What do you wear for clothing or armor?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:55 pm

What looks best and does the job for you?

I put a lot of perks points into light armor but decided to start wearing heavy as well. With double enchanting this makes switching pretty easy, so I am not really week from not having all the light armor extra benefits from perks playing on master. Deadric helmet, dragon scale armor and boots, deadric gauntlets(I think they look bad ass when using magic) and a shield that has spikes for bleeding damage. This setup looks really cool and I still have an armor rating of 800, although its not 1200 with wearing all light armor it still does the job. 1200 armor rating is pretty much a waste anyway right?

For clothing I usually wear Noble clothes and for armor I wear two sets of armor. One being Steel Plate and the other being Wolf armor. I've forgotten what enchantments I had on them though.

I generally wear light armor of whatever variety is top quality, and Alik'r hood (although I occasionally swap out the hood for something different). Looks pretty badass on my Khajiit :)

I usually wear Nightingale armor or when I feel wearing that armor is not suitable for the time I wear Linwe's armor, for regular clothing it varies.

I am level fifty three and my character is wearing leather armor as it best suits his unlavish personality.

Really depends on character. Some of my dunmers like falmer armor, because of them resembling to their homland's chitin. One of my swordsman/healer/illusionists wears adept robes and hood with elven boots and gloves. Orcs and Nords wear fur, iron and steel even after reaching the top levels. My latest dunmer wears expert robes along with common gloves and fine boots.

My Khajiit? Fur armor, or Forsworn, for combat. Otherwise, nothing at all.

Anyway... any armor rating over 500-something is a waste - There's no more benefit.

Right now, my Nord is wearing a full set of epic Orcish armor+shield. Soon, he'll upgrade to dragonbone armor, and perhaps daedric once I locate the daedra hearts.

For the record, your armor rating caps out at 80% or 567, so anything above that provides no additional benefit. There's no need to have an armor rating over 1000.

My level 42 Warrior is still wearing Hide Armor. I have tried to put into something else but she won't hear of it.

I came across ancient nord boots today. Is there an entire set out there. I'm level 70 and I have only seen ancient nord helmets until today. If I had to choose a heavy armor to wear it would be wolf or the blades armor. I think those armors look cool and traditional. I have them on my mannequins because I love the way they look so much.

Well, my first character was a Nordic battlemaiden, so I had her wear heavy Ebony armor that she enchanted with fortify two-handed, fortify armor rating, etc.

My second character was a female Altmer pure mage who I had wear the master level destruction robes, with enchanted Thalmor helmet, boots and gloves (from the Thalmor goon squads she'd wipe out). I really like the look of the Elven armor, but it doesn't look right on a character who's not Altmer (in my opinion).

Now my third character is a Bosmer thief/assassin who so far has mostly been wearing the light armor she gets from her jobs. (Theives guild, Nightingale armor, etc.)

For armour I have a full set of heavy dragon bone. For clothing I wear the mourner's suit, redguard boots and an Ak'viri (sp?) hat with gloves.

I usually wear fur armor, there are three variants, so I switch them according to which region i'm in.

Steel has a pauldron and a pauldronless version too. I wish all the armor sets had a few variants, just hard to believe they don't change up their styles every once and a while.

Heavy armor - Dragonbone.
Light armor - Thieves guild armor.

I just like the way they look.

Thalmor robes. Unless I'm fighting a really tough enemy. Then I switch to the strongest armor I have.

I wear enchanted legendary daedric armor from the knees up, with boots of dwindling flames. I occasionally switch out to Thieves Guild stuff or shrouded dark brotherhood stuff depending on the job.

My current character is wearing some form of redguard garb. It's one of the only types of normal clothing that doesn't look like a dress or robes on a female.

My current character is a 2H Nord warrior. He's wearing the Savior's Hide Armor with Hide Bracers & Boots. Along with his Nord Hero Greatsword, his got a real Conan vibe going on!

I've got two low level characters I'm currently running.

One is a Level 14 Breton mage, and she wears apprentice robes, a novice hood, and Imperial bracers and boots. Once she's leveled Alteration up enough to take the Mage Armor perk, she'll scrap the bracers and boots and start seriously enchanting some non-armor gear for those slots. Once she's completed the College of Winterhold quests, she'll probably use the Arch Mage's robes as her main outfit.

The second is a Level 4 Orc who's going to be a tank. I'm not sure if he'll use two-handed weapons, or one-handed and a shield yet. He's currently wearing the steel armor he got from the Jarl of Whiterun for reporting the dragon attack, plus an Imperial officer's helmet and heavy boots that he looted while escaping Helgen. He's going to improve his smithing skill until he can craft himself a set of Orcish armor, and then keep at it to improve it to Legendary. Eventually he may move into Ebony.

Hyde armor, steal, horned helmet and not so fancy clothes. That's how my Orc likes to role.

My Dark Elf usually wears the Nightengale armor. Other than that, it's regular clothes.

I just don't think Skyrim is the kind of place to be fancy in. Morrowind and Cyrodil it was OK. Things were more "civil" over there in those times. With Dragons flying, armies killing, people dying. There's just no reason to dress in fancy clothes. Not to mention, there are no manors to own like Morrowind and Cyrodil. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I haven't been able to feel or look rich in this game despite being rich.

I don't invest perks in armor any more. So my char may change from Lt to Hvy to clothes or any combination. My fav combination is Ebony Mail, Thalmor gloves, black boots and a circlet.
