What if the Dwemer came back?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 4:40 am

In all of the Elder Scrolls games the Dwemer were always one of the most interesting and unknown races. It seems that every time someone gets close to finding out what Happened to them something ends up going wrong. But what do you think would happen if the Dwemer suddenly came back.

Dwemer dungeons might actually be fun and not repetitive

Agreed. I've had enough with the robots.
Let me face their creators. :starwars:

I wouldn't want them to come back in some side-quest and it be done.

I would however like one of the next TES games make the return of the Dwemer the main (or secondary) plot focus.

I think a well done large dlc could do it right and with all the stuff going on in Skyrim it could be cool.

Some questions are best left unanswered. If Dwemer came back, then that would really end their whole appeal. In any TES game. The whole point is that they're mysterious and we're not exactly sure what they did. Did they spite the gods? Did they become gods?

However it would be cool if there was a prequel TES and you got to play as Dwemer and Snow Elves and other ancient races. It would just have to be very careful not to show us things like how the Dwemer disappeared.

It would be really amazing if people did their research instead of 'assume this big mystery'.
We know what happened to the Dwemer.
It is not a mystery.
It fits the overall endevour.

If they came back? I'll get rid of 'em myself!

Really though, I doubt they'll be back. Maybe we'll learn what happened to them, or even meet a few somehow but the entire race isn't likely to return.

That doesn't mean they can't come back as the big stompy giant robot. Though I suspect the last dwarf is the only one with the knowledge on how to make that happen.

I started an altmer and made him max weight with the largest darkest beard and hair I could.
My intent was too play him as a dwemer. I have leveled his destruction up to 65 so far at level 10 or 11.
My plan was major in shock and be a battlemage with all dwemer equipment, do all the ruins etc, but damn that crap is heavy and I don't want to waste 4? Perks to get the weightless HA. (to get there you have to take the most useless perks in the game IMHO)
I hate chugging around at molasses speed cause I like running around the countryside. I dont want to have to be in the steed stone continuously either. The armor was made to be worn by machines more so then peeps.
He is on hold for now, but I may have to bite the bullet and take the useless perks.
Maybe I will get destruction up to 80 or so then work on the HA stuff.
It would be nice to have a perk or quest to control the machines or keep them from attacking. You can do that with almost everything else in the game.
It would be cool to tool around with a dwarven sphere as a follower. They could probably carry a ton and you wouldn't have to listen to any endless dialogue loop!!!

Actually you don't know, because it has never been explained in-game. MK doesn't count.

If they returned, I would want it in the form of (at least) a huge expansion pack. Imagine the chaos it would be if Dwemer returned, the falmer wanted revenge, the Dominion declared war and a new dragon threat was rising...

That would be an amazing expansion!

Sure he does...

Anyway it's been confirmed time after time again, but instead of that discussion let's just answer the question asked...

The Dwemer would return, probably more united then ever. Being in such a dreadful robot for so long will make you like each other more (I think) and they would dominate the other races in one huge outgoing war, where their superior technology would slaughter all opponents even though they couldn't even beat the Chimer.

It is true I always hope to find atleast 1 Dwemer in the ruins, but they are exctint I hope the Devs make the next DLC about the Dwemer and the Elder Scroll and you could even like, ride a Dwemer Colossus steam machine or whatever that would be AWESOME!

If you want to meet a Dwemer go play Morrowind and do the Main Quest.

Yeah, but it's never going to happen again. Yagrum is the last living Dwemer and if he's still alive then you might meet him again, but that's as far as it will go. The rest of the Dwemer are gone, dead, bye-bye or to put in another way in a big giant stompy robot like elf hating thing.
