Seriously, i visited the Fallout nexus for the first time (being a PS3 user) just thought id check it out. So i looked around and navigated to the top 100 etc. Most of the top 100 are just pervy mods that add nothing to the gameplay but to fuel some sort of six desire. I dont understand it? can somebody shed some light on for me? ... :sadvaultboy:

E.g. I don't understand why so many "aesthetic" mods are using manga/anime style. Personally I don't think it fits with the setting.

Anyway, no one is forcing us to use this mods, so just ignore the one you don't like.

By sixual mods you also mean clothing mods? i don't really see a problem with any of those, you can always filter your research.

It's true that all you have to do is ignore it, but I am dumbfounded as to how some mods actually appeal to people. One, for example, is the Shojo race. Or greenery. Or both. Playing as a little anime girl with super tactical companions while traveling through a magical forest called the Mojave Desert. I just don't get it.

Well, it could have something to do with the fact that most people who play this game have female characters for some reason. One need only look at the "Screenshot" topic to confirm this. I've heard the "it's better to look at a female butt in third person" argument but as someone who roleplays pretty heavily in my own game, that just seems odd to me. Taking it a step further and dressing these characters up in provocative clothing is even more odd... I mean, what's the point of killing stuff and playing through various quests as a scantily clad anime school girl? I don't see the appeal.

Yes, it does and .. things don't really need to make sense, thats the beauty of sandbox games like FO and OBV, you can roleplay what you want and when you want with mods, you can make a character like Charles Manson if you want..

There's an advlt content filter on the Nexus sites that you can enable if you want to block advlt content (although that doesn't only include nudity, I think). There's also two Top 100 lists, one that is advlt only and one that has no advlt content listed at all, but I assume you knew that already.

I agree. I am rather appalled at the number of six related mods that exist, and how popular they are. There is barely even any work involved in making them. The people that pour hundreds of hours into quest mods, overhauls, and other things like that are the ones that should be on that top 100.

You know what we should do... start a petition to have 'advlt' mods removed from the nexus and no longer allowed. They could be hosted on other sites, leaving the nexus clean and true for the hardcoe modders. Or maybe he could just make a separate place for them? Well, except there is an 'advlt mod filter' that kinda does that. So just turn your's on I guess.

What I don't like is when majority of the mod section is made up of skimpy, whorish, anime clothing. Not even gonna comment on the "View Images" section.

Mmhmm. Well, that's just what the majority of the gamer demographic likes to see, unfortunately.
And it's something to consider as a modder -- if your mod has a distinct lack of hardcoe bewbage or, heaven forbid, involves MALE characters -- you're instantly going to get far less views/downloads from an advlt oriented mod... even if the latter required only a small fraction of the work put into the former.

I have a new and exciting idea: if you don't like them, don't download them. Pay no attention to the mods containing boobs which have been responsible for oh so many gaming related deaths in recent years and step right this way to Gun Pron 101 for all of your kiddie-safe entertainment needs.

Better yet, make your own mods filled with the type of people, places, clothing, and weapons you do find acceptable.

1. I am not prude, american or a puritan, so no need to project your stereotype at me.
I live in Central Europe, which means boobs, bewbz or briasts are no issue here as seen in The Witcher 2.

2. I already http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38738 by the way, even though it's an import. And it doesn't even involve gun porm.

My main gripe is that this crap makes up like 80% of the mod site, and even with a freaking filter I can't find a proper male/suitable female armor in the ocean of hentai stuff on F3 or Tesnexus.

I don't want any censoring or a custom content witch hunt, maybe just a healthy balance between these mods.

It's been my experience that the really talented modders don't really concern themselves with pageviews, downloads, and other accolades. Sure they're nice to get, but most of the quality people out there don't focus on it. Every time I read a Nexus page from some modder who just knows their work is the best ever and if they don't get more endorsemants and votes for MOTW they won't put out any new content or updates, I just know that there's a very VERY high chance that I'm looking at the work of some teenage kid screaming for attention.

Kinda like the really good players in sports or online games and so on - for the most part you won't find them talking smack and demanding RESPECT for what they've done as they know their work/talent/skills speak for themselves.
