My character has just escaped from being executed by the Imperial legion and eaten by Alduin, the first thing he will want to do is have a drink at the nearest tavern and have a well-earned rest. :)
That dragon at the start isn't Alduin.

My first character I will head to Riverwood and then Whiterun. Probably go back to Helgen evenually, but I am not sure if it will be available for fast travel like all of the other places we already visited.

Its crazy on how many people are just going in different directions and heading on there own journey. I deff can not wait in tell the game comes out and that thread "Where are you now" appears in the Skyrim thread i would be reading for days about everyone adventures and all. I love playing the games but I also like hearing other people personal journeys and quest

My character will head North to Riverwood to try and gather himself after narrowly escaping his execution. He will lay low for awhile doing various jobs and obtaining money and supplies to travel to the nearest/largest social hub ( Whiterun) to figure out what he wants to do with his life after having recently returned to Skyrim. By then he should have a small understanding of the circumstances in the land and can choose his alliances and beliefs on matters.

I'm a Digital Klepto so first things on my list are to find the Thieves Guild and a place to stash my loot.

First to River wood to recuperate after the near death experience, then ill explore a bit, doing quests and treasure hunting. Afterwards ill head to Whiterun and do the same, then off to Riften to find the Most shanty looking home there, preferably at the underbelly where the water levels basically reach your door. Then ill join the thieves guild. I plan to document this life in these Forums under ____'s life meimors

This thread looks safe...

I think I'll be heading to Solitude, but I may become sidetracked by everything there is to do. :tes:

Double back to Helgen to loot what's left.

Hmm, maybe I'll do that too. And from there west to Falkreath to see what's going on over there? I think I'll stay in the south for a while before I go to the frosty cold north.

Although I do think it's wise to activate one of those guardian stones first

Wherever the wind takes me :tes:

More or less what I plan on doing.

I would also very much like to see if the Volkihar are in Skyrim and if so where their lair is.

@ OP: Would be cool if you could link the world map itself to this thread, for ease of access. Kinda suits the thread pretty nicely.

On topic:

I'm going to be designing a socalled "megadungeon" for upload, so I need to start the design after new year. So that means I should plan out the locations and whatnot before that time. So when I start the game (on 360 for now), I'm going to start heading towards the western Jerall mountains and recon west-to-north toward Markarth and maybe beyond a bit.

To explain the term "megadungeon": Watcher's Keep in Baldur's Gate - Throne of Bhaal is an example of a megadungeon, albeit a very small one. The difference between a dungeon and a megadungeon, besides the size, is the fact that megadungeons are more infrastructural and interconnected. They're not just X dungeons in a row, but rather 1 massive structure. The Vaults in Fallout 3, as well as Raven Rock, could possibly also be considered lesser megadungeons. Dead Space is an example of a massive "megadungeon game".

The most classic example of a megadungeon is, provided it features its whole gamut of caves, dungeon, jail, barracks, smithy, courtyard, keep and tower - is the Castle.

Just wondering what will be your first town that you guys and gals will head to when you first start playing??? I think mines will be rifton how about you guys?? I reason for why you are heading there would be great to..

Im going to head to rifton just because I think that is where the Thieves guild is for some strange reason lol

I'll head to Riverwood to get suited up and level a bit, and then, like you, I'll head to Rifton for the Thieves Guild.

I have a feeling most people will end up in Riverwood first. Seeing as how I ended up in Cheydinhal instead of the Imperial City first in Oblivion, I'm kind of hoping I get lost in Skyrim as well and end up somewhere that isn't Riverwood. However, it seems to be best for my character to just go to whatever town we are "meant" to go to as we start the game, to get the generic starter's quests and items.
I'm debating as to whether I should just roam and get lost or go looking for vampires. With that said I'll probably start the main quest first so I can start collecting those dragon souls and finding the words of power.
