Who agrees that Nords are [censored]s? I hate them! Obviously this doesn't take anything away from my love of Skyrim, but I just cannot stand being near then. The reasons I hate them;

1. IGNORANCE
Most Nords tend to agree that Ulfric Stormcloak is the one to follow. Pfff. Although I can understand that Nords want their province back, they are ignorant to not face the fact that a victorious Stormcloak rebellion would only mean the Thalmor come in and smash their asses. Their best bet is most definitely to stand by the Empire for the time being, like in the Great War when they aided them in the Imperial City, because the Aldmeri Dominion is way, way, way too powerful for the Nords to fend off.

2. RACISM
Probably the most racist of the races; Orcs can be a bit discriminative of other races but at least stick to their strongholds, rather than, for example that [censored] Nord living in Windhelm who feels the need to walk through the Gray Quarter shouting insults at the Elves. Khajiits have to stick to living outside cities, any Elf is unwelcome in Skyrim, and Argonians get a pretty rough time. The Nords simply hate other races living in their province ("Skyrim belongs to the Nords!"), unlike for example Imperials who welcome anyone into Cyrodiil.

3. DRINKING PROBLEMS
Practically all Nords sit around all day getting hammered in inns, some Nord NPCs only having lines such as "are you gonna buy me another drink or not?" (or something along those lines). Even Jorrvaskr, they sit all day in their mead hall doing nothing but drink.

4. HATRID OF MAGIC
Boohoo some insane magic users following Mehrunes Dagon caused the Oblivion Crisis, therefore all magic must be awful! This attitude annoys me, magic in TES is great, and they dismiss it in practically all forms. Except of course the College of Winterhold. but they still claim that they College members caused the Great Collapse (if you ask me it was merely the Sea of Ghosts, and the College is still upright because of its magical protections.

I dislike the ancient nords for invading skyrim and pretty much condemning the Falmer and being indirectly responsible for turning them into the creatures from the movie The Descent

I love the Nords, for if they didn't invade and conquer the snow elves, TES wouldn't be where it is at today. Or something philosophical.

Actually, everyone's a little bit racist. Sometimes.

No really. Every race is a giant racist in some way. Even the Imperials are despite trying to be not as racist. Nords are pretty rude in Skyrim, but they were much friendlier in the other games. Not counting Daggerfall since everyone in that game is a jerk. I can't really hate them since everyone in every game after Daggerfall is nicer compared to how you get treated in Daggerfall for too long. I do find that nord women who is obsessed with how strong she is(the one who thinks everyone is scared of strong nord women) disturbing, though. Is she supposed to be a rejected Bikini Kill roadie?

Imperials tend to call orcs cruel and ugly, and the Altmer kill those with the ''wrong'' religion.
I can call that pretty rascist to. Just because a few nords in windhelm are rascist against the dark elves does not mean all the nords hate them.
I am rping a nord who joined the stormcloaks and she is not rascist. She actually wants to persuade the people to accept eachother. But she also believes in freedom, and agrees that getting murdered for believing in Talos goes too far. She is actually one of those war hero's.

The Thalmor / Aldmeri Dominion are bigger asses

Most of the bosmer have been abandoned by the Dominion, what i have heard atleast. I do know quite some Bosmer have a deep hatred for the dominion.

Lol Morrowind was much more racist. There was even slavery! Based on race!

Also Nords were meant to be the rude, rough and tumble drunk group...This isn't the United States where racism is bandied about mostly on an institutional level. It is in you face. People are not all nice, tolerant or even smart. In fact most are selfish, intolerant and rather stupid. So they just translated that into a video game. Historically the native group in a country has always been rather hostile to foreign groups and well...there IS a civil war going on. People are not happy. Racism and ignorance is passed down when their is no formal schooling. Children would learn from their father and the community.

There are no public schools in Skyrim. Only a few colleges with limited value in terms of educating the entire population. You think the Nords were bad? Try looking at our world just a few decades ago...lol

Yeah in Morrowind Im pretty sure that i saw atleast one slave from every race, especially those poor argonians and khajiit

Pretty sure slavery was both race and not race based in Morrowind. There was a few Dunmer slaves in Vanilla Morrowind. Also that Altmer slave who wore nothing but a netch helm in the Suran Slave Market. Khajiit and Argonians were just easier to enslave for some reason.

You shouldn't categorize one race because of a few bad apples, there have been many good nords who respect others and love tolerance and well...love.



Argonians were sold to slave markets from the Dres lands and argonian bandits in black marsh, Khajiit are often skooma and moon sugar addicts who went down the wrong allies or paths in Senchal, as for other races they are often sold into slavery as children by their parents for money and there are Dunmer slaves in Morrowind, they are just rare.

As far as it not being race based. There are exceptions to every rule. Elves and Men were much rarer as slaves than the beastfolk. The Dunmer did not consider those races way beneath them. However many did think of beastfolk as a lesser race or even just a beast.

Dunmer arent racist, they hate everybody equally

Not true. They hate other Dunmer more than anyone else.

I remember seeing one in a slaver smuggler run arena at a Dunmer Stronghold. That one was probably enslaved within a few days when the player finds her, though. The Dreamers may as well be considered slaves just because of the way the whole cult was able to be around, brainwashing.

Dunmer truly do hate everyone. Just, some might secretly hate themselves.

The problem is that TES Nords are the lamest and most boring of all the available races. Morrowind's Dunmer may have been racist and suspicious of outsiders but those negativities were negated to an extent by having a great and unique culture, art, and political system. and unlike Nords they allowed outsiders into their native organizations (even beast races). Nords are all the negatives with no redeeming qualities at all. basically the derpy hillbilies of Tamriel.

Bit of a generalization, really. Ever met Brunwolf Free-Winter? He's a Nord, and he's one of the least racist characters in the game

Which isn't how they were represented in previous titles. They are misrepresented in Skyrim due to great political, environmental, economical, historical and even mythological strains. I could use more -cal words but I think that covers it. Of course these are all things that affect their psychologiCAL behavior. Judging them now is like judging someone while they are in the most desperate of times and not in their normal mindset.

All problems in temriel is caused by magic! The hatred against magic is fully understandable

As for drinking problems, at least they don't go licking the hist tree or get high on moon sugar and skooma. Or those dunmeric drinks.

As for racism, you should hate all races in this case. The high elevs are probably some of the worst of the bunch. Next comes dunmers of morrowind and only then would I rank nords, up as the third.

Not all nords support uflric, thus the ignorance part is only valid when talking about stormcloak supporting nords. And every other race who supports the stormcloaks.

Not all stormcloaks are like that, Ralof is very friendly to other races and the guards in Windhelm tolerate them to.

College of Winterhold indeed did cause the Great Collapse. Not to spoil anything, during one of Daedric quests you find a journal wherein the circumstances of Collapse are well explained.

#1: It is not a guarantee that the Elves will dominate the Nords, you've forgot the key variable to the whole game; the dragonborn. It is escentially the choice of the dragon born, who will win the civil war; and likely it will be the dragonborn to help with the elf problem.

#3: Hypocrisy shows if you people read into #4, so one magic user causes the world to nearly end and it's not okay to hate magic. But yet it's okay to call nords alcoholics cos there are a few in every tavern? C'mon

#4: It's the same logic we use towards nuclear energy, it can be used towards our gain but one screw up and some [censored]'s toasted for good.

the racist nord in the grey quarter got his throat slit by my dunmer. he had one to many beers down at the new gnisis corner club, on the way back to candlehearth hall where he was stayin the nord in question started hurlin abuse. i got a bit ahead of him waited in the shadows then sliced his throat....
