what do you do during load screens?

Post » Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:35 pm

I just browse these forums and the internet, on Xbox, since my Tv is right next to my computer.

When it gets really bad I let the Xbox cooldown for 10 minutes and clear the cache.

i have had both problems that the top 2 posters have had, either it loads so quick i cant read the tips, or it loads so slow (which has seemed to happen more now since i have 12 active quests have my companion and me with high lvl gear and weapons, and filled with loot) but to answer your first question i like to go on here or the fallout wiki when the game is loading

My PC's pretty high-end, so the longest loadscreen I've encountered is like 5-10 seconds, tops?

When I first started playing load times where fast. Now that I have about 70 hours logged, it takes FOREVER.

my load times are usually not to bad, but there are quite a few times that i get the loading bug where the game either locks up for 20 seconds or just sits there for a min loading. at times the long loading bug along with the random freezeing bug makes me want to uninstall off my hard drive... sigh !!!!

Guess I have a BAMF Xbox. No issues here. Or maybe it's just that I clean my lasers regularly. What a concept.

I pet my cat.

When I went through Fallout 3 my old and dying chihuahua Lola would sit on my lap. She would get pet during every load. I wish she was still around. She was my fallout buddy.

When I play again as a woman, my characters name will be Lola.

Im very sorry to hear that. Lola died of cancer as well. She was very tired and didnt like to move much towards the end. So she just sat on my lap while I played. She loved it.

Everytime I play fallout I think of her. Stay strong dude. Remember the good times.

I've had the exact opposite problem. Sometimes I try to read the little tips that pop up on the load screens and the game starts before I can finish. Always thought that was a little bit annoying.

Edit: Just noticed that you said you installed it to your hard drive so I guess you are talking about playing on the 360? I can tell you on a nice PC the load times are counted in just a few seconds for me.

The people playing this on the Xbox or PS3 generally don't have $4,000-$6,000 lying around the house. I'd bet people that play on the consoles are the middle-class people who can't afford the PCs, otherwise I'd be playing it on a PC.

I sit and think, reflecting on my in-game choices and planning my next course of action.

I paid 800 for my good gaming pc so they don't cost that much.

I'm actually what is considered an upper class person, but that would be if mooching off of my mother's financial standing counts. My mom has always known the value of money, having grown up as a war zone as a lower class citizen, so she never wasted much money on what she considers impractical things, including a gaming PC (and I sure don't know how to build one, nor would my mom let me try) and after being used to playing Playstations for so many years, I don't really want to waste money on one, either. I prefer my Playstations. I don't need to mess with them to get them to work, it's connected to my TV at all times, I've got free Netflix movies available for instant viewing, and it's a Blu-Ray player. Even after completing my current plans of attending medical school after college to work as an internist, I plan on using Playstations as my main platforms of choice.

I also know of many middle-class people who have gaming PCs, although those people (the ones I know) typically build their own computers for much cheaper.
