Why can't my wife give birth? I don't want adopted children

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:46 pm

If you opt for having your own baby, I can't see why it couldn't just fade to black - then a message pops up, and there you are 9 months later with a wailing baby in the crib... but then that baby would have to age if you carry on playing the game into years...

The phrases "Dynamic World" and "Jumping in Time" doesn't really see eye to eye, you know.

If you can keep a character around for that long, you must be roleplaying heavily.
You can probably handle roleplaying people growing up, birthing and aging.

You're right on both accounts !

You can rest and sleep right? Same logic - just a little longer than 24 hours.

You do realise how much different 9 months is from 1 day, right?
Very much can happen in a single day, how much do you think can happen in 270+ times that?

My character is a wood elf. Her husband is an argonian. You don't wanna see the result of THAT union. Believe me.

Mm, but I shudder at the thought of the poor, mutant child taking some of his/her father's features. :(

"Aww, look at his hideous, gross fleshy scales and his frightful, horrifying little horns."

1 day ---------------- 9 months.

Yeah, I said it. It's THAT different.

Interracial children take their mother's race. Some traits can be found form their father, but not horns and the like.
I don't think unions between Saxheel and other races have ever been documented though.

Perhaps I'm not the amazing TES Biologist but what I AM sure of is that the child takes the mother's race.

because it would mess up the whole "real-time" feel, if you could then would you be willing to wait 9 in-game months just to have a baby? As well as that it means they would have to make everyone else age which means older npcs would eventually have to die off

Like Skyrim marriage, its different from the real world.. In skyrim everybody lays eggs, in real life, I rather not go there..

I always wondered, do argonian's lay eggs?

Racial Phylogeny says "Generally the offspring bear the racial traits of the mother, though some traces of the father's race may also be present," if we're going to start a lore debate.

As an aside, I'd love to see some mer and beastfolk children up for adoption, rather than all humans all the time.

They could use the same design as the baby from the Pitt.. One day he is like 1 foot tall.. The next he is like 3.. The next he is all grown up and says "Watch It" when you hit a pot on the table..

They can lay eggs or birth live children, depending on the enviroment. Laying eggs mostly happens in Black Marsh, as i understand.

It's okay. We all make mistakes sometimes. Now you can be even more maniacal!

Anyway, I, for one, am glad that conventional ways of having children aren't going to be in the game. Adoption is fine and it requires much less coding and working things out.

Answered this in a prev. topic, but it's locked, so I'll quote myself:

1. Equality. Bethesda has done their best to allow same-gender couples the same rights as opposite-gender ones. Homosixual couples would not be able to produce children.

You can always use artificial insemination.. Well with a carrier..

My mods list says something else however..

Mods aren't administered by bethesda or the unknown bunch.. And there are no rules to modding, except stealing somebodies content and saying its yours.. Sadly a mod for morrowind which added a lot of texture packs in one mod was taken down because of this.. If there were rules to modding, there wouldn't be kill kid mods or six mods.. Of which I use neither.. Since normally all the kids are contained in some place you normally don't go into..
