What if the Dwemer came back?

If they came back they'd try to enslave/kill everyone.

You do realize Nords drove them there in the first place? You do also know that Nords helped destroy Ayleids another gone race, or according to some turned into the Goblins we see in Oblivion?

Alyeids are not a "gone" race. They live in the wilderness and avoid contact with people, but at least one of them visited the Imperial city, as is stated in Oblivion.

It's never been explained in-game what exactly happened to them, giving a somewhat air of mystery about them. I'd prefer that they don't come back and the status quo be maintained.

It would be really amazing if people did their research

Like the people who ask why Umbra isn't in Skyrim...

I hope they don't return and doupt they will, but a DLC using an Elder Scroll that takes you to the past would be interesting.

The Falmer started the war? The Nords came into a contintent that didn't belong to them in the first place...

Anyway, doesn't really matter who started it. Wars can be ended with something else then total destruction and the Nords weren't great big fans of that.
"Land that didn't belong to them"?
They settled peacefully in places that weren't occupied. And as a reward for their peaceful immigration, they were threatened with genocide by the Mer.

The Falmer tried to implement a genocide on the Nords in the name of Liebensraum - that's clear enough.
And the Nords turned the tables on them. Good for the Nords.

The return of the Dwarves could be enough to stop the Thalmor, I mean, look at their technology! It's still better than present day stuff! We're like 1850's America, and they're 1950's America.

Well, If the Dwemer came back I'd like to see the Snow Elves too. Perhaps that would team up to take back what was rightfully theirs? Could be a cool DLC or even a new game!

They can't come back. Ever. There may be a few survivors out there but the entire race coming back is an impossibility.

Idk, I wouldn'r count it out. They were the most highly advanced race. I'm sure Bethesda would find a way to incorporate them back in.

Only, as many others said, as the Numidium, and even then it wouldn't be like a race. They are the skin of a giant stompy robot.

Just the one

So genocide from one sides justifies genocide from another?

Also, the province belonged to snow elves all the same, I don't think the Nords would be to happy if a bunch of Altmer would suddenly start making new homes for themselves in some wilderness areas in Skyrim and claim it as a new land. There would be war there too.

Anyway I'm playing devils advocate here, and it doesn't really matter. I'm glad the Nords wiped out those bastards Falmer to be honest.
