Another Speculation, based on nothing but your own Imaginary weird little World.

But i guess you are out of Arguments seeing as you bring Blizzard Enterainment to this discussion.

I have no idea how this will work out. I think if they really wanted to grab the attention of the TES crowd specifially, they'd try and bring the game to consoles as well since that's where most of the previous TES games have been sold for. Plus, that other big MMO is not a console title, so potentially there's a large market there.

But now that it's only (for the time being at least) coming to PC/Mac, they must have something up their sleeves to draw attention to it. I don't think it's just the TES label that will have to bring in the players, that's probably not enough. So, if you're making a MMO from a franchise that isn't known yet for it's MMO-bility, and you're positioning that game in an already crowded market (MMOs for PC), then you need to have a sound plan to make it work. I can't believe Zenimax started this on a whim, so there's probably a whole lot of stuff that we don't know yet that will be key to how this is supposed to be succesful.
Yes, hopefully they have yet to pull the white rabbit out of the hat. But so far it doesn't look like much.

Damn, guess logic really is hard to grasp huh? A subsidiary of a company's failure/closure hurting the company as a a whole is not common sense? Damn son, I don't know what the hell to tell ya then. You seem to be the one out of arguments since you don't understand the basics of economics. Can't understand it still? I'll right it in 5 year old language.

Blizzard North/Zenimax Online = subsidiaries of Blizzard Entertainment/Zenimax Media

Blizzard North/Zenimax Online run into problems = Blizzard Entertainment/Zenimax Media run into problems

Here's 3 year old language for ya if that's still too much to figure out.

Wing of company bird get hurt so company bird have trouble flying.

Still hard to figure out? Let me send you a copy of The Little Engine That Could so dem words might start to make sense in a few years. Just remember when you're reading the book and having those "this is hard to understand" thoughts go through your head to say out loud:

"I think I can, I think I can!"

You ca do it! The power is yours!

Calm down, you seem to be so upset. Drink some Green tea, go out and get some fresh air.

And please stop talking about Blizzard Entertainment, this is the wrong Site to do so.

Again failing to believe that a subsidiary of a company is linked to the core company. Wait a minute... Silly me, that's why this isn't getting anywhere! The basic concept is too hard for you to grasp still.

The book has been sent. Hope you enjoy it!

Let's see.

There are maybe a couple hundred posters on this forum.

Skyrim has sold over 10 million copies.

I'm pretty sure they're not concerned about the forums blowing up with people's doom-and-gloom prophecies, since the same thing happens before every massively popular title they release.

You mean the whole internet including news outlets is "a couple hundred people they don't care about"? Doubtful.

I guarantee you that the "whole internet" you're referring to is nowhere near the playerbase of Skyrim, even if you only count the PC version.

And so far there's only one news outlet with a legitimate story (that really doesn't have details), and one Gamespy article that was written to ride the mini-bandwagon of "Look, it's a WoW Clone!" speculation.

Sorry dude, but if you think any mmo has better combat than skyrim, you might have a very bad taste for it.
Hotbar based combat would never work in a TES game, neither skill-tree would do.

Hahahah. Are you kidding??
TES combat has always been awful...yes it's getting better with each release but Skyrim combat is still clunky and "decent" at the best of times.
You want a MMO with better combat? Go try Tera...action based combat way more "meaty", fluid and better, overall, than Skyrim.
Even GW2 has better combat imo...it may be hotkey based but still feels much better.
It's entirely possible for them to make a TES MMO with better combat than the original series...

And the PR response was entirely predictable. You think that just because the reception was so negative that they would go "We are sorry for this...We are so scared from this turning into a giant flop". Of course not, they need to keep their image...That doesn't mean anything. We don't know their reaction to all the hate coming since the leak/announcement...they may be scared and not so confident with the game anymore or they don't give a crap and they're completely positive on their sucess.

I was excited for this game at start...then I came to my senses "Oh it's a MMORPG...another generic one and it's not remotely similar to TES when there's no excuse for that" and the leaks didn't help at all...but now I'm kinda interested again since I've been looking for another MMO and GW2 was on top of my list due to the combat and amazing PvP, but since TES:O "draws more inspiration" from GW2 than WoW I may give it a try as long as it has a decent combat system and PvP as satisfying as GW.

Hoping they will show it at E3.

Right now, the folks at Zenimax are probably scared out of their minds thinking that they've spent years working on a flop, while Pete Hines over at Bethesda Softworks is probably equal parts pissed off and equal parts desperately trying to figure out how to get this [censored]-storm under control.

This right here. At least, I hope this is what's happening. I can see it now, the people at Zenimax rubbing their hands together thinking we would throw our money at them, that we'd be ecstatic.... then jumping out of windows after reading the responses yesterday. They (Zenimax) should all be very ashamed of themselves. I feel so sorry for Bethesda.

The Secret World is due to be released soon (June I think), the fact that it has no classes or levels really interests me. There's also Pathfinder Online in the works... which sounds awesome. But I'm more of a PvE-type of gal rather than PvP. Good PvP is just a bonus to me. Darkfall seems like a pretty awesome PvP-MMO. I would try it if it wasn't so PvP-focused. :P

The ONLY good aspect of TES:O, to me anyway, is that it's voice acted. SWTOR spoiled me rotten with this. I tried Tera Beta but as soon as I saw that generic wall-of-quest-text I just thought "LOL nope!" and logged out.

But here's the thing, I have no interest in this game not just because it's an MMO but because my experience with Skyrim has made Elder Scrolls franchise dead to me. Literally, I have no feeling anymore, I'm completely indifferent.
That's not really true now, is it. If you was truly indifferent you wouldn't be posting here. Or can you explain to me why you would waste time on a forum and discuss products of a franchise you don't have any feelings for?
